Anthony and Danielle met while both were in graduate school to become psychotherapists. They had been friends for about a year and started dating after a group camping trip to Sequoia National Park. The couple live in Los Angeles and had been together for 6 years before deciding to plan their destination wedding on the Amalfi Coast in Italy.

Emma Events, the planner, masterfully harmonized the wedding elements with the venue’s historic charm and seaside views, creating a cohesive and elegant experience. Every detail, from the color palette and the floral arrangements to the couple’s attire, was thoughtfully selected to complement the surroundings, enhancing the site’s natural beauty.

The wedding took place at the stunning Anantara Convento di Amalfi Hotel. “We loved the idea of respecting the environment, considering that the wedding was set in a convent dating back to the XII century. Keeping this in mind, at Emma Events, we work on the mood board and suggest the right element to enhance the beauty of the place,” said the planner.

Danielle wore the Santana dress with a custom bodice by Viero Bridal and nude high heels by Badgley Mischka adorned with large, sparkling rhinestones.

“My dad is a jeweler, and he made my engagement ring and wedding band, which was very special to me! I also wore my mom’s sapphire ring, on the other hand, as my “something borrowed and something blue.” Anthony’s wedding band was also from my parents’ jewelry store, and it had a texture that looked like tree bark inspired by his love of the outdoors,” shared the bride.

The groom is wearing a tailored light blue suit paired with a white shirt and a matching blue tie accented by a boutonnière of delicate white orchids.

One of the couple’s most memorable moments on the wedding day was their first look: “We wanted the day to feel very personal to us, Danielle shared.

“A destination wedding is always a very special occasion to visit a beautiful place, afar from home, with your family and close friends. Danielle and Anthony’s wedding was so special because it was very intimate, and you could feel how much everyone was involved in their story and how much love they shared,” said the planning team at Emma Events

The ceremony took place at the historical cloister inside the hotel. “We wrote our own vows and had one of our close friends officiate the wedding. We loved that he passed our rings around to everyone at the ceremony so they could set good intentions for our marriage. It felt special to have our friends and family included in that way during the ceremony,” the bride shared.

After the ceremony, all guests went to the reception area along the Walk of the Monks, where the monks used to pray. “This Promenade is still part of the Anantara Convento di Amalfi,” said the wedding planner.

They had a beautiful grand table overlooking Amalfi town. Centerpieces of white and blush flowers, combined with lit candles, created a serene dining atmosphere. The area is accented by a pergola adorned with purple bougainvillea, contrasting the calm, neutral tones of the table settings.

The reception was filled with enjoyable music and warm words from the couple’s closest people: “We made sure to play songs throughout the evening that we knew were special to our guests such as their own wedding songs or songs we know they love to dance to,” Danielle shared. The reception continued until very late at night under the massive orange full moon, which made it feel even more magical.

Advice from the couple:

If you’re able to accommodate it in your budget, get a planner! A planner named Emma BiFulco, specifically. Especially if doing a destination wedding. It made the process so much easier and we didn’t have to worry at all about how the day would go knowing that we were in good hands.

We tasked a friend with reminding us to pause and take it all in a few times throughout the wedding day. It’s easy to get caught up in the whirlwind, and it goes by so fast, so we loved having those reminders to be present and really enjoy the day.
