On a spring day in Napa Valley, Reyna and Jacob tied the knot in a celebration that was nothing short of a joyful, detail-rich dream. Set at the Hilltop Vineyard Lawn and Courtyard at Carneros Resort and Spa, the wedding combined scenic California charm with whimsical decor and plenty of personal flair. Every element, from the floral swing to the custom pizza boxes, spoke volumes about the couple’s playful and intentional spirit. Tanner Castro captured the day with a keen eye for emotion, color, and movement, preserving the magic from the morning laughs to the vibrant dinner.
Location: Napa, California, USA
Style: Whimsical, Cheerful, Romantic
Time of planning: 10 months
Number of guests: 129
Setting: Resort
Season: Spring
Reyna and Jacob’s journey began in Salt Lake City thanks to a swipe on Hinge, despite growing up just 15 minutes apart in California. Their story unfolded long-distance at first, with Reyna in Denver and Jacob in Utah, until love brought them back to the place where it all began. Jacob proposed on the steps of the Utah State Capitol, surrounded by florals and framed memories of their relationship. As Reyna followed the arrow-marked path through their history, she found Jacob waiting with a heartfelt proposal and a surprise gathering of loved ones.
“It was, without a doubt, the perfect proposal,” shared the bride.
Bridal Fashion
Reyna wore a reimagined NEWHITE ‘Aceno’ dress, tailored with strapless ease and a bow detail moved to the back for a cleaner silhouette. Sourced from Alta Moda Bridal, it embodied her love for airy textures and a minimalist yet romantic structure. She paired the look with Prada patent leather slingbacks in “powder” and Maison Francis Kurkdjian‘s “A La Rose” for a fresh, feminine fragrance.
Bridal makeup and hair by Christi Reynolds Beauty felt soft and timeless, perfectly complementing the elegance of her dress. Reyna’s bouquet by Fig & Vine Florist was a delicate, garden-inspired arrangement of ivory blooms, dancing poppies, and fresh greenery.
The bridesmaids, dressed in their own mix of pastels and floral patterns, carried woven baskets instead of traditional bouquets.
Groom’s Look
Jacob opted for a classic white tuxedo jacket with a black bow tie and a simple ranunculus boutonniere. For the reception, he changed into a black jacket, subtly shifting his look for the evening without losing the refined tone. His groomsmen wore black tuxes, keeping the look timeless and cohesive.
First Look
Before the festivities began, Reyna and Jacob carved out a quiet moment for just the two of them. Their first look took place in a flower-lined garden path, where Jacob was instantly overcome with emotion. The tender moment was filled with joyful tears, laughter, and deep presence. Kenzie Victory captured this moment beautifully, preserving the intimacy with her signature warmth and attention to emotion.
"Reyna and Jacob’s first look was one of the most emotional and memorable moments of the day."

Ceremony
The ceremony unfolded beneath an airy floral arch, set against the rolling hills of Napa Valley. Hilltop Vineyard Lawn provided a panoramic backdrop of vineyards and wildflowers, giving guests the feel of being suspended in a springtime dream. The floral design by Fig & Vine was light, natural, and textural, with soft pastel tones that fluttered in the breeze.
The couple exchanged vows surrounded by family, friends, and a soundtrack played by Bella Rosa String Quartet.
Tanner Castro Films captured the emotion of the moment beautifully, highlighting the serene elegance of the landscape and the candid reactions of Reyna and Jacob as they made their promises.
Cocktail Hour with a Twist
As the ceremony flowed into cocktail hour, guests were treated to an array of unexpected delights. Wood-fired pizza and oysters, two of Reyna and Jacob’s favourites, were served fresh, with the pizza arriving in custom boxes labelled with their names. It was a hit not just for its taste, but also for the personal touch.
Drinks flowed from a stylish bar backed by floral arrangements and citrus garlands, where signature cocktails honored their husky, Rip. The most talked-about drink of the evening? A zero-proof Piña Colada mocktail that kept guests cool and sipping into the evening. A live event illustrator also sketched guest portraits as personalized keepsakes—a sweet surprise that brought smiles all around.
Decor & Setting
The reception design brought Reyna and Jacob’s playful vision to life with layered textures and a springtime colour palette. Tables were set with soft sage linens, floral chargers and muted pink napkins. A mix of wooden and round tables created a relaxed and inviting layout. Centrepieces of pastel blooms and moss added a fresh, garden-like feel, while vintage plates, custom menus, and colourful glassware completed the joyful look.
One of the standout design moments was the seating chart by Shimmer & Stain. Instead of table numbers, each table was named after a meaningful place from Reyna and Jacob’s story, brought to life with hand-drawn illustrations. Set against a soft buttercream backdrop and framed with wild greenery, it featured the sweet quote: “all the best people in all our favorite places.” These thoughtful touches, designed with help from planner Curated by Grace & White, made the entire space feel layered and lived-in.
Reception
Dinner unfolded under string lights and clear spring skies. Guests mingled by the outdoor fireplace, danced under the stars, and laughed through heartfelt toasts. The couple’s first dance was a relaxed and sweet moment that ushered in a night of celebration.
Peaches Custom Cookies and Cakes created a beautifully understated cake that echoed the natural palette with painted floral details. Later in the evening, guests enjoyed a spread of classic donuts. As the dance floor filled, guests donned glittering cowboy hats and oversized sunglasses, turning the party into a full-on celebration.
With the DJ from Extreme Productions, the evening flowed with nonstop music, laughter, and joyful chaos. Tanner highlight these high-energy moments with the same elegance and authenticity, closing out the day with the kind of joyful footage that feels like living the memory all over again.
