Andy and Kailoha found there was truly nothing comparable to a late-July surf-town wedding off the coast of Southern California with 70 of their closest loved ones. Returning to San Clemente, Kailoha’s first home, to celebrate their marriage felt beyond right, a moment that came full circle in every sense. The vision was a weekend built around love, laughter, and that unmistakable laid-back SoCal beach town energy.

Andy and Kailoha never wanted the wedding to live inside a single day, so they built it as a three-day celebration, with room to slow down and actually connect with their guests. Night one opened with a welcome party and rehearsal dinner, followed by drinks at a local bar. The next day, everyone reconvened at their favorite beach for a family beach day, before heading home to get ready and out again for a beachside party at El Caminante Bungalows in Dana Point. “We truly feel like we got to spend quality time with all of our guests in just three days,” Kailoha says.
The Aisle Edit Co handled the content across the weekend, and the couple couldn’t say enough about the experience. “We truly could not have made a better choice than hiring The Aisle Edit Co,” they said. “They brought such a calming, positive presence to our day, and we felt completely at ease knowing our genuine moments were being captured so beautifully. Their kindness and support made us feel instantly comfortable, and we are beyond happy with the content we received.”
Fashion
For her dress, Kailoha chose Enzoani, a gown that carried the same warmth she wanted running through the whole wedding day. The goal throughout was to let the beauty of the space shine while layering in design elements that felt warm, lively, and deeply personal. “I am a beach girl at heart, so I incorporated some elements from the sea,” she says, and she wasn’t afraid to play with color when it came to the florals either.
The florals by A&R Event Designs carried their own story. Kailoha’s florist happened to be one of her closest industry friends, the two of them building their businesses around the same time, collaborating on projects and cheering each other on along the way. The morning before the wedding, they headed to the Los Angeles Flower District together to hand-pick every stem. “This made for very vibrant and truly one-of-a-kind florals,” Kailoha says.
First Look
One of the most meaningful moments of the entire weekend was the first look, held on the same San Clemente beach where Kailoha’s parents were married twenty-four years earlier. “Originally I was opposed to the first look, but looking back, I am so glad we did it,” she says. “It was such a beautiful moment by the water to really ground ourselves and soak in each other and the reason we were there that day.”
Kailoha and Andy got a lot of their photos out of the way during the first look, then ditched the traditional post-ceremony family photos altogether, moving straight into a shortened thirty-minute cocktail hour instead. “We just told our media team to follow us around as we greet everyone and capture those raw moments,” Kailoha says. Tessa Mariee did exactly that, staying close throughout without ever getting in the way. “It took so much pressure off.”
Ceremony
As the owner of KailohaCo Events, Kailoha approached planning her own wedding with a clear mindset: create a day that felt like them, and let go of anything that didn’t truly matter. “While I love beautiful details, my biggest priority was creating a day that felt relaxed, relationally focused, and full of genuine moments,” she says. She wanted space for conversation, hugs, laughter, and all the in-between memories nobody schedules but everyone remembers.
The ceremony was exactly that kind of moment. Kailoha was walked down the aisle, and from there, everything else simply took over, the setting, the vows, and every person they love gathered to celebrate the two of them.
Planning & Inspiration
Agape 1928 is one of those spaces that doesn’t need much: original Ole Hanson architecture, gorgeous plants, hummingbirds and butterflies drifting through the grounds, intention built into every detail. “As a wedding planner and designer myself, I immediately noticed two things,” Kailoha says, “the sincere hospitality and the attention to every minor detail.” Every renovation, every piece of inventory, every element of design and purpose behind the venue showed through immediately.
The design followed that same philosophy. Florals stayed expressive and organic, layered in greens, browns, yellows, and purples, accented with subtle shell and pearl details. Linen signage, green table numbers, and shell place cards added texture and personality throughout the space, creating a look that felt warm, inviting, and natural, never forced, never chasing a trend.
Reception
Kailoha and Andy planned the entire wedding in just about four months, which meant everything happened fast. “For this reason, hiring vendors who felt like close friends and had the best energy was one of my top priorities,” Kailoha says, and the team they found delivered exactly that, spoiling them from the moment the day began. She’d put in the effort during the planning phase, but once the wedding actually arrived, she handed everything over to trust. “I set the expectation for myself that no matter what happens, I was going to have the best day ever with all my favorite people.”

Advice from the couple:
• From both a wedding planner and a former bride: the day really does pass in the blink of an eye. Let go of the stress, trust the process, and savor every small embrace. Take a deep breath, be present, and remember, this day is about love, connection, and the people who showed up to celebrate you.
