Through many postponements, an intimate ceremony two years ago, and a baby on the way, Jaime and Zach have waited a long time for their big party with family and friends. These two married for a second time and reminded each other, “I will always choose you.” It is the best decision they have ever made. We absolutely adore this couple with all our hearts.
From Jaime:“When Zach first asked me to dinner via bumble, I remember turning to my girlfriends and asking, “Do I really want to commit to a whole dinner?” You just never know on those dating apps. Thankfully I did, because not only did we close the restaurant, but we also closed down two other bars, and just like that 18 hours later, he was asleep on my couch (yes, actually the couch).”
“I called my mom the next day and told her that I had just had the best first date ever. Little did I know, Zach was subsequently calling his dad saying, “I’m going to marry this girl.”
Since then, their life together has been a whirlwind of adventure – the couple moved across the country from Los Angeles to Virginia, got engaged, moved into DC, Zach deployed overseas twice, they picked up their German Shepherd Ruby and cat Scout along the way, then onto Maryland, both started and graduated nursing school, and ultimately, landed in Jackson Hole, Wyoming with a baby expected any day now. It was only fitting that their wedding be as spontaneous and unpredictable as they’ve been.
Like for the rest of the world, covid turned their 2020 year into a tumultuous turn of events, but amid all the craziness, the couple knew one thing was for sure – they didn’t want to wait to get married.
“Thanks to the best team we could have asked for, we were able to pull off the most romantic, covid-friendly, mini wedding at Calamigos Ranch, not to mention on my parent’s 30th wedding anniversary. That day turned out to be the biggest blessing, the smallest but most perfect day ever, because it was truly just about us and this huge commitment we were so ready to make.”
Jaime and Zach knew they could never recreate the magic of their ceremony, so instead the couple decided to do a short movie screening of the highlights for their guests so they could get a little peek into how meaningful that day was.
Flash forward a quick two years later, the couple finally had the chance to have the all-out bash of a party they originally planned at the Ritz Carlton Bacara with all of the people they love most – and then some as Jaime was eight months pregnant.
After that, the party was on, and it was the rustic romance meets disco party of Jaime’s dreams.
“Looking back now, everyone should have the chance to marry their person for a second time, a second day to just revel in your love and remind each other that ”I’m going to keep choosing you over and over again for the rest of our lives.”
