Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada
Style: Timeless romantic elegance
Time of planning: 16 months
Number of guests: 90
Setting: City venue
Season: Spring
Andrea and Kyle’s journey started in 2011 when they were introduced by Andrea’s best friend, Angela, who also happened to be Kyle’s former coworker. After a dinner date, life took them in different directions, but fate had other plans. In 2019, they reconnected at Angela’s engagement party, and this time, everything felt right.
As their relationship grew stronger, especially during their time together in quarantine, they knew they were ready for the next big step. Though they’d discussed marriage and even started planning, Kyle surprised Andrea with a romantic proposal in their apartment.
The Vision & Photography
Andrea and Kyle imagined their wedding as a celebration that was not only beautiful and romantic but also full of fun, music, and delicious food. Their goal was to create a party brimming with love and joy, one that they could savor just as much as their guests did.
Everglow Photography flawlessly captured the essence of this beautiful wedding day, filled with love and unforgettable moments. From the intimate exchange of vows to the quiet, personal time afterward and the joyous celebration that followed, she expertly documented every emotion shared between the couple and their loved ones. Her photos perfectly tell the story of the day, preserving the tender moments and the pure happiness that radiated throughout.
Couple's Morning & Fashion
Andrea looked absolutely stunning in her Willow Dress by Rita Vinieris from Kleinfeld Canada. The dress beautifully blended traditional and modern elements—featuring a classic train and custom buttons down the back, paired with chic, fashion-forward touches like the glamorous handless gloves. She wore Stuart Weitzman slingback pumps with a subtle sparkle to complete the look, adding a touch of elegance that perfectly matched her timeless yet stylish vibe.
The dress and tuxedo perfectly embodied the couple’s vision of “elegant simplicity,” with clean lines, minimalist details, and luxurious fabrics. Kyle’s custom tuxedo from Atelier Munro stood out, featuring a classic shawl collar that gave it a smooth, rounded shape. Personal touches were important to him, including his initials etched on the bowtie and the wedding date sewn inside the back of the collar—small yet meaningful details that added an extra layer of significance to his look.
First Look
For Kyle, one of the most important highlights of the day was the first look. As Andrea stepped out, his face lit up with pure emotion, and for a moment, it felt like time stood still. It was a chance for them to share a quiet moment before the ceremony began.
Ceremony
The ceremony was deeply personal and meaningful, filled with readings on love and marriage from iconic writers like Maya Angelou, and Khalil Gibran. Two of their closest mentors had the honor of reading these words, adding a layer of sentiment to the moment. One of the most special touches was inviting their community to join in on the second reading, symbolizing their shared commitment.
Many guests later told them that the ceremony was one of the most beautiful parts of the day—a compliment they didn’t quite expect but cherished deeply. It was a perfect reflection of the love and support surrounding them.
"The ceremony was a reflection on love as liberation, justice, equality, and community, and our vows emphasized growing and changing together."
The newlyweds
Moment Alone
Just before the celebration started, the newlyweds took a quiet moment to themselves, strolling hand in hand through the lively streets of the city. The bustling energy around them only made their walk even more special. Everglow Photography was there to capture every magical moment, creating vibrant, candid portraits that perfectly reflected the joy and excitement of the day.
Reception Decor
Working closely with their event designer, Chiara Sala, the couple envisioned an elegant, timeless wedding full of soft, romantic touches. They brought couple’s vision to life with mood boards, and together they carefully selected every detail, from floral arrangements to table settings, ensuring the day would feel both sophisticated and intimate.
The soft hues of cream, white, ivory, and blush pink set the perfect tone for their wedding, creating a warm and romantic atmosphere. The reception was a stunning blend of elegance and joy, with every detail thoughtfully planned. From the peonies and roses in the centerpieces to the ivory gauze linen napkins and personalized place cards, the table settings perfectly complemented their aesthetic. And, of course, guests were treated to delicious chocolate favors from Chocolat de Kat, each one beautifully labeled with a custom design.
The Celebration
The reception started with a lively cocktail hour, where guests sipped signature cocktails like espresso martini, negroni, Moscow mule, manhattan, and old-fashioned. As the evening continued, the atmosphere was filled with warmth and anticipation, especially as the speeches began. The couple found speeches to be one of their favorite parts of the wedding, as they offer a chance to hear heartfelt stories and learn more about the couple from the people who know them best. The sincere words left everyone laughing and crying, creating a beautiful and meaningful start to the celebration.
The cake was a showstopper, a three-tiered masterpiece by Love in Bloom Cakes, with delicate floating petals and open-blooming peonies in soft blush tones. Each tier was a delightful flavor experience: the bottom tier combined vanilla, chocolate, and Nutella, the middle tier offered a unique blend of rosemary, olive oil, honey, and dulce de leche, and the top tier was a perfect mix of vanilla, ruby chocolate, raspberry, and pistachios. It was as beautiful as it was delicious, making for a stunning centerpiece at the celebration.
For their first dance, the couple wanted something fun and upbeat, and they found the perfect song in Luther Vandross’ Never Too Much. Their talented DJ, DJ General Eclectic, made the ideal mix that made their moment in the spotlight unforgettable. Kyle shared a special dance with his mom to To Zion by Lauryn Hill. The dance floor stayed packed all night, with numerous guests asking about the DJ, who brought his incredible talent to their celebration.
"From the very beginning, we focused on making everything reflect our personalities and stories. The perfect combination of amazing vendors and detailed planning made for an effortless and fun day that we both enjoyed. It was a true reflection of our style and personalities."
The newlyweds
Advice from the couple:
• Plan and book the big items/vendors early to create a solid structure and then refine the details once that’s taken care of. Wedding checklists/apps can assist with making sure you’re on a reasonable timeline.
• Go with your gut, and don’t involve more people than necessary in the decision–making process. Talking to others about the dress, décor, details, etc., can create unnecessary stress.
• Selecting vendors that reflect your personality and style is key. It will help bring your vision to life and allow you to enjoy the day.
