Mia and Kurosh met 14 years ago in Frankfurt and instantly fell in love. Their first date was at the movies, watching the three-hour-long film Avatar. “It was a bad idea,” Mia laughs. They essentially grew up together as they met at such a young age, and both share Persian heritage. 11 years ago, they added a new member to their family, their beloved dog Nikou, whom they adore and raise with all their hearts. Kurosh proposed on a beautiful summer day at Santa Monica beach.
For their wedding, the couple wanted a classy summer fairytale theme. They were focused on hiring the best vendors and wanted to capture their love story in a beautiful video. Their videographer Dimitris Pavlidis was the perfect choice to depict the love between Mia and Kurosh, their picturesque ceremony with Persian touches, and a stunning reception with a sea view.
Mia and Kurosh’s wedding morning was memorable and special as they prepared for the wonderful day ahead. Mia wore a wedding dress inspired by Steffanie Tzaneros’ bridal gown and the overall wedding theme. She did her own hair and makeup since she learned to be a makeup artist as a student. Kurosh looked classy in a stylish suit, accessorized perfectly for the occasion.
Just before the ceremony, the couple savored the breathtaking sea views while preparing to exchange vows and enjoy the festivities that awaited them.
Mia and Kurosh’s ceremony was truly unforgettable. Mia’s vows were heartfelt and touching, while Kurosh’s were a delightful mix of humor and inspiration drawn from his love for Superman movies and Marvel. They also incorporated Persian customs into their ceremony, including the Persian sofreh, a decorated table symbolizing everlasting love, fertility, luck, health, and wealth. Mia shared, “The sofreh was lovingly crafted by my incredible mother! This moment will stay with us forever!”
The newlyweds were surrounded by their loved ones, including their bridal party, and they were all excited to celebrate their love. Mia’s cousins and three best friends served as bridesmaids, dressed in elegant beige gowns that perfectly matched the wedding theme. The groomsmen looked dashing in their classic black suits.
Mia and Kurosh added some special touches while decorating their reception space. The entire wedding decorations, except for the flowers, were planned and made by the bride herself. The table cards were named after Persian poets, with a love poem by the poet written on each card.
“The day was unique because of the breathtaking view, the beautiful vibe and energy, the amount of love and laughter, and family and friends coming from all over the world to celebrate with us,” shared the newlyweds. The first dance music was incredibly beautiful and romantic. The celebration concluded with fireworks starting right as the song ended, perfectly timed from the water, creating an amazing sight.
