An Unforgettable Sicilian Wedding with Blush and Sage Decor

Featured Members:

This heartfelt wedding took place in the breathtaking Villa Criscione in Sicily, Italy. Sonia and Alessio’s big day was all about elegance and simplicity, featuring classic white as the dominant color. The architecture, well-groomed gardens, and the set design created a refined and timeless atmosphere for the event.

Location: Sicily, Italy
Style: Elegant, classic, romantic
Time of planning: 10 months
Number of guests: 200
Setting: Villa
Season: Summer

Sonia and Alessio first met as teenagers through mutual friends. However, they weren’t close back then and didn’t get a chance to get to know each other better. Years later, destiny brought them together, showing how much they had in common. Sonia and Alessio began dating and almost immediately understood they could make the perfect couple!

Wishing to stay together forever, Alessio romantically proposed, and soon the wedding preparations began. Ten months later, Sonia and Alessio welcomed their loved ones on the celebration of their big day.

Bridal Fashion

The bride had a clear vision for her wedding and fashion; everything had to be elegant, minimalistic, and impactful, starting from the thoughtfully created stationery and progressing to the delightful set design—and especially the wedding fashion.

She wore a stunning floor-length sleeveless mermaid dress. The lace and Venetian bead detailing elevated the romantic layers of sheer tulle. An incredibly thoughtful stylistic choice was a veil with a laced edging that perfectly matched the texture of the bridal dress. Sonia’s hair was collected in a sleek, tight bun and accessorized with a statement jewelry piece with a floral motif. Her makeup carefully highlighted the bride’s gorgeous green eyes and provided a chic and balanced look.

Sonia’s bridal bouquet was a very sensual and textured arrangement of white and powder flowers, with a little glimpse of green accents. The Ambre Nuit by Dior was a cherry on top of the bridal fashion. The rosy and citrusy main notes of the perfume, with the gentle spicy, woody, and musk scents underneath, impeccably resonated with the romance of the event and the charm of Sicilian Summer.

Ceremony

The ceremony at Sonia and Alessio’s wedding was nothing short of magical, held under the grand gazebo nestled within the serene peacock garden of villa. Surrounded by its lush greenery, the setting felt both intimate and grand. Long white drapes hung elegantly between the trees, gently swaying in the breeze, casting soft shadows over the guests and creating a dramatic yet peaceful scene. Subtle touches of green foliage added freshness to the decor without overpowering the simplicity of the overall design.

As guests arrived, they were greeted by the enchanting melodies of the Dammen Quartet, whose music filled the garden with an air of tranquility. The soft string music set the perfect tone, building anticipation and emotion as everyone awaited the bride.

When Sonia made her entrance, the atmosphere was filled with a sense of awe. The ceremony was heartfelt, filled with laughter and tears as the couple exchanged their vows under the canopy of flowers and drapes. It was a perfect reflection of their journey, from their teenage years to this unforgettable day. Guests were visibly moved, and there wasn’t a dry eye in the crowd.

Moment Alone

As the sun began to set over the Sicilian landscape, the newlyweds stole a quiet moment alone amidst the beauty of the villa. Bathed in the soft golden light of the evening, the couple took a peaceful walk hand in hand, savoring the magic of their wedding day.

Photographer Linda Puccio skillfully captured these intimate moments, using the warm, glowing sunset to create breathtaking portraits that reflected the couple’s deep connection. Each shot perfectly framed the serene landscape and the couple’s emotions, turning their private moments into timeless memories. The play of light and shadows, combined with Linda’s expert eye, resulted in photos that will forever evoke the serenity and joy of that special time together.

Reception

Set under a canopy of twinkling fairy lights and magnificent chandeliers, the outdoor space was transformed into a dreamy atmosphere where guests dined beneath the stars. Long, imperial-style tables were adorned with blush pink linens and decorated with delicate floral centerpieces of white peonies, roses, and touches of greenery, adding freshness and sophistication to the entire scene. The soft candlelight from glass cylinders enhanced the romantic vibe, creating a warm and inviting glow.

Each place setting was carefully thought out, featuring knotted sage green and blush napkins, paired with vintage glassware in soft tones of green, pink, and lavender, giving the tablescape an extra layer of charm. Personalized name cards were tied with tassels, a small but thoughtful detail that brought a personal touch to the celebration. The balance of soft pastel hues, combined with the enchanting lighting, created an unforgettable reception ambiance, one that perfectly reflected the couple’s vision of understated elegance and timeless romance.

Dinner & Afterparty

The dinner was filled with heartfelt toasts and contagious laughter. Everyone enjoyed the food and bonded even more by sharing this bright moment together.

As the night progressed, the atmosphere became lively. Sonia let her long hair down and added sleeves to her dress for the couple’s first dance and the rest of the party.

The cake-cutting ceremony featured cold fireworks in the background, as the newlyweds cut their three-tier white cake, decorated with big and lush floral arrangements.

The wedding day ended with a bright show, and professional actors entertained the newlyweds and their guests. The colorful lighting created a fun and vibrant atmosphere for the night, creating long-lasting memories for everyone who attended.
