An Unforgettable Summer Wedding in Santorini

Location: Santorini, Greece
Setting: Villa
Season: Summer
How long did the couple plan the event: 1 year
The number of guests: 48
Wedding theme/style: Classic, timeless and romantic.

Suthern and Colton met in College Station, while attending Texas A&M University. Their story began on the night of Suthern’s sorority formal. She and her friends went out for drinks after the event, and Suthern, in a pink formal dress at a casual bar, quickly caught Colton’s eye. The two dated through college and eventually moved to Dallas for their careers. After several years together, they decided to build their first home in Dallas. When their house was completed, Colton surprised Suthern after a day of shopping by getting down on one knee. He had all their closest friends and family nearby to celebrate the night away!

This heartfelt proposal marked the beginning of their journey to their dream wedding in Santorini. With the stunning backdrop of the Aegean Sea and the exceptional photography and cinematography by White on Black Studio, the wedding was captured and celebrated in the most beautiful way possible.

The morning began with Colton, a picture of calm and collected anticipation, preparing for the day ahead. He dressed in a classic black tuxedo and completed it with a crisp white shirt and a black bow tie, embodying the essential groom’s look.

Suthern started her morning by penning her heartfelt vows. She delicately wrote down her promises to Colton, her mind drifting back through their beautiful journey. Her jewelry lay arranged on the table, and her dress hung in front of her, ready to wear and spark excitement.

Cynthia from Cynful Makeup did Suthern’s hair and makeup, highlighting her features without overpowering them. The palette featured soft and romantic tones that complemented the bride’s warm skin. Her eyes were subtly accentuated with a soft, smoky eyeshadow, and her lips were painted with a delicate, nude shade, completing her effortlessly elegant look. Suthern’s hair, with warm, sun-kissed hues, cascaded down her shoulders in soft, romantic waves, framing her face beautifully.

The villa, with beautiful views of the caldera and the clear, blue pool, became a quiet place to relax while sipping champagne. Suthern, in a delicate lace robe, exuded a sense of effortless grace under the Greek sun.

Wearing a breathtaking gown by the renowned designer Galia Lahav, Suthern transformed into a vision of bridal perfection. The gown was adorned with exquisite lace appliqués, creating a stunning floral pattern cascading down the dress’s length. With its delicate floral straps, the sheer bodice offered a modern yet classic aesthetic, perfectly balancing sophistication and allure.

The moment bride stepped into her gown was filled with joy and admiration. She was surrounded by her closest friends, who helped her with the final touches. The bridesmaids, dressed in a cheerful array of pastel dresses, gathered around her, their expressions of awe and love creating a heartwarming scene.

Suthern’s initial choice of wedding dress was entirely different. Still, the decision to wed in the picturesque setting of Santorini called for a gown that embodied the destination’s unique beauty. The Galia Lahav creation was a flawless fit, enhancing the romantic ambiance of their dream wedding. She was sure she had made the right choice when she saw the delight in Colton’s eyes as he first glimpsed her in the stunning dress.

The White on Black Studio highlighted Santorini’s natural beauty, using its iconic white architecture and stunning vistas to enhance the couple’s love story. The shots of Suthern and Colton walking through the narrow streets, framed by traditional blue-domed buildings, were particularly enchanting. Each image was a work of art, a blend of natural beauty and emotional depth that showcased the couple’s love in the most picturesque setting.

We wanted memories and photos to look back on, just like the love that never goes out of style!

The ceremony took place against the breathtaking backdrop of the Santorini cliffs, with the deep blue sea stretching out to meet the horizon. The setting was nothing short of idyllic, a true heaven on earth. An arch adorned with delicate white flowers and lush greenery framed the couple as they exchanged vows, each word resonating with the promise of a lifetime together.

The chairs were arranged in a semicircle, allowing every guest a perfect view of the ceremony. The gentle sea breeze, the waves’ sound, and the afternoon sun’s warm glow created an atmosphere of serene beauty.

When Suthern and Colton kissed, sealing their vows, it felt like time stood still. White on Black Studio captured every detail, from the intimate glances to the joyful tears, preserving these memories forever.

The reception was spectacular, thanks to the impeccable work of planners Julia and Evita. The couple trusted their planners completely, and it was evident in every aspect of the evening. Set against the serene see, the reception area was adorned with twinkling fairy lights and elegant floral arrangements by Bloom de Fleur. The long dining table, set with pristine white linens and surrounded by chic chairs, offered an enchanting view of the sunset over the caldera.

When the sun started to go down, coloring the sky above Santorini with shades of pink, orange, and gold, Suthern and Colton found a moment of calm during the celebration. They stood together on the caldera’s edge, taking in the breathtaking view and savoring every second of their day. White on Black Studio caught all tender touches with the last rays of sunshine and transformed them into stunning shots.

The menu was a fusion of traditional Greek flavors and contemporary cuisine, a perfect representation of the couple’s sophisticated tastes. The wedding cake was a highlight of the evening. Its whimsy design and delicious flavors made it a fitting centerpiece for the celebration.

The couple’s first dance was a moment of pure enchantment. When they swayed to the music, the soft glow of the lights illuminated their joyous expressions. A heartfelt father-daughter dance, a touching tribute to the bonds of family and the passage of time, followed this. The dance floor soon filled with guests, their laughter and cheer echoing through the night.

The live music by Louis Vlahakis added a festive spirit to the evening. Its mix of romantic ballads and lively tunes kept everyone dancing. The DJ ensured the energy never waned, transitioning seamlessly between genres and tempos.

The night culminated in a spectacular display of fireworks by Sky Light Fireworks, a fitting finale to a day filled with love and joy. The guests watched in awe, the vibrant colors reflecting in their eyes and hearts.

The reception continued late into the night, with guests enjoying the music. The laughter, the joy, and the memories created were a testament to the love that brought everyone together.

Advice from the couple:

Trust in God and take a leap of faith! We will never regret our decision to have a destination wedding. It created memories that will last a lifetime, not only for us as bride and groom but also for our friends and family who attended! It truly is a day for just the two of you. Don’t worry about every detail. Try to take in every moment as it goes by so fast!
