An Early Summer Elopement Against the Breathtaking Coast

Location: Mendocino County, California, USA
Setting: Beach
Season: Summer
How long did the couple plan the event: 5 months
Number of guests: 2
Wedding theme/style: Modern, coastal.

Andrea and Jonathan met on a dating app, where their shared interests and mutual attraction quickly became evident. Their first date, over wine and appetizers, was filled with an instant connection. Jonathan proposed on Andrea’s birthday at Domaine Carneros in Napa, and after Andrea said “yes,” they celebrated their engagement with lots of champagne.

The perfect Friday night for this couple involves exploring new restaurants and enjoying cocktails together. Despite their busy lives with a toddler, they cherish any alone time they can find. Andrea and Jonathan’s favorite activities include hiking, traveling, and discovering new places, all while enjoying nature and good food, which led them to this breathtaking elopement.

Harbor House Inn was an ideal option for their elopement. This luxury hotel rests on the edge of the rustic Mendocino coastline. The couple stayed in the deluxe cottage called “the Madrone,” with an oceanview patio deck, fireplace, sitting room, and king-size bedroom.

When it came to their wedding portraits, they wanted to be captured as a happy, in love, and timeless couple, with a touch of moody vibes to emphasize their deep connection. Hey Honey Photography made their dream come true with unique charm, making photos even better than the couple had dared to dream.

The bride looked stunning in an off-the-shoulder lace wedding gown by Jenny Yoo, which featured intricate floral patterns and a fitted bodice that flowed into a voluminous skirt. Her long, wavy hair was left down, cascading beautifully over her shoulders, and adorned with a classic veil. She wore elegant, pearl-embellished heels that complemented her dress perfectly. Her natural and radiant makeup enhanced her features without overpowering her look. The simplicity and elegance of her jewelry added to her overall sophisticated appearance.

The groom chose a classic black suit and tie, with a crisp white shirt. “Jonathan did such a great job during his formals,” said the bride, “his look totally reminded me of a young George Clooney!”

Later, they had a first look at the hotel’s library. This moment was filled with emotion and genuine laughs.

The ceremony was held in the garden with the Northern California coast as a backdrop. This intimate setting, with just the couple, their officiant, and their photographer, highlighted the personal and profound nature of their commitment to each other. As Andrea and Jonathan exchanged vows, the sound of the waves and the coast’s beauty connected, creating the moment’s magic.

After the ceremony, the couple hiked down to the private beach, a short and scenic descent. “We enjoyed an extended bridal session with perfect lighting that allowed us to take perfect photos,” share the bride. They will cherish this intimate, beautiful day forever and keep it in their hearts as a symbol of their deep connection where only two matters.
