Melanie and Michael first crossed paths in 2018 at a local spot in Richmond, where they happened to be out with their friends one evening. It was a meeting of the old school kind that sparked their relationship.
Melanie and Michael’s wedding was set in the picturesque backdrop at the Quat Quatta, a Victorian heritage mansion. Surrounded by provincial gardens and a stunning courtyard, the venue was a perfect setting for their wedding. The couple’s affinity for heritage homes made Quat Quatta an obvious choice. They drew inspiration from the mansion’s color palette, leading to the selection of dark green for the bridesmaids’ dresses, all-white floral arrangements, and black dinner suits for the gentlemen.
Melanie’s morning was a beautiful time filled with friendly chatter, pleasant anticipation, and the bustling activities of preparing for the big event.
The bridal look was a reflection of romance and classic elegance. Melanie chose a unique dress from Eva Lendel that harmoniously blended two elements: the central part of the dress was a form-fitting sheath that highlighted her slender figure and beauty. At the same time, an attached satin skirt with a voluminous bow added a touch of grandeur and ceremonial flair.
The bridal veil, crafted by Melanie’s mother, added a deeply personal touch to her ensemble. Furthermore, Melanie honored her grandmother by attaching her wedding ring to her bouquet. The wedding also celebrated the refurbishment of cherished family heirlooms, including her mother’s pearl and gold wedding clutch and her great-grandmother’s vintage mink fur, which Melanie wore for their grand exit.
When the bridesmaids first saw Melanie in her wedding attire, it was an emotional moment that stood out as a highlight of that beautiful morning.
Michael also spent his morning preparing, surrounded by friends who joyfully provided assistance and support. He opted for an elegant, classic black suit from Institchu, complemented by a bow tie, which added a touch of sophistication to his ensemble.
The ceremony occurred in the mansion’s courtyard, with a beautiful antique gazebo serving as the altar, its columns entwined with greenery. The couple exchanged vows, and guests witnessed this heartfelt, love-filled moment, leaving no one indifferent.
Georgia Verrells, the photographer who captured Melanie and Michael’s wedding, produced stunning portraits that beautifully reflected their love and happiness. Her unique photographic style conveyed the emotions and the atmosphere of the preserved moment, creating a vivid narrative of the day. As a true artist, Georgia crafted exquisite masterpieces that became a remarkable memory of this beautiful wedding, capturing the essence and spirit of the occasion in her work.
The reception hall was transformed into a magical and tastefully orchestrated wedding scene, radiating elegance and an inviting atmosphere. The area was set up with round tables meticulously dressed in immaculate white tablecloths, creating the perfect setting for an intimate gathering. Each table was graced with centerpieces of pristine white roses and hydrangeas, surrounded by delicate baby’s breath and lush greenery, while candlesticks cast a gentle glow, enhancing the ambiance. The attention to detail was evident in the neatly presented menu cards and elegantly numbered table signs, seamlessly guiding guests to their seats.
The reception commenced as the joyful newlyweds entered. The couple decided to surprise their guests with a champagne tower, adding a touch of spectacle to the celebration. The reception was filled with heartfelt moments, with family and friends delivering beautiful congratulatory speeches that deeply moved the newlyweds.
Then, Melanie and Michael stepped onto the center of the dance floor as the beautiful strains of Elton John’s “Your Song” filled the air. The couple swirled in dance, seemingly pausing time, while the guests admired this moment, brimming with love.
Instead of a classic wedding cake, the couple chose a croquembouche, which was definitely the highlight of the evening.
The reception evening was filled with joy and dancing. The newlyweds invited saxophonist Robbie Polack, who added a lively touch to the dance floor, allowing the couple and their guests to dance the night away.
Advice from couple:
• Highly recommend Quat Quatta as a fabulous, all-in-one wedding space for any couple looking for a simple, classic, beautiful, and logistically seamless wedding day. The staff were exceptional, and the food was very high quality.
