Madeline and Steven’s story began in the most classic college way—meeting at a Halloween party during their first semester. Sparks flew, and their connection deepened over farm weekends, Florida summers, baseball games, and college dances. “We spent the next few months hanging out and getting to know each other before coming ‘official,’” Madeline says.
In 2022, Steven proposed during St. Augustine’s dreamy “Nights of Lights,” followed by a surprise dinner with their families and a night out to celebrate. “It was the first time a lot of our extended family got to meet, and it was incredibly special.”
Couple's Morning & Fashion
Madeline’s bridal look was all about timeless elegance with a modern twist. Her gown, by Alyssa Kristin, featured a flattering fit-and-flare silhouette with a square neckline, open back, and mesh side panels that added just the right amount of edge. “She is known for her crepe form-fitting dresses,” Madeline shares, and this one was no exception—sophisticated, minimal, and made to move.
Jewelry was kept sentimental and minimal: her cousin’s pearl earrings, her mom’s wedding band, and her grandma’s diamond studs. “The goal was to have an elevated version of my everyday makeup,” she says, opting for a soft glam that felt true to her. She pulled her hair into a classic bun for the ceremony, then tucked back a few front pieces for a sleeker vibe at the reception.
Steven went for a look that felt effortlessly classic—“classy and timeless” was the goal, and his Vera Wang tux checked every box. As for the florals? “They killed every aspect,” the couple said of Blossom Cart, who delivered a stunning bouquet and boutonniere that tied everything together.
First Look
For their first look, Madeline and Steven shared a quiet, emotional moment away from the buzz of the day. Seeing each other for the first time, all dressed up and glowing, brought a wave of emotions neither of them expected.
Ceremony
The ceremony felt intimate, heartfelt, and full of meaning. “We chose to have a good family friend officiate our ceremony,” Madeline shared, “and it was so special to have someone who knew us on a deep, personal level.” While they opted for a less traditional approach, their love for faith and family remained at the heart of it all. “We both felt like it made the ceremony more personal,” and you could feel that authenticity in every moment.
"Neither of us expects to be so overwhelmed with emotion. Even with having a first look, we were both so emotional when I began to walk down the aisle.”

One of the most unforgettable moments of the day came in the form of something small yet deeply powerful. “After my dad passed away, I started seeing butterflies at unexpected times,” Madeline shared. Just as emotions were already running high during the ceremony, a butterfly appeared—floating gently by and landing on the flowers next to the officiant. It stayed perfectly still in full view for the rest of the ceremony. “How I felt at that moment is something I honestly can’t explain. It meant everything to me.”
Moment Alone
After the ceremony, the excitement was electric. “We couldn’t wait to get the party started!” Madeline said. But first, they took a few quiet moments, enjoying the views and letting it all sink in. It was that magical in-between, where the emotions were still fresh and the energy of the night ahead began to build.
Photographer Tiffany Maysonet captured it all with effortless beauty—from golden hour portraits to the candid, joy-filled in-between moments, her work brought the day to life in every frame.
Reception Decor
The newlyweds enlisted the planner Anna Taylor of Taylored Affairs to bring her dream day to life—a wedding that felt soft, romantic, and effortlessly elegant. They wanted timeless elegance with a warm, autumnal twist, and together, they landed on a dreamy color palette of blush, champagne, and just a hint of copper. The historic charm of Powel Crosley made the perfect setting for this vision, balancing classic beauty with personal touches.
As Madeline shared, “One of my favorite details of the night was the lights.” She and her planner went all in, doubling the string lights and choosing a waterfall backdrop behind the head table. The lush florals in blush and mocha roses added a cozy, intimate feel, while the soft glow of the lights set the perfect ambiance as the night unfolded.
Reception
“We were both very excited about the reception and throwing down on the dance floor with our family and friends,” the couple shared. Their goal was simple— a packed dance floor. And that’s exactly what they got! The energy was contagious, and the celebration turned into a night filled with unforgettable moments and nonstop dancing.
"It is so hard to pick our favorite moments from the wedding. Every moment of the night was filled with so much love and laughter, and looking back on the day, it was everything we dreamed of and more.”

Into The Night
For the second half of the celebration, Madeline pulled off the ultimate outfit switch in a sleek, high-neck satin gown by Sau Lee. After trying on over 10 dresses with no luck, she ordered this one from Revolve at the last minute—and it was a perfect fit. With a quick train alteration just an hour before the rehearsal dinner, the look came together effortlessly. The newlyweds and their guests danced the night away in style.
"I am so glad I did the outfit change. It was one of my favorite parts of the night!”

Advice from the couple:
• My advice is not to sweat the small stuff. Everything plays out the way it is supposed to. Be in the moment with your partner, and don’t forget to admire your hard work.
• Also, get the planner. You will not regret the decision. Having my planner, Anna from Taylored Affairs, was truly the biggest blessing.
