Harriet and Charlotte’s destination wedding at Liopetro in Cyprus was a joyful Mediterranean celebration filled with elegance, emotion, and playful details. Set against the sea and a historic 12th-century church, their mid-fall ceremony brought together 75 guests for a sunset gathering of lemon liqueur favors and live music under the stars—ending with fireworks and a first dance that lit up the night.

Time of planning: 1 year
Number of guests: 75
Setting: Ceremony – seaview, reception – garden
Season: Fall

Harriet and Charlotte grew up on the same street and played netball together as kids, but it wasn’t until years later that Charlotte made the first move—with a cheeky message on Instagram. Their connection quickly turned into a whirlwind of laughter, love, and adventures across Paris, Lapland, and London—including a fancy dinner in Crocs and flip flops. Later, Charlotte proposed under the Eiffel Tower, and they later made things official on the same day they moved into their new home—wearing muddy Crocs and shorts. Their story is full of humor, spontaneity, and a deep, easy kind of love.

Bridal Morning

Charlotte wore a sleek, minimalist dress from Laura May Bridal with thin straps and a soft, structured silhouette. Her low bun was paired with a long embroidered veil, featuring delicate floral appliqués that added a romantic touch to the clean lines of her look. She carried a mono rose bouquet that matched the soft white and green palette of the day.

Before the ceremony, Charlotte shared a quiet moment with her son in a vintage convertible. Seated beside him, veil draped over the back of the seat, she smiled and laughed through a few deep breaths before they made their way to the venue. It was calm, emotional, and full of meaning—just the two of them before everything began.

Meanwhile, Harriet was surrounded by her bridesmaids in a cozy stone room with warm pendant lighting and a sense of calm excitement. As her friends helped adjust her veil and final touches, Harriet held a bouquet of mono roses and wore a fitted lace dress with intricate embroidery, a plunging neckline, and soft sparkle in the train that caught the light. Her look was classic and romantic, and the moment was filled with easy chatter, supportive smiles, and a few deep breaths before heading out.

Ceremony

The ceremony took place outdoors, with panoramic views of the Mediterranean and the soft October sun casting a warm glow over the stone courtyard. Rows of wooden chairs faced a simple floral arch made of white gypsophila and fresh greenery, letting the natural beauty of the venue and surrounding landscape shine. The couple stayed true to their white-and-green palette, with clean arrangements that echoed the classic elegance of their day. The backdrop included a 12th-century stone church, adding a timeless and historic feel to the setting.

The ceremony itself was filled with emotion and personal touches. Their daughter entered first, riding in a small wooden cart with a sign that read “Here Come Our Mummies,” setting the tone with joy and tenderness. One of their sons carried the rings, while the other walked Charlotte down the aisle, beaming with pride. Their celebrant spoke heartfelt words about their journey, their family, and their love. Guests were visibly moved, with many wiping away tears as the couple exchanged vows surrounded by their children, their friends, and the sea.

“The vows and the children’s roles in the ceremony were moments that brought tears to many eyes.”

Private Moment

After the ceremony, Charlotte and Harriet took a quiet walk together through the ruins near the venue. The sun was setting, casting warm light across the stone arches as they held hands and smiled at one another—just the two of them, soaking in the moment before the celebration continued. Their dresses trailed behind them, veils catching the breeze, and everything around them felt still for a moment.

Karina Leonenko captured this pause with a soft, cinematic touch. Her use of light and shadow, especially in the golden hour, added a natural glow to each frame. Switching between digital and film, black and white and color, she documented not just how it looked—but how it felt. Every image from the day feels honest, intimate, and full of quiet emotion.

Decor & Setting

The reception space was styled in soft Mediterranean elegance, with round tables set under strings of glowing lights and surrounded by trees. The green and white palette continued with lush arrangements of gypsophila, mono roses, and personalized details at every place setting.

Guests found their seats via a custom green escort wall labeled “Our Best Buds,” with individual stems in glass vases and arched table cards. Embroidered napkins bearing Charlotte and Harriet’s initials and wedding date added a tailored touch, while small bottles of Cypriot lemon liqueur served as heartfelt favors. Every detail was thoughtful and cohesive, reflecting the couple’s warm and joyful style.

"Details like outdoor games for children, a vintage popcorn machine, an ice cream bike, and a Polaroid guestbook added fun and sentimentality to the day, reflecting the couple’s warmth and playful spirit."

Reception

As the sun set, guests gathered for a relaxed open-air dinner, accompanied by live saxophone and violin music. Laughter and clinking glasses filled the space as heartfelt toasts were shared, celebrating Harriet and Charlotte’s story and the family they’ve built. Dinner was served under the stars, featuring traditional Cypriot flavors and a warm, joyful atmosphere. Later in the evening, the couple cut their cake by Love Island Cakes—a simple, elegant design that echoed the day’s aesthetic—and shared sweet moments surrounded by their closest people.

Once the formalities ended, the celebration kicked off in full. Harriet and Charlotte took the floor for their first dance under a sky of lights and fireworks, creating one of the most memorable scenes of the night. Guests joined in quickly, dancing to a mix of DJ sets from Pure Entertainment and live performances. Steam guns lit the dance floor as everyone celebrated late into the night—laughing, moving, and fully present in the joy of it all.

"The first dance under the sky, surrounded by sparkles and our guests, was an unforgettable emotional high."

Advice from the couple:

Don’t overthink it—trust your vendors and stay present. The beauty is in the joy, the small moments, and the chaos that makes it real. Create a day that reflects you, and the magic will follow.
