A Tale of Love and Traditions on Cabo Wedding

Location: Cabo San Lucas, Mexico
Setting: Boutique Hotel
Season: Summer
How long did the couple plan the event: 1,5 years
The number of guests: 140
Wedding theme/style: Classic with a Cabo twist.

Zach and Sarah tied the knot in Cabo. They always dreamed about a wedding that felt like a big vacation with all their favorite people, and Cabo San Lucas was the perfect spot. It’s been their go-to place for fun in the sun and surf. So, they decided on a cool theme: Black Tie meets Cabo vibes.

Zach and Sarah found their dream wedding venue at The Cape, a boutique hotel that wowed them from afar. With its breathtaking ocean views, unique architecture, and unbeatable vibe, it was love at first sight. It was the perfect backdrop for their Cabo celebration, combining elegance with the laid-back beach atmosphere they loved. The Cape had everything they were looking for and even more, making it the ultimate spot to say “I do.”

Sarah’s choice for the perfect wedding dress ended when she stumbled upon it on Instagram. A classic dress from Alex Perry was the love-at-first-sight with a twist of modern flair, fitting seamlessly into their chosen “black tie” theme. Light, airy, yet elegant and feminine, the dress was everything Sarah had dreamed of.

Adding to her bridal look, Sarah adorned herself with family heirlooms that held a special place in her heart. Her grandmother’s engagement ring was significant, a cherished link to her late grandfather. Completing her ensemble was a diamond tennis necklace, a gift by her father to her mother. Each piece weaved a story of family and love into Sarah’s wedding day attire.

Sarah’s wedding look radiated soft elegance. Her hair, styled in loose waves, flowed gently, complementing the airy feel of her dress. Her makeup was artfully done to highlight her glowing eyes, enhancing her natural beauty and adding just the right touch of sophistication to match the overall vibe of their black-tie theme. For makeup, something special was my best friend of over 13 years, a friend who has been with Zach and me since day one, did my makeup for the big day. She is such a talented makeup artist, so having her be my bridesmaid and my makeup artist was amazing.” – Sarah said.

For Zach, they decided on a stylish Hugo Boss tuxedo paired with Del Toro velvet loafers, a thoughtful gift from his Best Man. This combination struck the perfect balance between the formal elegance required for their black-tie event and the laid-back, chic vibe of Cabo San Lucas. The choice of loafers added a unique, relaxed touch to his ensemble, seamlessly blending the sophistication of their celebration with the casual elegance of their stunning beachside setting.

Before the ceremony began, Zach and Sarah shared a first-look moment, which was incredibly emotional for Zach. He couldn’t hold back his tears looking at his stunning bride. Mariana from Pierce Weddings, the photographer capturing Zach and Sarah’s wedding, managed to convey the depth of this moment, preserving every emotion in her magical photos. She also took beautiful portraits of the couple that highlighted the extraordinary beauty of the location and the love between them. Each frame was stylish yet profoundly emotional, capturing the essence of their special day in a way they’ll cherish forever.

The couple described their wedding style as aiming for a classic feel while embracing the breathtaking natural surroundings of Cabo and The Cape. They chose a ceremony arch design specifically to complement, rather than overshadow, the iconic view of the Cabo Arches, blending tradition with the unique beauty of their desired location. “Our Bridesmaids wore custom Stone Cold Fox dresses in the most beautiful cacao color and all of our menus and invitations were made by Swell Press, which mixed in the colors of the native plants and flowers of Cabo, like agave and palm.” the bride told.

As the ceremony began and all the guests took their seats, Zach stood by the arch, eagerly awaiting his stunning bride. Sarah, escorted by her father, walked down the aisle, and Zach was overwhelmed with joy and love, unable to hide his admiration as he watched her approach.

Their ceremony was a heartfelt blend of traditional elements and Sarah’s Persian heritage, featuring a Persian Sofreh alongside the aisle. The procession was accompanied by the song “Holy,” performed live by a talented local harpist and violinist, adding a touch of magic to the moment. An exceptional detail was having Sarah’s uncle officiate the wedding; he has known her all her life and Zach since he was just 16. The fusion of their traditions, surrounded by friends and family against the stunning backdrop of the Cortez Sea, created memories they will treasure forever.

The wedding reception was held on the hotel’s terrace, where tables were adorned with white tablecloths, enhancing the elegance of the setting. Beautiful floral arrangements of white flowers mixed with greenery added a festive touch, while stylish wooden chairs perfectly echoed the natural essence of the wedding location. Candles placed on the tables brought a romantic ambiance to the evening, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere for all the guests.

Before the reception, guests gathered for a cocktail hour, relaxing and enjoying the magnificent views while engaging in lively conversations.

The newlyweds’ entry at the reception was met with joyful cheers from the guests. The evening was splendid, with the air filled with delightful music and friendly chatter. Their first dance was beautiful and touching; as they danced, the guests were moved by the moment.

The bride shared: “One of the most fun Persian wedding traditions is the Cake Cutting Dance. It is such a fun way to get everyone on the dance floor, and as soon as we cut the cake, we had a surprise fireworks! Seeing everyone’s faces still to this day puts a smile on our faces, but as soon as the fireworks ended, we had another surprise: a saxophonist immediately
started playing on the dance floor while all of the wait staff at the hotel began passing out shots on the dance floor.”

Advice from couple:

When you finally stand at the altar with the person you’re about to marry, you’re reminded of what a wedding truly signifies. Keep this in mind throughout the whole wedding planning journey. It’s about celebrating your union with the love of your life, surrounded by friends and family who are there to support and cherish this moment with you.
