Catherine and Tyler met in Washington, D.C., in the fall of 2018. Their first date was at the same restaurant where John F. Kennedy proposed to Jackie. They quickly realized they had a lot in common, and although they didn’t move too quickly at first, they continued seeing each other from that night on. Almost four years later, both sets of their parents were visiting the town. Tyler told Catherine they were going for a walk in Georgetown before meeting their parents for dinner. Catherine was reluctant because her college football team, Auburn, was playing a rivalry game and didn’t want to miss it. She complained the whole way to the “walk.” When they arrived in Georgetown, Tyler took her to a park and proposed. Unsurprisingly, Catherine felt bad for giving him a hard time. They then met their parents at the same restaurant where they had their first date. It was just the six of them, and it was perfect.

The bride envisioned a classic wedding with moody touches, and the planners at Flaire Weddings brought that vision to life. They expertly handled the entire planning process, design, and florals, ensuring every detail aligned with the couple’s ideas. The result was a beautiful and warm wedding that delighted the newlyweds and their guests.

WELCOME PARTY

Catherine and Tyler kicked off their wedding festivities with an unforgettable Welcome Party. Held under a sailcloth tent on the Croquet Lawn at the Ponte Vedra Inn and Club, the evening set a perfect tone for the celebration.

The theme was Coastal Elegance, and to make a spectacular first impression, the planners at Flaire Weddings created a lush entryway installation of greenery and blooms. Inside the tent, coastal-inspired linens with touches of blues and greens adorned the tables. Rattan lanterns and woven pendant lights over the dance floor added a magical ambiance. Cozy seating groupings near the dance floor allowed guests to mix and mingle all night long.

THE WEDDING DAY

The wedding morning was filled with warm emotions as Catherine and Tyler prepared for their special day. Catherine’s wedding dress was a unique creation by Antonio Gual, combining the bodice and skirt from two different styles to achieve the perfect look. “I didn’t know what it would look like until it arrived, but I’m so glad I made that choice,” she shared. For the after-party, she wore a chic dress by Alice and Olivia and paired it with shoes from Margaux. Catherine added a personal touch to her bouquet with her grandmother’s brooch, honoring her memory. Tyler wore a tuxedo from Suit Supply, tailored for a perfect fit, and his Del Toro shoes were engraved with their wedding date, making the day even more special.

The first look was a truly heartwarming moment for Catherine and Tyler. As they saw each other for the first time on their wedding day, their faces lit up with joy and love. The couple shared an intimate embrace, clearly cherishing the beginning of their beautiful day together.

This was the first ceremony held at the iconic Croquet Lawn at the Ponte Vedra Inn and Club. The lawn, overlooking a serene lagoon, provided a picturesque backdrop for the couple. The ceremony space was beautifully adorned with lush floral arrangements, creating an elegant and romantic atmosphere. White rose petals filled the aisle, adding a touch of classic beauty as the couple exchanged their vows under the warm glow of the setting sun.

As Catherine and Tyler stood before their loved ones, they exchanged heartfelt vows, promising to cherish and support each other for a lifetime. The officiant led them through a ceremony that was both touching and memorable. Their exchange of vows marked a beautiful beginning to their life together, making this ceremony a truly unforgettable experience.

Walking down the aisle was surreal. Seeing how beautiful everything was - our flowers, the setting (which was not where we first planned to hold the ceremony, but it was a perfect - and arguably better - back up plan), our friends and family, and everything around us was truly breathtaking.

Right before the reception, the newlyweds took some time to enjoy the golden hour with their wedding party. As the sun began to set, they all gathered together, soaking in the beautiful light and capturing some unforgettable moments. The golden hour provided a perfect backdrop, adding a magical touch to their special day.

The couple dreamed of a timeless wedding with moody touches, and their planners at Flaire Weddings brought this vision to life beautifully. The reception, held in the Grand Ballroom at the Inn and Club, featured ivory gliss draping, mahogany wood bars, and staging, along with textured beige and forest green linens. The room exuded a classic yet moody ambiance. Crystal goblets and glass chargers sparkled, complemented by florals in tones of white, ivory, beige, and mustard, with plenty of texture and greenery.

We achieved this by incorporating tones of olive green, mustard and beiges. Dark wood elements paired with textured linens in tones of beige and deep forest green brought the vision to life.

Catherine and Tyler’s wedding celebration was joyful, and they were surrounded by their loved ones. During their first dance, cold spark machines added a magical touch of sparkle—Catherine later admitted she had forgotten about them, making the moment a delightful surprise even for her! The night culminated with a lively dance party, creating unforgettable memories.

Seeing everything we had worked on for so many months come to fruition and the excitement of getting married and celebrating with our favorite people really sunk in at that moment.

Advice from the couple:

Organization and documentation are key! Stay on top of everything to the extent possible so that when things get overwhelming and details start to run together, you can refer back to your notes. For big decisions and bumps along the way, trust your instincts, and most importantly, trust your planner! You have to advocate for your ideas and expectations, but your planner is the expert and has your back.
