A fuchsia-inspired celebration on the shores of Greece, a chapel perched on a cliff overlooking the ocean, and a Hora Loca that nobody saw coming. Natalie and Janni’s wedding in Kavala was warm, joyful, and deeply personal from start to finish, photographed by Albatross Wedding Photography

Location: Kavala, Greece
Style: A modern, Mamma Mia inspired
Time of planning: 1,5 years
Number of guests: 84
Setting: Beach
Season: Summer

Natalie and Ioannis (Janni) have known each other since 2009, meeting through mutual friends before either of them had any idea where the story would go. Friendship came first, and by 2014 it had quietly become something else entirely. They grew up alongside each other, through school, university, and first careers, building a relationship rooted in trust and the kind of freedom that lets two people grow without losing each other in the process.

Janni’s calm nature and Natalie’s vibrant, determined spirit have always balanced each other out. Her one wish for the proposal was simple: she didn’t want to see it coming. Janni honored that perfectly, surprising her at home after what seemed like an ordinary dinner date. They had always dreamed of marrying in Greece, a place that is home for Janni and carries a special familiarity for Natalie, reminding her of Venezuela, her mother’s homeland. The perfect place to begin the next chapter.

Planning & Photography

The planning process with Inspired Moments Events was smooth, collaborative, and genuinely fun. In March 2025, Natalie and Janni traveled to Greece for tastings and floral consultations, immersing themselves in every detail from the menu to the flower arrangements. Until then, most of the planning had happened over Zoom, with mood boards and Pinterest inspiration bridging the distance between them and their planner. The vision was always clear, and the expertise on the other side of the screen made translating it into reality feel seamless.

Florals were central to the concept from the beginning. Natalie had always envisioned a minimalist bougainvillea branch framing the ceremony, almost like a natural column, creating a clean yet striking statement at the chapel. Fuchsia led the palette, softened by pink tones and accented with subtle red-pink highlights, with anthuriums mixed with roses and balanced by moss greens for depth and a modern, sculptural feel. Every detail was captured by Albatross Wedding Photography, whose work gave the couple something to return to long after the day was over.

Bride's Fashion

Emotions ran high from the very first moment. Natalie had always dreamed of this day, and seeing all their loved ones gathered in a dream Greek setting made everything feel heightened, the joy and laughter of friends and family creating an atmosphere that felt warm, effortless, and completely alive.

She had always envisioned a modern Greek goddess, and the Milla Nova “Leandra” gown from the Chapter Bride Collection brought that vision to life. A striking trumpet silhouette in mikado fabric, with a fitted corset adorned with intricate floral embroidery, a geometric straight neckline, and a skirt that flowed into a short, elegant train. Structure and romance in equal measure.

She finished the look with custom-made earrings and a bracelet by Dila Accessoires, earthy-toned makeup with a hint of gold, a sleek tight bun, and a simple but striking bouquet of white roses.

Groom's Fashion

Janni embraced a modern, clean aesthetic with a beautifully tailored beige suit by Mr. Ash in Stuttgart, complete with a vest featuring a satin inlay subtly printed with floral motifs. Hidden inside the jacket were the stitched initials of the bride and groom alongside the wedding date, a detail that made the look uniquely theirs. Perhaps the most meaningful touch of all were the matching pink manchettes, crafted from the bride’s mother’s traditional Venezuelan guayabera blouse, weaving family and heritage into the day in the most heartfelt way. A soft pink tie, espresso brown Penny Loafers by GANT, and a boutonniere of white roses echoing Natalie’s bouquet completed the look.

Ceremony

The ceremony took place at the Chapel of Agia Marina in Nea Peramos, a charming Greek Orthodox chapel perched on a small cliff overlooking the ocean. It had always been their dream to marry in a small chapel with that kind of view, and the iconic white and blue of the building provided the perfect backdrop for the bold fuchsia accents of the day, the contrast between the two making everything feel even more striking.

The ceremony was conducted in traditional Orthodox Greek, rooted in the customs and language of Janni’s homeland. One of the most beautiful moments was the Στέφανα, the classic Greek wedding crowns joined by a ribbon and worn as the couple circled the altar together for the first time as husband and wife. Natalie’s bridesmaids led the way down the aisle ahead of her, dressed in two different styles that felt perfectly aligned with the overall aesthetic. She followed with her mother, to carefully chosen music, in a ceremony that wove Greek Orthodox and Christian traditions together seamlessly.

Guests were met with panoramic ocean views and clear blue skies, the afternoon light catching the water and adding an unforgettable sparkle to the whole scene. The couple had thought of everything, including a refreshment stand, paper umbrellas, and handheld fans to keep guests cool in the summer heat, so that nobody missed a single moment of it.

Golden Hour

The highlight of the wedding was the entire day. The hotel staff, the wedding team, the photographers, the videographers, the guests, and the couple themselves, everyone was fully present and nobody wanted it to end. Conversations flowed, laughter never stopped, and the kind of genuine joy that belongs only to days like this was there from the very first moment to the last.

As golden hour settled over the water, Natalie and Janni slipped away for portraits, the light doing exactly what Greek summer light does best. Albatross Wedding Photography & Angelos Lagos captured it all, the images perfectly reflecting both the love of the newlyweds and the beauty of the place they had chosen to begin their life together.

Reception Decor

The inspiration came from Natalie’s favorite Greek flower, the bougainvillea, its vibrant fuchsia blooms climbing sun-bleached walls against the deep blue of the ocean. Bold and confident on its own, the color complemented the natural palette of Greece perfectly, and together with the timeless magic of Mamma Mia, it created an atmosphere that felt joyful, sun-drenched, and deeply romantic.

The reception took place at Baccalaria Beach Bar, right on the sand, its modern boho-chic vibe a seamless match for the wedding’s overall aesthetic. A stylish bar and dance area, a spacious lounge for guests to settle into as the sun went down, and two snake-shaped long tables on the beachfront, adorned with fairy lights and minimalist floral arrangements of varying lengths that kept the design elegant and airy without losing any of its structure.

Reception

The newlyweds made their entrance to “Best of My Love” by The Emotions, walking directly onto a wooden dancefloor riser where they popped champagne and toasted with their guests. Their first dance followed, a small choreographed routine to a deeply emotional song, before heartfelt speeches set the tone for the evening ahead.

The beach buffet gave Greek cuisine a contemporary twist, with highlights including pancetas glazed with miso, and the food was as much a talking point as anything else that evening. Signature cocktails reflected the couple’s personalities: “The Nat & J Mule,” “Jannoma OPA!,” and Nat’s “Happily Ever Afterol.” The Palomas were a particular hit. Freshly prepared tacos and loukoumades kept the party going late into the night, the wedding cake was a light lemon-vanilla tart, and jazzy house music kept the atmosphere warm and celebratory throughout.

The ultimate moment of the night came later, when the Hora Loca took over. The traditional Venezuelan Crazy Hour, a staple of Latin American weddings, arrived just as the dance floor energy needed a jolt. Guests were handed LED lights, colorful glasses, and fun accessories, and then the bride made her entrance, wearing a dramatic LED cape and a mini wedding party dress, accompanied by her bridesmaids. The room erupted. From that moment on, nobody left the dance floor. It was the kind of night, the couple says, that perfectly captured everything the day was about: joy, emotion, love, and pure celebration.

Advice from the couple:

• Enjoy every second and take a few moments with your partner to truly embrace the day — it goes by faster than you can imagine. Don’t get too caught up in perfectly staged or posed photos; instead, focus on natural, in-the-moment interactions. Let your photographer and videographer capture the genuine emotions and energy.
