Kayla and Colby’s love story is a beautiful blend of Texas charm and New York energy. From the very beginning, their relationship quickly blossomed into a grand adventure filled with travel and discovery. Their first year together saw them visiting over 20 new cities, creating unforgettable memories coast to coast. The proposal was a cinematic moment in the rolling hills of Texas wine country. As the golden sun cast a warm glow, Colby knelt and promised Kayla, “to dance around the world with her forever.”
BRIDE & GROOM'S FASHION
Kayla wore a sophisticated off-the-shoulder gown with a dramatic train from Impression Bridal. Her accessories, including elegant pieces from Tiffany & Co, added a touch of classic glamour. The final hints to her look were provided by the skilled team at Glam on Location with flawless makeup and hair. Kayla’s bouquet, crafted by Harkins the Florist, featured a stunning array of white and green flowers, complementing her elegant style. She spent her morning with bridesmaids, who wore elegant black dresses from Shop Revelry, adding elegance to the overall aesthetic.
Colby looked stylish in a classic tuxedo, paired with accessories from Brew Watches. His ensemble was timeless and sophisticated, perfectly complementing Kayla’s glamorous look.
THE FIRST LOOK
The couple’s first look was on a balcony overlooking the lively streets of New Orleans. Linka Odom, the talented photographer, brought their special day to life with stunning artistry. Her use of depth, focusing solely on the couple while blurring the surroundings, beautifully highlighted their love. Iconic locations like the St. Louis Cathedral and the vibrant streets of the French Quarter added a timeless quality to the photos, making each shot a blend of cinematic beauty and heartfelt storytelling.
We were drawn to the energy of the enchanting New Orleans French Quarter, a city that reminded us of Europe, but was perfectly situated between our home states.

THE CEREMONY
The ceremony was held at Latrobe’s on Royal, the perfect choice for their celebration. This historical landmark, designed by Benjamin Henry Latrobe, the “Father of American Architecture,” provided an elegant and timeless backdrop. The venue’s charm, with its 1800s architecture and historical significance, matched the couple’s vision of a glamorous wedding.
Kayla’s love for musical theatre and The Great Gatsby inspired the grand entrance. Lana Del Rey’s “Young and Beautiful” echoed through the venue as Kayla made her way down the aisle. She celebrated the beauty of every woman in her wedding party by encouraging bold red lipstick, while the men wore emerald green bow-ties, adding a touch of old-Hollywood glamour.
THE RECEPTION
The reception was an enchanting affair with endless food stations, classic cocktails, and a high-energy 10-piece band dressed in glittering outfits from La Spice Band. The couple had decorated the venue with cylindrical candles, adding to the romantic ambiance of the night. The stationery, designed by Minted Weddings and Britt Warnick Designs, added an elegant touch to the décor.
The evening proceeded with the cutting of a stunning cake from The Royal Cakery, adorned with intricate white floral designs.
The ballroom, transformed with colorful lighting, was filled with excitement and romance. The couple’s first dance was a magical moment, setting the tone for the night of celebration. Guests danced for hours, celebrating the newlyweds with joy and laughter.
As the evening progressed, the celebration moved to the streets of New Orleans. The couple, leading a Second Line band from Knockaz Brass Band, brought a unique and lively tradition to their wedding. Guests waved handkerchiefs and danced through the streets, creating unforgettable memories.
Advice from the couple:
• Maintain an air of mystery surrounding your special day. Like the anticipation builds before the opening night of a Broadway show, we chose to be somewhat elusive, keeping our guests in delightful suspense. The invitees were eagerly awaiting the start of the celebration. Let the red curtain rise, listen to the music, and let the party take on a life of its own.
