A Wedding Vacation at Lake Como with 7 Bridal Dresses

Jimmy and Bella chose Lake Como for a celebration that felt timeless and personal. They invited forty-two of their closest friends and family to spend three days together filled with connection and shared joy. The style, described by the couple as modern, chic, and intimate, reflected their vision. The couple is most thankful for working with Figli Dei Fiori, responsible for flowers, styling, and choosing Villa Làrio. Both helped bring their vision to life.

Location: Lake Como, Italy
Style: Modern, Elegant, Cinematic
Time of planning: 6 months
Number of guests: 42
Setting: Villa
Season: Summer

Jimmy met Bella through a close friend, and a simple introduction grew into something unforgettable. For Jimmy, it was immediate. He pursued her with persistence, and within a month, they were together.

The proposal matched the intensity of their love. Jimmy secretly booked an immersive light installation and told Bella they were going to an art exhibit. As she stepped inside, the entire space lit up with 360-degree projections of animated flowers moving to music he had curated. In the center of that glowing world, he asked her to marry him.

From the beginning, they imagined a wedding that would reflect the same qualities as their relationship: devoted, joyful, and filled with trust. They wanted three days where their closest people could slow down, connect, and celebrate together.

Bride's Morning & Fashion

The morning opened with clear skies over Lake Como. Bella spent these hours surrounded by her closest friends, all dressed in soft cream and butter tones that echoed the calm of the setting. From the terrace, the view stretched across the lake and mountains, a backdrop as serene as the start of the day itself.

Bella appeared in seven different looks over three days, each chosen with precision. Her style was built on simplicity and chic details.

For the ceremony, she wore a strapless gown by Wink Atelier. The structured bodice gave a clean line, while the skirt in jacquard fabric carried a subtle floral pattern visible under the light. Her veil was floor-length with lace edging and embroidery of “Bella & Jimmy” along with the wedding date.

She paired her gowns with heels from Jimmy Choo, Christian Louboutin, and Rene Caovilla. For the ceremony, she wore Bvlgari Fiorever High Jewelry, carried a bouquet by Figli Dei Fiori, and chose a perfume by Heir, a brand founded by a close friend. Her hair and makeup were refreshed for each appearance.

She was cinematicSo beautiful I couldn’t believe she was real.

Groom's Fashion

Jimmy wore a custom Solbiati linen shirt for the welcome dinner, a beige linen suit for the boat tour and afternoon, and a white suit and black tuxedo by Lancer Atelier for the ceremony and dinner. His shoes were by Maison Margiela and Christian Louboutin, and he wore a 9437 energy bracelet designed by his cousin.

“I wanted to feel relaxed and present. Linen felt right for the lake. Ceremony and dinner could be formal, but the rest had to feel like me.”

Ceremony

The ceremony was held in Cedar Garden, overlooking the lake and framed by Villa Làrio’s trees. In Chinese culture, mountains and water symbolize balance and fortune, and for Italians, Lake Como is said to be “kissed by God.” Both meanings resonated with Jimmy and Bella.

The space was transformed by Figli Dei Fiori, who created a design that worked with the landscape rather than against it. The aisle was framed with layered arrangements of white and cream flowers, mixed with grasses and greenery to echo the natural textures of the garden. The florals were kept low and organic, opening the view toward the lake instead of blocking it.

They chose a non-religious form, light in structure but full of emotion. Bridesmaids and groomsmen stood nearby as Bella entered. Jimmy could not hold back his tears. I saw the light hit her face, her veil caught the breeze, and everything else disappeared. All I saw was her.

The vows were deeply personal, each line written by the couple to reflect their story. Many guests wiped away tears, and the garden was filled with applause, laughter, and relief. Friends rushed to embrace them, champagne was waiting nearby, and the celebration flowed naturally into the cocktail hour.

Cocktail Hour

After the ceremony, guests gathered for an aperitif overlooking the lake. Champagne flowed freely, and a tower of coupe glasses became the centerpiece of the hour. Friends and family toasted continuously, turning the moment into a relaxed celebration before dinner.

Reception & Decor

Villa Làrio provided the architecture and natural views, while Figli Dei Fiori built the atmosphere around them. The team focused on balance: keeping the palette close to the tones of the lake and gardens, while adding depth with textured florals and layered arrangements.

The tables were set with low compositions in warm shades of burgundy, cream, and blush, accented by greenery. The styling was precise, glassware reflected the evening light, and each place setting was arranged to frame the florals without overwhelming the table.

Dinner did not follow a rigid program. Instead of sitting through long courses in silence, the evening felt open and comfortable. Guests moved easily between tables, spoke with each other, and treated the reception more like a gathering among close friends than a formal banquet. That freedom was exactly what Jimmy and Bella had in mind: a night where conversation flowed as naturally as the wine.

Later Bella changed into a gown by Maison Saros for the cake cutting. The dress was light, with clean lines and a touch of evening elegance, contrasting with the structure of her ceremony look. Together the couple cut a millefoglie, a traditional Italian cake layered with cream and topped with fresh berries. Shared among all, it became a highlight of the evening.

Into the Night

As the evening turned into night, the atmosphere shifted into gold. Candlelight reflected on glassware and metallic accents, giving the space a warmer and more festive tone. The candlelit reception gave way to a lively party with music, games, and nonstop dancing.

For the afterparty Bella switched into her final look by Freja: a short metallic dress with a structured bodice, bold print, and layered asymmetrical skirt. The dress caught the light with every movement and matched the energy of the dance floor. It was a striking contrast to her earlier gowns, showing a different side of her style and closing the night on a high note.

Other Days

The three-day wedding felt less like a formal event and more like a family holiday. Forty-two guests, many friends of ten to thirty years, shared every moment as if they were one extended family. The welcome dinner set the tone, with everyone dressed in light summer tones, catching up over long tables by the lake.

On the second day Jimmy and Bella organized a boat tour, giving everyone a chance to see the lake together. Many guests were couples, some even on their honeymoons, which added to the sense of romance in the air.

Meals were leisurely, conversations ran late, and every shared experience deepened the feeling of reunion. The wedding never slipped into stiff tradition but remained warm, relaxed, and intimate, a true reflection of Jimmy and Bella’s vision.

Advice from the couple:

分工清楚,婚姻幸福。”

Let your partner lead on the vision, and you execute. Trust each other, and don’t sweat the small stuff.

It’s your wedding. Soak it in. Be present. Laugh hard. And don’t drink until you puke at the afterparty.
