A Scandinavian Minimalism Meets Tuscan Charm

Location: Tuscany, Italy
Setting: Villa
Season: Fall
How long did the couple plan the event: 8 months
The number of guests: 60
Wedding theme/style: Modern, elegant, chic, minimalistic.

Alexandra and Lukas’s journey to the aisle began during exchange semesters in Toronto, where their instant connection blossomed into a partnership anchored by their shared passion for travel. It was on a vacation to South Africa that Lukas, embracing their adventurous spirit, proposed, setting the stage for a destination wedding that united loved ones in Tuscany, Italy.

The videographer PIXEL captured the liveliness and tender moments of Alexandra and Lukas’s wedding day with a cinematic flair. Their lens caught the subtlest of smiles, the warmth of shared glances, and the uninhibited joy of dance. Each laugh and loving gesture was immortalized in bright, dynamic footage that perfectly shows the spirit and happiest moments of the day.

The couple chose the picturesque Villa Lena in Tuscany, known for its blend of artistic agriculture and boutique hospitality. This autumn wedding, planned ambitiously in just eight months, gathered 60 guests to celebrate amidst the villa’s stunning backdrop.

The morning of the wedding Alexandra spend with her bridesmaids. She wore an elegant dress and a veil with pearls and “mor” – “mom” in Danish, embroidered on it, as a tribute to her late mother. Her look was completed with a natural makeup palette and hair flowing freely.

Lukas chose a custom-tailored double-breasted white dinner jacket and polished shoes, embodying a modern yet timeless style that complemented Alexandra’s bridal attire seamlessly.

The ceremony was a heartfelt affair under the Tuscan sun, where Alexandra and Lukas exchanged vows in front of their closest friends and family, enveloped by the natural beauty and warmth of an Italian autumn. As a charming old tradition, guests joyously tossed rice over Alexandra and Lukas, as they made their first walk down the aisle as newlyweds.

As the golden hour draped Villa Lena in a warm, amber glow, Alexandra and Lukas took a serene walk through the Tuscan estate. It was a moment for just the two of them, a pause in the whirlwind of celebration to reflect on the commitment they had just made.

The reception was a visual feast, with vibrant flowers adorning the tables set against the villa’s elegant architecture. The modern, chic, and Scandinavian style shone through in every detail, from the sophisticated color palette to the minimalist decor, creating an ambiance of understated luxury.

Guests were welcomed into a scene adorned with strings of lights that cast a soft glow over the estate. The atmosphere buzzed with energy, especially when the couple made their grand entrance, and later, as they performed a champagne tower pour that sparkled as much as their smiles. The evening progressed with touching speeches and hearty cheers.

Underneath a canopy strung with twinkling lights, the dance floor came alive with a disco ball cast a myriad of stars. Surrounded by friends and family, with sparklers brightening the night and music enveloping the crowd, their wedding day came to a close, leaving memories that would dance in their hearts forever.

Advice from couple:

Less is more! Especially if you’re on a budget. Rather do a few things right, than do many things half. Quality beats quantity any day.

Don’t go bonanza in all trends you see on pinterest and Instagram but choose what you feel matches who you are, the style you’re aiming for and make it personal.

• Invest in videographers and photographers whose esthetics you like! The day goes by so fast, and you can’t be everywhere at once, so the photo and video-material are what helps you re-experience the day from another POV than your own. It’s such an emotional day with so many impressions and it’s hard to remember all that went down afterwards, so to have the speeches and a video capturing the best moments from the day is without a doubt the best money spent. We had a shortlist with +10 videographers and photographers, a handful of interviews and ended up with PIXEL (video) and Gustavo Simoes (photo), which we’re extremely happy and satisfied with.
