Set amidst the lush greenery of Flora Farms in Los Cabos, Lorelei and Nicholas’s wedding was a vibrant fusion of culture, color, and personal storytelling. From the lively welcome dinner with an acoustic serenade to the grand reception adorned with hand-painted Talavera-inspired details, every element was designed with meaning and joy. With the expertise of Amy Abbott Events, the couple wove their shared passions into a multi-day celebration that honored their love of travel, family, and the natural beauty of the venue.

Location: San José del Cabo, Mexico
Style: Elegant, Vibrant, Playful
Time of planning: 15 months
Number of guests: 150
Setting: Garden
Season: Spring

Lorelei and Nicholas’s journey began in 2011 at Colorado College, but their story truly started years later, in 2018, when their paths finally intertwined. Their connection was instant, built on a shared love for the outdoors, concerts, food, and various activities. Nicholas’s proposal in London’s Hyde Park, surrounded by family and friends, set the stage for a wedding filled with the same warmth and joy. A day neither of them will ever forget. Every moment of their celebration reflected their journey—thoughtful, colorful, and deeply personal.

Concept & Inspiration
The couple dreamed of a wedding that felt like an elegant garden party, smoothly integrating the natural beauty of the venue. Inspired by the pink bougainvillea from Lorelei’s childhood and the deep cobalt blue of traditional Talavera pottery, they curated a bold and sophisticated color palette. Birds became an unexpected yet meaningful motif, honoring Nicholas’s lifelong love of birdwatching. From hand-painted bird-themed dinner plates to tin bird ornaments as keepsakes for guests, this detail added a deeply personal touch.
"One point I want to emphasize is that I had a vision of what I wanted my wedding to be. However, Pamela Franssen at Amy Abbots made it come to life. Without her, I would not have had the wedding of my dreams."

Location & Planning
Nestled in San José del Cabo, Flora Farms provided an idyllic setting with its lush gardens and rustic elegance. Known for its organic farm-to-table philosophy, the venue perfectly complemented the couple’s love for nature and fresh cuisine. The farm’s open-air spaces allowed the beauty of the surroundings to become an integral part of the celebration.

Vibrant florals by Pina, carefully curated to reflect the couple’s vision, filled every corner—bougainvillea, roses, and ranunculus in fiery shades of pink, coral, and fuchsia created a seamless harmony with the natural landscape. The explosion of color against the farm’s greenery felt like an extension of the lush setting, transforming the venue into a blooming paradise that embodied both romance and festivity.
Welcome Dinner
The festivities began with a colorful welcome dinner at Hotel El Ganzo’s rooftop, setting the tone for the weekend. “It was a gorgeous evening hosted by Jim and Margy Titus,” shared the bride. Guests were greeted with custom papel picado banners, a lively taco bar, and an intimate acoustic guitar performance. The tablescapes included photos of couples throughout childhood to add a more personal touch. The evening served as both a celebration and an opportunity for guests to reconnect before the big day.

"I believe that for a wedding, especially a destination wedding, this type of event is important and allows guests to feel more comfortable."

Bridal Morning & Fashion
The bride’s morning was filled with excitement as she got ready with her closest friends and family. Lorelei wore the Alena Leena “Mimosa” gown, a stunning balance of structure and softness that felt both timeless and unique. Her Oyster veil by Untamed Petals added a dreamy, delicate touch.

But what truly made her look special were the personal elements—an opal ring passed down from her late grandmother and gold bangles that honored her Goan roots. Her glam beauty by Los Cabos Makeup was all about elegance, with soft waves and a natural, luminous finish.

Lorelei’s bridesmaids embraced a vibrant and stylish approach, each wearing a different shade of a floral-patterned dress from Borgo de Nor. The result was a beautifully coordinated yet unique look, reflecting their personalities while still feeling cohesive.
Nicholas looked sharp in a light blue custom three-piece suit from Suitsupply Denver, a perfect nod to the wedding’s vibrant palette and lush garden setting.

First Look
Against the serene waters of El Ganzo’s marina, Lorelei and Nicholas shared an emotional first look. Glances, smiles, kisses—it was truly beautiful. The private moment allowed them to soak in the significance of the day before stepping into the festivities with their loved ones.
“I know a first look is not for everyone, and Nic and I went back and forth about the decision to do one, but I am so happy we did! Seeing Nic and spending time with him before the ceremony eased my nerves and did not take away from the emotion or experience of walking down the aisle.” added the bride.

"Our photographers, Romana and Mariano of LA76 were incredible to work with! They took the time to get to know us, which can be difficult for a destination wedding, and understand how we worked together to capture the most incredible photos and memories."

Ceremony
The ceremony space felt like a dream—a mix of color and nature, with an arch overflowing with pink bougainvillea, coral and peach roses, and lush greenery. The golden afternoon light filtered through the trees, making the vibrant flowers glow even brighter.

One of the most emotional parts of the day was Lorelei’s walk down the aisle with her father. “It’s a moment that every couple envisions long before the actual day, and there was no better feeling than when I turned the corner and made eye contact with Nic,” shared the bride.

Their heartfelt and deeply personal vows left many guests in tears. The setting, so rich with life and color, made the moment feel even more organic, as if the flowers, the sunshine, and the laughter of their guests were all part of the celebration itself.

Cocktail Hour
Following the ceremony, guests sipped on fresh farm-to-table cocktails while enjoying live music. The cocktail hour took place in a lush garden space, where a striking escort display wall guided guests to their seats. The seating chart by The Floor Is Yours, adorned with 3D floral elements, mirrored the wedding’s color palette and added an interactive, artistic touch to the experience. The lamps were impossible to miss—bold, colorful, and casting the most beautiful glow over the lounge area.

Servers passed around various vibrant and flavorful bites with fresh local ingredients. The mix of savory treats and refreshing drinks created a perfect balance, keeping the energy light as guests mingled beneath the warm glow of string lights.

Private Moment
Lorelei and Nicholas took a quiet moment together, walking through the fields of sunflowers, capturing photos that encapsulated the joy and intimacy of the day.

"Working with Lorelei and Nic was such a joy! Their love and happiness was contagious, and we felt like a part of the party."

Decor & Setting
The reception space was a true masterpiece. The hand-painted dance floor, inspired by Talavera pottery, was a standout feature. Disco balls twinkled above the dance area, creating a playful party vibe. “We included several unique Salvador Dali-like large “melting” disco balls which sparkled in the bar and seating areas. It was more beautiful than I could have ever imagined!” added the bride. Each guest’s seat was marked by a Mexican clay tile with a bird motif, a personalized nod to Nicholas’s love for birdwatching.

“It would be impossible for me to express my gratitude for our planner, Pamela, and her team. When we walked into our reception area, seeing mock-ups come to life, the attention to detail, and the guest experience – it was all worth it. Not only did she make our vision a reality, but she also introduced us to some of the most wonderful vendors,” the bride shared. The florals, designed by Pina, overflowed across tables, arches, and chandeliers, creating a lush and immersive atmosphere. The florals weren’t just decor; they were part of the story.

"It was an incredibly fun creative process. Bringing all those exciting ideas to life was truly rewarding!"

Reception & Party
The evening was filled with heartfelt speeches, delicious family-style dining, and non-stop dancing, thanks to the energetic live performance by Undercover Live. As the night cooled, guests were provided with cozy Mexican shawls and blankets, ensuring comfort as the celebration continued. The couple’s first dance to “6s to 9s” by Big Wild was a magical moment, with sparklers illuminating the dance floor and adding to the enchantment.

Following their dance, it was time for the cake—an elegant yet simple design that stood atop a lush floral arrangement. Surrounded by the same vibrant blooms that defined the wedding’s aesthetic, the cake became a stunning focal point before being shared with guests.

As the party continued, guests hit the dance floor, where a vibrant energy filled the air. The newlyweds led the celebration with electrifying moves, with Lorelei later changing into a dazzling fringe dress paired with white cowboy boots—a nod to her fun-loving spirit. The couple ensured their guests’ comfort by offering custom black slippers, allowing everyone to dance late into the night.

Before the night ended, a late-night feast added the perfect finishing touch—wood oven pizza was passed around alongside an array of delicious desserts, including crispy churros, hand pies filled with seasonal fruit, and rich dulce de leche. The grand finale featured a sparkler send-off, with Lorelei and Nicholas sharing a kiss amidst the golden glow of their loved ones’ cheers.

"Amy Abbott Events had surpassed our expectations. Guests kept telling me it was the most beautiful wedding they'd ever attended, but what stood out most was how at ease I felt. I could fully enjoy every moment because I trusted them completely, and that was the greatest gift."

Advice from the couple:
• Surround yourself with a team you trust. You’ll spend a lot of time with your planners and photographers, so feeling comfortable with them is key. They’re there to make your day stress-free and memorable—trust their expertise!
• Make your ceremony feel personal. Instead of a traditional wedding party, only our siblings walked down the aisle. Our closest friends got ready with us, and after our first look, we all came together for champagne and photos. It was one of our favorite moments—having our family and best friends by our side before the ceremony felt so special.
• Think about your guests’ experience. Our friends joined the rest of the guests for transportation to the venue so they could enjoy the ceremony and cocktail hour with their partners instead of being separated from the wedding party lineup.
