A Wedding With Greek Isles Energy and Big-City Romance

Featured Members

From New York to Santorini and back again, Keegan and Matt’s wedding was a vibrant, sun-drenched celebration of their transatlantic love story. Set against the stunning backdrop of the Statue of Liberty and the Manhattan skyline, their day was filled with bold blooms, Mediterranean charm, and all the joy two people could possibly fit into one unforgettable summer evening.

Location: Brooklyn, New York, USA
Style: Greece meets Brooklyn, romantic, chic
Time of planning: 1,5 years
Number of guests: 175
Setting: Waterside warehouse
Season: Summer

Keegan and Matt’s story began almost 9 years ago, when a fast connection turned into something deeper, even as Keegan moved to Cambridge, UK for grad school just two months later. They kept their bond strong with visits across continents — from romantic strolls in Paris to cheering at The Game between their alma maters, Harvard and Yale. When Keegan started her PhD in Massachusetts and Matt took a job in San Francisco, they kept their love alive with coast-to-coast visits full of adventure: hiking, cycling, apple picking, comedy shows, and more.

Eventually, Matt moved to Boston to be with Keegan — just weeks before COVID. What was supposed to be a short visit turned into months of lockdown with her family, and by the end of it, Matt had truly become part of the home they were building. He proposed in Santorini under a breathtaking sunset, marking the start of their next chapter together.

Couple's Fashion

Keegan’s wedding look embodied elegant simplicity — natural, warm, and quietly refined. She wore the ethereal Katikies gown by Suzanne Neville, fittingly named after the very hotel in Santorini where Matt proposed. Purchased from Wedding Atelier in Manhattan, the dress felt like destiny. Keegan completed her look with a soft, radiant glow and her signature half-up, half-down hairstyle, brought to life by Tara Gervacio Beauty. Her Betsey Johnson shoes and Cynthia Britt rings added delicate, personal touches — nothing too bold, just beautifully her.

Matt opted for timeless elegance with a twist. His custom tuxedo from Suit Supply, crafted in silk with a classic bowtie and suspenders, was all clean lines and understated charm. The tuxedo collar was engraved with their wedding date, and his initials were stitched inside the jacket — a nod to detail without distraction. On his feet, he wore the suede tuxedo slip-ons, striking the perfect balance between formal and fresh. Ever grounded, Matt kept his grooming loyal: a $25 cash-only haircut from his regular Boston barber, just the way he’s always done it.

From the very beginning, every moment of Keegan and Matt’s wedding was captured with stunning artistry by Teodora Simon, whose elegant, sun-soaked images brought the entire day to life. Her eye for light and detail showcased the breathtaking beauty of the venue, the vibrant Mediterranean-inspired decor, and most importantly, the undeniable connection between the couple. From quiet, candid moments to the electric energy of the reception, every photo felt timeless.

Ceremony

The ceremony took place at the breathtaking Liberty Warehouse, a waterfront venue in Red Hook, Brooklyn, offering sweeping views of New York Harbor and the Statue of Liberty herself. Rows of crisp white chairs framed a stunning aisle lined with delicate florals by The Avenue J Florist that seemed to float in the sunlight. The floral design played with height, texture, and soft color palettes — perfectly complementing the open sky and sparkling water beyond. The whole setting felt like a dream suspended between sea and skyline, with the Manhattan silhouette in the distance bearing witness to Keegan and Matt’s vows.

It was a deeply personal and heartfelt celebration, officiated by Keegan’s close college friend, whose warmth and humor set the perfect tone. Keegan and Matt made it a priority to include loved ones throughout the ceremony, with meaningful readings from each of their aunts that added a tender, multigenerational touch.

The true highlight came when the couple exchanged their own vows — beautifully written, honest, and full of love and laughter. Without planning it, both Keegan and Matt touched on the same joys and quirks they cherish in each other: the little traditions they’ve built, the adventures they share, and the endearing habits that make them uniquely them. Their vows were so in sync, it felt like a quiet affirmation of how deeply they understand and love one another — funny, moving, and unforgettable.

"Don’t wish anything to go to quickly because it only happens once!"

Cocktail Hour

As the ceremony gave way to cocktail hour, guests seamlessly transitioned to the expansive waterfront terrace, now glowing under strings of cafe lights and the golden touch of late afternoon sun. With the Manhattan skyline shimmering across the harbor, loved ones gathered around high-top tables and mingled along the brick-lined patio, drinks in hand and smiles all around.

The floral arrangements from the ceremony subtly carried over into the cocktail hour, adding a sense of continuity and soft bursts of color that complemented the easy, unhurried flow of conversation and celebration. The entire scene felt like a love letter to summer in the city — elegant, effortless, and full of warmth. As Keegan and Matt rejoined their guests on the terrace, the energy lifted naturally.

Decor & Setting

Keegan and Matt’s special day was a heartfelt tribute to their transatlantic love story — rooted in New York City, shaped by adventures across Europe, and sealed with a proposal in Santorini. They dreamed of a celebration that captured the romance of the Mediterranean while honoring the energy and charm of the city where it all began. With the help of AWE by Kerry, guests were transported into a sun-soaked world inspired by Greece, Italy, and Spain.

A ceiling of cascading greenery, dotted with woven lanterns and soft floral accents, created an immersive canopy overhead — bringing the outdoors in and setting a tone of effortless elegance. Below, round tables were dressed in blue-and-white patterned linens, each one thoughtfully layered with vibrant arrangements in sun-washed tones of yellow, ivory, and soft blue.

Terracotta vessels, fresh lemons, and hand-lettered ceramic table markers added warmth and personality, echoing a southern European aesthetic that was rustic, joyful, and inviting. Amber votives and woven rattan details completed the look, casting a golden glow as the evening unfolded. Every table felt like its own story — organic yet refined, with delicate glassware, satin napkins, and thoughtful touches that tied the entire vision together.

Reception

The reception was a full-sensory celebration. Toasts flowed, delivered with heart and humor by Keegan’s sister and maid of honor, and Matt’s college roommate and best man. Laughter, tears, and clinking glasses carried through the room, setting the tone for what was to come.

The first dance was a moment Keegan almost skipped — nerves had crept in, and she wasn’t sure she wanted all eyes on them. But Matt, calm and reassuring, reminded her that it didn’t have to be perfect to be loved. And then, the music started. They stepped into their choreographed routine — one they had practiced together during lessons — and something shifted. The nerves melted away, replaced by laughter, rhythm, and sheer joy. Matt lit up the room — his grin was absolutely unforgettable, soaking in every beat of the spotlight and loving every second of it. By the end, Keegan couldn’t stop smiling either.

And then came the cake — a lemon blueberry masterpiece that Keegan and Matt both swear is the best they’ve ever had. They loved it so much they spent the week after the wedding eating leftovers and have the top tier carefully saved for their one-year anniversary.

But nothing could match the energy that exploded once the live band from iReserve Entertainment started. The dance floor became electric, packed from the first song to the last with guests singing at the top of their lungs and moving with pure abandon. The music — an irresistible mix of pop, hip hop, and wedding classics — had everyone dancing like it was the only night that mattered. Keegan and Matt led the charge, breaking it down, grinning ear to ear, completely in the moment.

The magic of the day wasn’t just in the details — though every element was flawlessly executed. What made it unforgettable were the moments woven between. The couple didn’t want to go to bed. They didn’t want the day to end. It was, in every way, the best day of their lives — and they’ve never seen each other so happy.

Advice from the couple:

Savor every aspect, every part of the day, even the seemingly mundane things.
Don’t sweat the little things. It is all about the energy that the couple brings. If the couple is loving it and having a great time, everyone else will too.
Be in the moment.
