Location: Cernobbio, Lake Como, Italy
Setting: Villa
Wedding season: Summer
How long did the couple plan the event: 1 year
Wedding theme/style: Effortless Italian charm, opulent.
For their wedding day, Natali and Alexander chose the scenic Villa Pizzo on Lake Como, blending their love for Italian elegance with Natali’s Iranian heritage. The couple, both dentists, moved from London to Belgium after their wedding, Alexander’s home country.
The wedding concept was created with input from the couple and the planner based on the feelings and desires of Natali and Alexander. “The couple wanted something romantic and elegant, but not too overdone or mainstream,” says White Emotion Events, who expertly planned Natali and Alexander’s wedding. Alessia demonstrated meticulous attention to detail, from the sophisticated floral arrangements that mirrored the villa’s hues to the smooth transition of events throughout the day. Her coordination resulted in an elegant, culturally rich wedding experience that was both tasteful and personal.
The choice of the villa was influenced by its unique charm and relatively untouched reputation as a wedding venue. “It has been my dream to get married on Lake Como; it’s one of my favorite places in the world,” says Natali, “I hadn’t seen so many weddings being held there yet, and I loved how understated and romantic it was, still with a touch of opulence.“
The bride looked absolutely stunning in a Zuhair Murad wedding gown. Her dress featured an off-the-shoulder design with a sweetheart neckline. The gown was intricately adorned with lace and floral appliqués that cascaded down the length of the dress, creating a romantic and ethereal effect. She completed her look with a delicate lace veil, which complemented the detailed work on her gown, adding an extra touch of bridal elegance.
The groom chose a white tuxedo by Butch Tailors with a black bow tie, which provided a striking contrast and timeless style.
The ceremony was celebrated by a dear friend of the couple, with some speeches from close family members, including the bride’s grandfather, who performed a speech in Farsi. “We also set up a Sofreh, a typycal wedding “altar” in the aperitif area, to pay homage to the Iranian culture and tradition,” says Alessia from White Emotion Events.
After the ceremony, the couple enjoyed a picturesque photo session on the pier, capturing the serene beauty of their surroundings. As the sun began to set over Lake Como, they took a romantic boat ride, basking in the golden hues of the sunset that added a magical touch to their special day.
The decor for the ceremony and reception was chosen to complement the venue, using colors like old rose and saffron yellow that mirrored the hues of Villa Pizzo. This approach ensured that the decorations enhanced the natural beauty of the location without dominating it. “We wanted a very effortless Italian charm and elegance, or sprezzatura as the Italians call it.” the bride shares.
As the night settled in, the couple gathered with their guests for a cake-cutting ceremony with a traditional Italian dessert. Live music played throughout the event, enhancing the atmosphere: “We had very talented musicians playing, which set the mood and ambiance perfectly,” says the planner.
The celebration continued the next day with a pool party at the Lido di Cernobbio, providing a relaxed and enjoyable end to the wedding festivities.
