A Refined Wedding at a Winery in South Australia

Location: The Barossa Valley, South Australiah
Setting: Winery
Wedding season: Winter
Wedding theme/style: Timeless elegance.

Talia and Josh are an absolutely remarkable couple who share an incredible bond. Their deep understanding and connection are evident, nurtured by their long and beautiful journey together. Talia, an entertainer who dances, sings, acts, and teaches, found her perfect match in Josh, a dedicated school teacher. Hailing from Adelaide, South Australia, their love story has spanned over a decade. From Talia: “We have been together since we were 13 and now 29. We had a few years break in between, found each other again, bought a house, have a beautiful fur baby Rory who will be a pageboy on our special day and now getting married, it has certainly been quite a ride!”

Talia exuded elegance and refinement in her bridal attire. Clad in a creamy off-the-shoulder gown adorned with exquisite embroidery from Eternal Bridal by Le Lee Studio, she accessorized her look with a pearl necklace, earrings, and a magnificent floral headpiece. The bride’s choice of gown color distinguished her among her bridesmaids, who wore snowy white dresses.

Their wedding photographer, Sash Ilievski from Collections Photography, noted that Talia effortlessly radiated natural beauty in front of the camera.

The groom and groomsmen complemented the occasion with their timeless blue-black suits by Joseph Uzumcu adorned with white rose boutonnieres.

The couple sought a classic yet modern ambiance for their ceremony, opting for a lush green arch adorned with pops of white roses and hydrangeas. The combination of white and green created a stunning visual backdrop for their heartfelt vows.

These two were very excited about their wedding and also very happy. There was room for a joke at the ceremony. During their ceremony vow exchange, Talia decided to “blow the dust” off her ceremony vows in preparation to reading them to Joshua. It was like a tribute to being together 16 years.

Château Tanunda, an iconic Barossa Valley Winery estate known for its exceptional winemaking spanning over 130 years, served as the exquisite wedding venue.

The grounds of Château offered numerous picturesque locations for wedding photography, including the Sunken Garden, Croquet Green, Wisteria Walkway, Barossa Ranges Terrace, and the sprawling vineyards. Sash Ilievski skillfully captured a blend of intimate, romantic shots as well as candid and joyful moments, ensuring the couple’s love story was artfully preserved.

It was a process of mutual enjoyment. Talia shared her appreciation for Sash’s work, stating, “We loved how beautifully he captures in the moment shots, but also loved how the posed shots are so elegantly taken. We know this is an important part of capturing the day, so it was important we found the right person and we love your style of photography! Our photos need to capture our story as this will be one of the most memorable days of our lives.”

Upon their grand entrance to the reception, the couple participated in the Polish Wedding Tradition known as “The Vodka Ritual.” Two small glasses, one filled with vodka and the other with water, were presented to them. Following tradition, the bride selected a glass without knowing its contents. It is believed that the person who ends up with the vodka will hold a dominant role in the relationship. Talia chose first and ended up with the glass of water, granting Josh the title of “boss.” However, it is evident that this radiant couple values mutual support and equality, having stood by each other’s side throughout their enduring journey.
