Lauren and Enrique first met in Houston, where they worked as real estate agents for the same company (spoiler alert: they run their agency now). Various plot twists led them both to Houston, just one year away from each other. They were lucky to connect as co-workers when their lives aligned during the brief six-month stint. Their careers overlapped at the same company.
From there, they did everything backward. Their first official ‘date’ was a week-long trip to Puerto Escondido in Oaxaca in 2020. Then they accidentally moved in together a couple of months later when the ‘two-week quarantine’ became an ‘indefinite quarantine.’ Enrique became a cat person and learned how to color hair and put in extensions; Lauren learned to accept jiu-jitsu mats all over her apartment and incorporate lime, cilantro, (and begrudgingly, hot sauce) into every meal.
Enrique and Lauren’s wedding in Mexico at the Secrets in Bahia Mita blended convenience and style. It was easier for Enrique’s family to attend without visa worries, and Lauren graciously agreed despite the travel difficulty for her family. They chose this venue for its unique architectural design, reminiscent of a spaceship emerging from the jungle, providing a striking contrast to the classic beach wedding they desired.
The bride was stunning for her wedding in a dress from Grace Love Lace, complemented by an elegant, handcrafted veil. Her makeup was skillfully done by the Glam Team at Graciela Weddings Vallarta, enhancing her natural beauty with a sophisticated and refined look that perfectly matched the grandeur of the occasion.
Lauren’s bridesmaids wore elegant black dresses, a choice that beautifully contrasted with her own bridal gown.
Enrique, dressed in a stunning black tuxedo, exuded elegance and style, fitting seamlessly into the sophisticated ambiance of the wedding. He cherished the getting-ready moments, sharing them with his close friends and father. These moments of camaraderie and bonding, filled with anticipation and joy, added a personal and heartwarming touch to the preparations, enhancing the significance of the day.
The first look between Enrique and Lauren at their wedding was truly magical, a moment akin to a journey through space. They met in the heart of the resort, surrounded by its most space-like architectural features. This setting, evoking the feel of a cosmic encounter, made their first glance at each other even more breathtaking. The modern, otherworldly design of the location provided a perfect backdrop for this intimate and memorable exchange, highlighting the unique and adventurous spirit of their love.
The wedding, impeccably planned by Paula Reynoso Weddings, featured a unique “dark tropical elegant noir” theme, where attention to detail was paramount. This sophisticated styling incorporated elements of black decor, which elegantly contrasted with dark green hues reminiscent of the tropical setting. These elements were seamlessly integrated with the surrounding ocean landscape, creating a harmonious yet striking visual experience. These details’ meticulous planning and coordination resulted in a captivating and atmospheric ambiance, perfectly capturing the essence of the couple’s vision for their special day.
At the ceremony held at the Martoca venue, guests were welcomed with the vibrant sounds of a Mariachi band, setting a festive and culturally rich tone as they arrived. The ceremony itself was deeply emotional, with Enrique and Lauren sharing their heartfelt vows in the presence of their loved ones. This poignant exchange, accompanied by the traditional melodies of the Mariachi, created an atmosphere of warmth and intimacy, making the ceremony a celebration of their union and a touching expression of their love and commitment.

At the reception dinner, the theme was beautifully supported by tables adorned in black and gold, a design meticulously curated by Mayte Romero Weddings. The elegance of this palette was further accentuated by the contrasting white flower arrangements, adding a touch of refined grace and visual allure to the celebration.
The cutting of the cake was a moment of shared joy and symbolized the sweetness of their new journey together. This unforgettable day, filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable displays, will remain a cherished memory for the couple and their guests for years to come.
