A Vibrant Wedding in the Czech Republic Inspired by Italy

Lucie and Tomáš’s wedding was a vibrant, joy-filled celebration inspired by their love for Italy and a desire to create something deeply personal. Set at Chateau Mcely, the day unfolded naturally, blending thoughtful design with an effortless energy that reflected the couple’s connection, their love for family, and their playful, expressive spirit. Planned and brought to life by Boutique Weddings Prague, the entire experience came together perfectly, turning their vision into a celebration that felt both elevated and true to them.

Location: Mcely, Czech Republic
Style: Chic, Italian Vibe, Colorful
Time of planning: 12 months
Number of guests: 70
Setting: Chateau
Season: Summer

Lucie and Tomáš met in an art gallery where he worked, a moment that, while seemingly spontaneous, had been quietly set in motion by their friends for nearly a year. “It wasn’t a total coincidence,” Lucie shares. “Our friends had been trying to set us up for almost a year, and eventually, it finally happened.”

Two years later, Tomáš proposed in Rome, Lucie’s favorite city, making the moment feel especially personal. “It felt incredibly special,” she says. When planning their wedding, the couple kept their vision simple and intentional. “We wanted a relaxed atmosphere surrounded by the people we love, without unnecessary stress or over-the-top formality.”

Planning Details

The wedding concept was shaped around a shared love for Italy and the feeling of effortless summer joy, brought to life by the team at Boutique Weddings Prague, who turned the couple’s vision into reality. “Our goal was to create an atmosphere that felt relaxed yet intentional, colorful, vibrant, and full of life,” the planner shares, “while still being practical and comfortable regardless of the weather.” At the heart of the design was a spacious tented lounge, thoughtfully created as a place where the entire celebration could unfold naturally, rain or shine, without losing its mood or elegance.

Drawing inspiration from Italian summer living, long lunches, good wine, and spontaneous moments, the concept leaned into a lifestyle rather than a specific reference. “We didn’t look to a particular film or era,” they explain, “but instead to the Italian way of life itself, social, emotional, and a little playful.” This translated into bold, joyful colors and a layout designed to encourage movement and connection, creating a space where guests could gather, interact, and fully experience the celebration together.

Bride's Fashion

The morning began with special touches, setting a vibrant, personal tone from the very beginning, wonderfully captured by Katka Koncal & Ludmila Esterková. Bridesmaids wore colorful gowns and carried coordinated bags, bringing energy and individuality into the getting-ready moments.

For the rehearsal dinner, Lucie wore a Stella McCartney dress with Aquazzura heels, setting the tone for a look that felt both polished and effortless. On the wedding day, she chose an Aire Barcelona gown styled with Manolo Blahnik shoes in their signature green, later changing into a Pronovias dress with Christian Louboutin heels for the evening.

Accessories were kept minimal: small blue diamond earrings and a Tiffany necklace, with Cartier wedding bands adding a timeless finish. “I wanted my hair and makeup to feel natural and effortless,” Lucie shares, keeping the overall beauty look soft and understated. She carried a classic white bouquet for the ceremony, later switching to a colorful floral “bag” created by their florist, a playful detail she especially loved.

Groom's Fashion

Tomáš wore a tailor-made suit in their signature light green for the day, in perfect alignment with the wedding’s overall palette, before changing into a minimal beige suit for the evening. His boutonniere was thoughtfully prepared by his maid of honor, adding a personal touch, while beige moccasins completed the look with an effortless, relaxed finish.

Ceremony

The ceremony took place in the castle gardens beneath a centuries-old tree, creating a setting that felt natural, peaceful, and quietly emotional. “We wanted an outdoor ceremony that felt real, not staged,” Lucie shares, with colorful florals adding a light, cheerful touch without overwhelming the space. The palette leaned into soft, summery tones layered with natural textures, perfectly enhancing the atmosphere.

Walking down the aisle to live music became one of the most memorable moments. “Tomáš had tears in his eyes when I walked down,” Lucie shares, “and again during my piano performance.” It was a ceremony filled with emotion and intention, where every element, from the setting to the styling, came together to feel deeply personal and effortlessly beautiful.

Reception

The reception began in the castle’s main restaurant, where serpentine tables were arranged alongside a central round table reserved for the couple and their closest family. The table was styled as a small floral garden, creating a soft, intimate focal point within the space while maintaining an elegant, relaxed overall setting.

As a surprise for Tomáš, Lucie prepared a deeply personal moment. She learned to play the piano and performed Can’t Help Falling in Love by Elvis Presley before lunch, the same song he had walked to during the ceremony. “It was emotional and terrifying for me,” she shares, “but worth it,” turning it into one of the most memorable highlights of the day.

Outdoor Reception

“I love nature and animals, and choosing just one color felt impossible,” Lucie shares. “That’s why I decided on a colorful wedding instead, something joyful, warm, and full of positive energy.” From the very beginning, the intention was clear: to create a space where everyone felt comfortable, welcomed, and uplifted, with every detail reflecting their personality and spirit.

After lunch, the celebration continued in a custom-built tent designed in their signature palette. Personal touches appeared throughout, from signature cocktails created for the bride, the groom, and even their dog, to a playful merchandise detail inspired by him.

For the cake, they chose a mille-feuille, finished at the table, turning dessert into an interactive and memorable moment for guests. Their first dance to “L-O-V-E” followed, made even more special by the lessons they had taken beforehand, allowing them to fully relax and enjoy it, before the bridesmaids surprised everyone with a joyful Mamma Mia-inspired performance.

Food played a central role in the experience, with Italian-inspired gastronomy, fresh pizza, sweet treats, and gelato with a lively bar that became the heart of the evening. Personal elements were woven into every part of the day, reflecting what mattered most to them: family, humor, warmth, and their love for dogs. The result was a celebration that felt emotional yet light, where style, atmosphere, and genuine connection came together in a truly unforgettable Italian-inspired wedding.

Into The Night

The evening party was unforgettable, with a live band, a saxophonist, and a DJ setting the tone for a night full of energy. Surrounded by their closest friends, Lucie and Tomáš danced late into the night, fully immersed in the celebration.
