An Enchanted Boho Chic Wedding in the Lush Jungles of Tulum

Location: Tulum, Mexico
Setting: Private estate
Season: Spring
How long did the couple plan the event: 13 months
The number of guests: 64
Wedding theme/style: Boho chic.

Jaeda and Peter’s love story began in 2019 at one of Jaeda’s favorite spots, Gringos, in downtown Jersey City, where she worked as a waitress. On March 9, 2019, Peter’s mom planned a surprise 30th birthday party, and Jaeda was assigned to take care of the party. Peter was taking pictures with his many family members when someone joked, “Look at Peter’s fake smile fading.” As Jaeda walked by, he seized the moment and responded, “No, I can keep this going all night. Watch this,” and then he grabbed her for a photo, laughing. Their conversation that night revealed Peter’s witty, fun personality and confidence, which captivated Jaeda. And the girl, intrigued and amused, asked him to send her the photo. “I was 24 and had never dated anyone older than me. He sent me the picture the next morning; I must say, he was the best texter I had ever met. From that point on, we got to know each other deeper, feeling the magnetism between us grow stronger daily,” Jaeda shares.

The proposal happened at Peter’s sister’s wedding in Barcelona, which was held in a stunning outdoor garden. During the reception, Peter asked Jaeda to practice a dance spin by the DJ booth, ensuring everyone could see them. As Jaeda rolled into him to conclude the spin, Peter got down on one knee to the tune of “Marry Me” by Bruno Mars, which was so beautiful!

The wedding took place among Tulum’s jungle and beach backdrop, providing an idyllic setting that perfectly matched the lovebirds’ boho chic theme. Initially, the couple didn’t have any particular vision for the celebration. However, Jaeda knew she loved muted pinks, taupe, tans, and bohemian vibes, which Mexico naturally embodied. This aesthetic created a look perfectly fitting the serene and picturesque beach setting.

Throughout the planning, the bride found joy and excitement, cherishing the journey and enjoying the process of creating her dream wedding. This perspective helped Jaeda stay present and deeply grateful on the big day, allowing her to fully immerse herself in the beauty and magic of the celebration.

As the sun rose over Tulum’s pristine beach, Jaeda and her closest friends gathered in a beautiful beachfront villa. The air was filled with excitement and the soft sound of waves crashing on the shore. Known in her social media circle and real life as the “Aperol Spritz Girl,” Jaeda and her friends prepared a batch of cocktails and drinks for the morning celebrations.

Jaeda’s hair and makeup team arrived to transform her into the stunning bride she had envisioned. Although she initially planned to wear Hollywood waves, after a night of overthinking, she decided to opt for a sleek bun. This sophisticated and practical style allowed her to dance the night away without worrying about her hair, and in the end, she couldn’t have been happier with her choice.

Her makeup was equally stunning, enhancing her natural beauty with a flawless, radiant finish. The warm tones on her eyelids perfectly complemented her skin tone, giving her a soft yet captivating gaze. Jaeda’s lips were adorned with a neutral, slightly glossy shade that balanced the boldness of her eyes, ensuring her makeup was cohesive and harmonious.

The bride looked enchanting on her wedding day. Her dress, the Noah Gown by Grace Loves Lace, was made of lovely lace with intricate details, giving it a romantic and sophisticated touch. The fitted bodice and flowing skirt accentuated her figure and added a sense of lightness and movement, perfect for the beach setting. The off-shoulder design, lace sleeves, and scalloped edges created a romantic and ethereal look. The gown was tailored to fit her perfectly, ensuring Jaeda felt beautiful and comfortable throughout her special day.

To complement her gown, Jaeda chose a bridal bouquet featuring a blend of phalaenopsis orchids, roses, anthurium, and bleached dry foliage, adding a touch of bohemian flair and elegance to her attire.

At the same time, Peter had touching moments with his family in his suit. He looked dashing in a suit from Boss and Steve Madden slip-ons, chosen after a challenging search for the perfect shoes made in Italy. He embraced the no-sock look, which added a stylish touch to his attire. The boutonniere matched the wedding’s boho pampas style, tying his look together seamlessly.

When the time arrived for Jaeda and Peter’s first look, anticipation filled the air. The lush backdrop of Tulum’s beach provided a stunning setting for this intimate moment. The groom stood facing the ocean while the bride approached him from behind. The joy and love in their eyes were palpable, a moment so pure and filled with emotion that it seemed to stop time. Every precious detail of this beautiful encounter was captured by Luxart Wedding Studio.

The studio, founded by the fantastic duo Abi and Gon, is known for its unique approach to wedding photography. Their organic storytelling and editorial style created timeless images that captured a wedding day’s genuine emotions and intricate details.

The wedding ceremony took place in the heart of a lush jungle. As guests arrived, they were greeted by the serene sounds of nature and beautifully arranged seating that blended with the environment. The chairs were rustic and elegant, made of natural wood and adorned with soft, white cushions, ensuring the focus remained on the couple and the stunning jungle backdrop.

The space was anchored by a breathtaking arch constructed from interlocking wooden blocks and adorned with a lush array of flowers, including phalaenopsis orchids, roses, anthurium, amaranthus, and dry foliage. The aisle, lined with delicate petals and lanterns, led to the arch where Jaeda and Peter exchanged vows. Large terracotta vases filled with pampas grass and white roses flanked the entrance, adding a touch of rustic charm to the setting. The overall color palette was soft and natural, with hints of gold and blush.

I expected to be very nervous and cry my makeup off, but the opposite happened. I felt calm, grounded, and incredibly amazed to see one of my most significant manifestations come to life. Our ceremony was created with a spiritual and manifestation focus, which we absolutely loved.

The ceremony itself was deeply personal and spiritual. Jaeda and Peter chose a family friend to officiate their wedding, adding emotional depth to the proceedings. Jaeda’s entrance was a moment of pure magic. As the first notes of “At Last” by Etta James played, she walked down the aisle, escorted by her mother. This was a tribute to their close bond and her mother’s unwavering support. As Jaeda and Peter were pronounced husband and wife, the guests erupted in joyous celebration. The couple’s first kiss as a newlyweds was a moment of pure joy.

The reception at Kima Tulum was an unforgettable celebration. The area was adorned with hanging lanterns and fairy lights, which twinkled like stars against the backdrop of the pool. The floral arrangements on the tables were masterpieces of bohemian artistry. The muted, earthy tones combined with the lush greenery of the jungle created a visually stunning and cohesive look. Each place setting was meticulously arranged with elegant glassware and fine china. Tall, white taper candles in minimalist holders were placed strategically along the tables, creating a dreamy and romantic atmosphere.

Jaeda and Peter enjoyed having their private dinner table. Spending time alone to giggle and eat together was a highlight. The couple chose tacos for the main wedding meal, creating an intimate and fun dining experience. The taco bar was a unique touch everyone loved, adding to the intimate and relaxed atmosphere of the night.

The newlyweds’ first dance song was “Just the Two of Us” by Lucy Ellis, a beautiful and elegant choice. They took dance lessons to feel confident and impress their guests, and this experience brought them closer together. Building their playlists over several months ensured the music was perfect, and the compliments they received made it all worthwhile.

The bride says, “We truly lit up the jungle—it was the best experience of my life The party was incredible, the most fun I’ve ever had.”

Jaeda and Peter planned to dance all night, so they extended the party by an extra hour to enjoy every moment. Their contagious energy and talent brought the party to life, keeping everyone on their feet. The dance made their wedding day a true reflection of their love and happiness. It was a night that no one would ever forget.

Advice from the couple:
