An Endlessly Romantic Elopement Among Tuscany Fields

Micaela and Luke’s wedding day was a beautifully intimate affair set against the enchanting landscapes of Tuscany’s Crete Senesi. Choosing to elope, they embraced the simplicity and spontaneity of a private ceremony at the end of summer, surrounded by the warm, earthy tones of the countryside. With just the two of them, the day was all about meaningful moments, personal touches, and breathtaking scenery. Their vows echoed through the quiet, golden fields, creating a setting that felt timeless. With Serena Morandi Photography capturing each candid moment, their elopement became a cherished memory—a romantic celebration of their love in one of Italy’s most stunning regions.

Location: Tuscany, Italy
Style: Elegant, spontaneous, elopement
Time of planning: 2 months
Number of guests: 2
Setting: Tuscan hills
Season: Summer

The love story of this beautiful couple started almost ten years ago when Luke was visiting friends at a university. As he saw Micaela, he felt driven to her, captivated by her beauty and character. The timing wasn’t right back then, and the two parted ways to be reconnected eight years later. Destiny led both of them to Cairns, Australia, where they came for work. Micaela and Luke quickly reconnected through mutual friends and felt the spark. They formed an undeniable connection by getting to know each other again, bonding through shared interests and travels. Luke’s persistence and special homemade pasta conquered Micaela’s heart.

Their relationship thrived, and when the time came, they decided to elope in Italy. The couple wanted to celebrate their love personally and meaningfully, skipping traditional wedding conventions.

Location & Planning

Micaela and Luke wanted to focus entirely on their love rather than the usual wedding formalities. Eloping to them meant putting their connection first, completely dedicating this big day to each other.

Influenced by their Italian heritage and desire for a private celebration, the couple chose the beautiful Tuscan countryside. Once Micaela and Luke saw an image of Crete Senesi on Somewhere Crazy website, they immediately knew they had found what they were looking for.

The team of professionals spent a few months with the loving duo, helping the couple to create a perfectly personalized elopement. Everything unfolded on an intimate spot on public land in Crete Senesi. Together with the planner, Micaela and Luke chose colors and flowers to match the area’s natural beauty, creating a tasteful blend of simplicity and elegance. The soft palette and timeless fashion resonated with the seasonal changes in the landscape. It was still summer, but the quiet glimpses of the upcoming fall were all around the scenery.

Getting Ready

The couple kept their style minimalistic and chic. Micaela wore a custom-tailored, classic, elegant dress that perfectly suited the stunning Tuscan backdrop. The long sheer veil amplified the elegance of the overall look. Micaela kept her accessories simple, complimenting the effortless look with natural makeup and hair styled in loose waves. The classic Chanel perfume was the final touch.

The bridal bouquet was a true highlight. It combined sophisticated white flowers with subtle earthy undertones that matched endless Tuscany hills during the change of the seasons.

Luke wore a tailored black velvet suit by yd. that flawlessly combined traditional and modern details. The sleek classic shoes, Italian cufflinks, and watch gifted by Micaela added history and character to the groom’s fashion.

An incredibly touching part of the couple’s morning was getting ready together. Luke helped Micaela button her gown, and she attached a boutonniere to the groom’s suit that perfectly matched the bridal bouquet. It was indeed one of the most intimate moments of the day.

Journey

After ensuring they were both ready for their special day, Micaela and Luke left for a pre-elopement photographic journey. The couple drove their timeless Triumph Spitfire spider from Slowhills through endlessly romantic Tuscany scenery, occasionally stopping to take pictures of beautiful greenery and old Italian cityscapes.

Serena Morandi followed them, capturing the joy of two loving hearts with her camera. Micaela and Luke kissed and laughed, feeling at ease at the photographer’s presence. A relaxed mood allowed the couple to show their sincere emotions and the bright personalities that Serena displayed in her work.

Serena‘s artistic vision and vast professional experience allowed her to produce timeless keepsakes of Micaela and Luke’s elopement day.

Dramatic, vintage-looking black-and-white pictures, along with colorful and warm ones, perfectly translated the atmosphere of the day. The photos exude quiet chic, the summer sun’s warmth, Tuscany’s charm, and endless romance.

Ceremony

The ceremony unfolded among the green hills of Crete Senesi, surrounded by stunning views. The couple’s main focus was on their vows and their commitment to each other. The intimacy of being alone in the endless sight allowed Micaela and Luke to embrace the moment, entirely free from distractions.

While exchanging their heartfelt vows, Micaela and Luke both teared up a little and, after being wedded, embraced their officiant in a tight hug. The ceremony was a most intimate moment of the day, overfilled with joy and mutual gratitude. Everything turned out great, and their special day was a unique and profoundly personal celebration.

Sunset

After the ceremony, Micaela and Luka decided to stay outside for a while. They took a slow-paced walk through the green landscapes, watching the sunset. Serena Morandi captured the beauty of the final moments of their elopement, photographing Micaela and Luca in the warm glow of the setting sun.

The newlyweds ended their elopement day with a private reception dinner for the two. They sat at a restaurant, discussing the day and enjoying each other company, embracing their new status. It was a perfect ending for the intimate and personalized elopement Micaela and Luca dreamt of.

Advice from the couple:

Prioritize what truly matters to them and not get caught up in societal expectations. They emphasize the importance of making decisions that reflect your unique love story and values.
