Emily and Ryan’s love story began in a rather unexpected yet classic way. While many modern couples meet through apps and social media, they first crossed paths in the summer of 2020 at the Boston Fire Academy, where they trained to be firefighters. Amidst the sweat and grit, their connection sparked, and their first date at a local pub quickly led to more, making them inseparable. In June 2022, they traveled to London and Paris for Emily’s 30th birthday with friends. Despite Ryan battling food poisoning, they enjoyed concerts by The Rolling Stones and Elton John in London. When they reached Paris, Ryan found the perfect moment to propose in the Tuileries Garden, just outside the Louvre. It was a magical moment in one of the world’s most romantic cities, making their engagement feel timeless and unforgettable. Because, as they say, Paris is always a good idea.

Couple's Morning & Fashion
With her bridesmaids by her side, Emily prepared for her big day, glowing with excitement. She wore a classic mermaid-style lace gown adorned with vintage Victorian lace and off-the-shoulder tulle sleeves. The cathedral-length veil had intricate lace detailing along the trim, adding a touch of timeless elegance. The detachable sleeves transformed the dress for the reception, giving it a completely new look. Her makeup, flawlessly done by Abbey from Attainable Glow Aesthetic, perfectly complemented her look. Emily’s hair was styled by her close friend and talented New Jersey hairstylist Lina Foley.
The stunning bridal bouquet, thoughtfully arranged by the bride’s friend and former colleague, Stephanie of Stems of Boston, added a beautiful final touch to her bridal ensemble. Her attention to detail truly made every floral element shine.
Ryan fully embraced the wedding theme, wearing a classic brown tweed suit that perfectly complemented the earthy aesthetic of the day. He completed his look with a vest, an old-fashioned pocket watch, and a tie pin on a floral tie, adding a touch of old-world charm. His classic brown Allen Edmonds wingtips tied it all together with understated elegance.
First Look
The first look between Emily and Ryan was a deeply emotional moment. As Ryan stood waiting, he was visibly moved to tears at the sight of Emily, radiant in her lace mermaid gown and a vibrant bouquet. Ceremony
The ceremony took place on a picturesque mountainside in Vermont, with everything beautifully set on the same property—from the ceremony to the reception and even the after-party. The breathtaking natural surroundings created an intimate atmosphere, making the day even more special. A close friend and fellow firefighter officiated, delivering a heartfelt, simple, yet stunning ceremony that perfectly reflected the couple’s love.
One of the most unforgettable moments of the day was having the couple’s dogs roam freely during the ceremony. Their playful presence added a lighthearted touch, bringing smiles to the guests and creating a relaxed, joyful atmosphere.
We just wanted to be out in nature and have our dogs with us with our closest friends and family.
Reception Decor & Dinner
“The reception was a party!” With a live band setting the tone, great food, and an open bar—because no firefighter wedding would be complete without it—it was truly a night to remember. The farm tables were beautifully adorned with a fall-inspired tablescape of flowers, pumpkins, and gourds, creating a rustic yet elegant feel. The table numbers were set on wood slabs, covered in green moss and mushrooms, while the bride herself crafted the homemade pottery vases. Each vase held just two or three simple flower stems, allowing the natural beauty of fall and the stunning barn to take center stage over the décor. The simplicity and earthy elements brought a cozy, authentic charm to the celebration, perfectly capturing the couple’s vision.
The newlyweds continued the celebration with a cake-cutting, and Emily couldn’t resist sneaking a taste of the cake with a smile. The evening continued with dancing under the soft glow of string lights as friends and family joined in the fun.
