Jessica and Mathew’s story began at a European work football tournament in Luxembourg. From their first meeting in the breakfast room, they felt a unique connection. Their shared journey led them to Switzerland, accompanied by their beloved dog, Oscar.
Mathew’s marriage proposal came on Christmas Eve at their home. In a touching scene, both he and Oscar wearing tuxedos, surrounded by photos of their journey together and illuminated by candlelight. Mathew’s romantic gesture almost risked burning down the apartment but luckily the champagne helped with dousing the fire.
Jessica and Mathew wished for an elegant celebration with exquisite food and endless fun into the early hours. They chose Villa Regina Teodolinda, a venue that fulfilled their dream of sophistication and charm.
Paola Lattarini, the talented photographer, captured their big day. Her photos beautifully highlight the bride’s smiles, the vivid colors of wedding palette, and the guests’ happiness. It’s a delight to view her work, as it brings smiles to everyone’s faces and recalls the joy of the occasion.
Bride chose simple and elegant white dress with a delicate sleeveless design and a long flowing train. Her hair was styled in loose waves, and she carried a bouquet of light pastel flowers, complementing her soft and graceful look and whole wedding palette. She prepared 3 dresses, each for every part of the day: ceremony, reception and party. The groom also had different looks: a black and white tux and a change of shoes.
The ceremony was held outdoors with a stunning backdrop of lush green mountains and the serene lake. The bride and groom stood hand in hand, exchanging vows in front of colorful flowers, adding a vibrant touch to the picturesque setting. Their dog Oscar and his friends were lying on the grass, enjoying the bright Italian sun, while guests used hand-held fans to stay cool.
After the ceremony, the couple took a private moment to celebrate their union with a peaceful boat ride on the lake. It was a time to reflect on their vows and enjoy the stunning surroundings together.
The concept of the reception was to have a colorful but timeless style Italian wedding with a modern and contemporary twist. Long tables were decorated with pastel flowers: soft pinks, gentle yellows, and subtle purple. Tall, slender candles cast a warm glow as the evening settled in, creating a romantic atmosphere.
The newlyweds switched outfits and joined their guests in the villa’s garden for the festivities. Guests were surrounded by the soft, twinkling lights of the courtyard, which highlighted the charm of the surroundings.
The celebration ended with the cutting of a cake adorned with berries under the starlit sky. After the guests lit sparklers, creating a twinkling pathway for the bride and groom’s. Music from the DJ, along with pop rock and acoustic guitar, kept everyone dancing late into the night.
Advice from couple:
• Enjoy the day at its fullest and for how it comes, there are always small hick-ups happening but it’s your day, and you should be living the moment, as it goes by very quickly.
• Also, if you plan to get married in Lake Como in July/Summer be prepared to face some very high temperatures.
