Caitlyn and Mitchell’s story began when they met as second-grade classmates at Thornton State School, where their days were filled with friendly competition and shared milestones, including becoming school captains in Grade 7. After parting ways for high school, their paths crossed again at a friend’s birthday, reigniting their connection as they danced the night away. One month later, Caitlyn moved to Toowoomba to be closer to Mitchell, and their love story grew stronger, leading to their beautifully meaningful wedding day.
Bridal Morning
The atmosphere of Caitlyn’s morning was calm yet joyful, a perfect start to the celebrations ahead. Caitlyn chose a timeless wedding dress by Jenny Yoo, which was gifted to her by her mother. Adding her own personal touch, she paired the dress with custom bell sleeves sourced from Etsy and sewn by her grandmother, blending vintage charm with contemporary elegance. Her look was completed with a stunning floral-adorned veil, also from Etsy, and a pair of delicate blue heels that added a subtle hint of something blue.
For hair and makeup, Caitlyn entrusted Joel Anthony Hair and Alice Makeup Artist, who perfectly captured her vision of a timeless yet effortless bridal style. Her hair was styled in soft, elegant waves, while her makeup highlighted her natural beauty with a fresh, radiant glow. To complement her look, Caitlyn carried a delicate bouquet by Ever Blooming Love, which reflected her cottage-core and vintage-inspired aesthetic.
Ceremony
The ceremony took place in the historic St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Laidley, a location steeped in significance for the couple. The setting was both traditional and intimate, with the church’s ornate stained glass windows and classic brick walls offering a timeless backdrop for their vows. Floral arrangements in warm, earthy tones were positioned on either side of the altar, subtly complementing the vintage and authentic theme of the day.
Guests were greeted with custom ceremony newspapers detailing Caitlyn and Mitchell’s love story, adding a personal and thoughtful touch to the event.
The traditional Catholic ceremony, led by a priest close to Mitchell’s family, brought a sense of gravity and connection to their vows. Surrounded by their loved ones, the couple exchanged their promises in a heartfelt moment that resonated deeply with all in attendance. As they walked back down the aisle as husband and wife, the room filled with applause and joy.
"Mitchell’s favourite moment of the day was the beginning of the ceremony, when Caitlyn walked down the aisle."

Private Moment
After leaving the church, Caitlyn and Mitchell, accompanied by their wedding party, stepped into the golden countryside for a photo session that perfectly captured the essence of their day. The serene rural setting, with its open fields and distant mountains, offered a dreamy backdrop for their private moments as husband and wife. Laughter and love filled the air as they walked hand-in-hand, danced along country roads, and shared intimate smiles under the soft winter light. The joyful energy of their wedding party added a playful element, with candid shots that showcased the warmth of their bond.

Reception
The reception was held at the historic Mulgowie Hall, a space rich with meaning for Caitlyn and Mitchell, as they spent childhood years here performing in school concerts. The decor was minimal yet elegant, embodying the couple’s vintage country vision. Tables were adorned with soft blue runners, delicate candles, and bud vases holding pastel florals, creating an inviting and intimate atmosphere. Handcrafted details, including the seating chart with floral accents and wax seals, added a personal touch that tied everything together seamlessly. The warm glow of candlelight complemented the rustic charm of the hall, setting the perfect scene for an unforgettable evening.
As the evening unfolded, guests enjoyed a hearty dinner served on long trestle tables, fostering a sense of togetherness. Caitlyn and Mitchell shared their first dance to Chris Stapleton’s “More of You,” performed live by a local musician, Boyd Ridley, whose soulful voice captivated the room. A highlight of the night was the couple’s cake-cutting moment. The stunning vintage-inspired cake, baked by Caitlyn herself, was a labor of love, reflecting her connection to her grandparents’ wedding traditions. It stood proudly on a wooden table, surrounded by florals, as Caitlyn and Mitchell laughed and cut the first slice, sharing a joyous moment with their loved ones.
"The most memorable part of the day was our first dance, we had practiced almost every night for a month beforehand, and it could not have been more perfect!"
