Chloe and Spencer are a couple of lawyers living in New York City, originally from Toronto, Canada, where they met a long time ago. Spencer, the undercover romantic, asked Chloe to their high school prom in a memorable way—by having the school secretary call her over the PA system to the principal’s office. Instead of detention, Chloe was pleasantly surprised with flowers and, of course, said yes. Their friends joked that they looked like a bride and groom, with Chloe in a long white dress and Spencer in a tuxedo. Little did they know, 12 years later, they’d be wearing very similar outfits for their wedding. Between then and now, Chloe and Spencer have shared a passion for travel and adventure, creating countless memories together.
Chloe and Spencer always envisioned an elegant, classic, and timeless wedding. The location was important to them, as they wanted the scenery to be the main focus, but with a romantic flair throughout. They received a lot of help from Chloe’s mum, their wedding planner Tamara of Adriatic Weddings Croatia, and designer Maja of Showroom Croatia, who brought their vision to life. It was a collaborative process that required effort but was also incredibly fun. The planners had the best vendor recommendations, ensuring a seamless and beautiful day. The stress-free and enjoyable planning experience made their special day even more memorable.
Tamara and her team had truly impeccable taste which aligned perfectly with what we had imagined - from the flowers, to the music and the overall aesthetic of the wedding day.
THE LOCATION
Chloe shared her thoughts on choosing the destination for their wedding: “We’ve traveled to many stunning places together, but one place Spencer hadn’t visited was Croatia, where my roots are. He completely trusted me to decide on Hvar for our wedding. It was the perfect spot for our families and friends to come together from all over the world and enjoy a special wedding weekend.”
The most special part was the fact that the wedding was in Hvar, Croatia. Coming to this beautiful island and having such an amazing excuse for a vacation, we think made for a unique experience for each of our guests, which is what we wanted.
THE WELCOME DAY
Before the wedding day, Chloe and Spencer hosted a fabulous pre-event at BB Club on Hvar to provide their guests with an unforgettable multi-day experience. They even prepared custom gifts for each guest, featuring local delights like lavender, sea salt, soaps, and other items typical of Hvar, all beautifully presented in custom beach bags.
BRIDAL MORNING
On the morning of Chloe’s wedding, the atmosphere was filled with excitement and calm as she got ready with her bridesmaids. Laughter and joy filled the room as the bridesmaids, dressed in matching blush silk pajamas, popped a bottle of champagne and toasted to the day ahead. This special morning set a joyful tone for the rest of the wedding day as Chloe and her friends shared smiles and champagne toasts, capturing precious moments before the ceremony.
Chloe’s gown, designed by Newhite, was a modern piece with a touch of romance that perfectly complemented the overall theme. Her look was completed with hair and makeup by JL Style. She carried a stunning bouquet of white and blush flowers, adding a soft, romantic touch to her elegant wedding look. The wedding party was elegantly dressed in ivory, matching the couple beautifully and creating a stunning visual.
The emotional first look with Chloe’s father set the tone for a heartfelt and memorable wedding day. When he walked into the room and saw his daughter, he was overcome with emotion. Chloe’s bridesmaids, who had been by her side all morning, couldn’t hold back their tears either. It was a deeply touching moment, filled with love and pride, as Chloe’s father embraced her and admired her beautiful wedding look.
GROOM'S GETTING READY
On the wedding morning, Spencer and his groomsmen gathered for a toast, setting an elegant and celebratory tone for the day ahead. Spencer’s tuxedo, custom-made in Toronto by Made2Measure, featured an ivory blazer and classic tuxedo pants, perfectly aligning with the timeless and romantic theme of the wedding. A white orchid boutonniere added a refined touch to his look. The shared excitement among the group was evident, creating an unforgettable start to Spencer’s special day.
The stunning backdrop of Hvar added a touch of magic to their preparations, making for unforgettable moments and striking photos. Spencer’s mother shared a heartfelt moment with her son, adding more emotion to the day.
THE CEREMONY
The ceremony space had a unique setup with poufs and chaises arranged alongside the water, creating a magical experience. Instead of a classic arch, the couple chose a modern design that made for stunning photos. As Spencer and all the guests eagerly waited for Chloe to appear, the beautiful ceremony was about to begin. The bridal party, dressed elegantly, stood ready by the picturesque seaside backdrop, adorned with delicate floral arrangements and lanterns. The atmosphere was filled with anticipation and joy, setting the perfect stage for the couple’s vows.
The atmosphere of the ceremony was magical. Spencer was eagerly waiting for Chloe and was touched when he saw his soon-to-be wife walking down the aisle with her parents. The setting was enchanting, with the sea as their backdrop and a beautiful, unique arch adorned with flowers. Spencer’s vows said in Italian, paid tribute to Chloe’s roots, making the moment incredibly touching and bringing many guests to tears. The ceremony concluded with a joyful walk down the aisle as husband and wife, surrounded by family and friends who showered them with petals, celebrating the beginning of their marriage.
The fact that Spencer made an effort to read his vows in Italian was the sweetest thing ever and I think everyone enjoyed hearing his vows in the most romantic language in the world.
THE COCKTAIL HOUR
The cocktail hour was filled with laughter and joy as guests mingled under a beautifully decorated canopy. The atmosphere was lively, with a talented musician providing a charming acoustic backdrop. Refreshing drinks, including a signature cocktail, were enjoyed by all, enhancing the celebratory mood.
MOMENTS ALONE
The newlyweds were looking forward to having their photos taken against the picturesque views of Hvar Island. They cherished the quiet moments together before celebrating their marriage with 127 guests who had traveled from different parts of the world to celebrate their love in Croatia. Chloe and Spencer enjoyed a peaceful walk, savoring each other’s company and the stunning beauty of the golden hour.
RECEPTION DECOR
For the reception, the newlyweds dreamed of something truly special—a long table with picturesque views and a romantic atmosphere. They were extremely grateful to have chosen Tamara and Adriatic Weddings Croatia to plan their wedding. The planning team provided honest recommendations and advice, going above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect. With their assistance, the couple had a beautifully planned wedding, including an elegantly designed reception space. The tables were adorned with soft pink and white florals, crystal glassware, and gold accents, creating a sophisticated yet intimate setting. The backdrop of the sea added a touch of magic to the celebration, making it an unforgettable evening for everyone.
What the guests seemed to talk about the most was the one long candle-lit reception table, which our team managed to seat 127 guests at.
THE CELEBRATION
The celebration was a delightful blend of elegance and joy as Chloe and Spencer entered the reception area, beaming with happiness. The atmosphere was filled with laughter and heartfelt moments, highlighted by the speeches of the newlyweds and their loved ones. Fairy lights twinkled overhead, creating a magical ambiance that perfectly complemented the venue’s beauty. The evening was a perfect celebration of love, laughter, and togetherness, with every detail thoughtfully curated to create an unforgettable experience.
One of the highlights of the evening was the cake. The elegant two-tiered cake, adorned with delicate white orchids, was a vision of simplicity and sophistication. The cake table, surrounded by lush floral arrangements, was beautifully illuminated, adding to the overall elegance of the celebration.
As the night fell, Chloe changed into her second dress – an elegant mini perfect for an endless night of dancing. The guests and newlyweds danced the night away, overflowing with joy as they celebrated this special day together.
