Nestled against the breathtaking cliffs of Marina Piccola on the Isle of Capri, Emma and Charlie celebrated their love in a way that was as unique as their journey together. With their two-year-old son Rowie as their sole guest, the couple chose to embrace the island’s natural beauty and timeless charm for a day that felt effortless, heartfelt, and entirely their own.
Location: Isle of Capri, Italy
Style: Elegant, minimal, timeless
Time of planning: 3 months
Number of guests: 1
Setting: Island
Season: Spring
Emma, an environmental scientist, and Charlie, an engineer, first met over a decade ago in Melbourne, Australia. Their bond flourished through shared adventures, including three years of travel across 11 countries. They eventually settled in Queensland, where they bought their first home and welcomed their son, Rowie. While marriage wasn’t initially a priority, their trip planning to Italy inspired Charlie to propose. He designed a stunning engagement ring, and the couple began envisioning their elopement amidst Italy’s most romantic landscapes.
Location & Planning
The couple’s private ceremony took place at Villa Danima, a secluded villa perched on a terrace overlooking the iconic Faraglioni rocks. The warm spring air and lush Mediterranean flora created an idyllic backdrop for their vows and made them feel at home. “It was truly surreal, a pinch-me kind of place,” Emma recalled.
“We wanted to keep it simple—no floral arrangements, no altar—just the natural Capri landscape."

Couple's Morning
Emma and Charlie’s morning began together with a leisurely breakfast of local breads, cheeses, olives, and prosciutto by the villa’s pool. “Enough time to make everything so perfect,” added the bride.
She embraced a minimalistic style, wearing the “Greta” silk slip dress by Bo & Luca with a low cowl back and train. A cathedral-length tulle veil by Made With Love added a touch of drama, while gold and pearl drop earrings completed her look. Emma did her own makeup using products from Estee Lauder, Charlotte Tilbury, and MAC, finishing with a spritz of Versace perfume.
The small, minimal bouquet was handmade from the terrace garden, only minutes before the ceremony began. These included rosemary, lavender, and geraniums.
Charlie embodied timeless Italian elegance in an M.J. Bale tuxedo with satin peak lapels, paired with a classic white pocket square and black leather dress shoes. “Charlie looked so handsome and was very emotional during the ceremony, which was so beautiful to see,” Emma shared.
First Look & Ceremony
The couple’s first look was a deeply personal moment, filled with anticipation and love. Emma descended the villa’s steep stone staircase, her veil billowing in the warm wind. Charlie’s tear-filled reaction was set to the emotional melody of “Only” by RY X.
The intimate ceremony was officiated by Carmela Italy Celebrant, blending English and Italian for a relaxed and heartfelt exchange. With no rehearsals or rigid structure, the ceremony felt natural and genuine. Emma described it as “laughing and crying to Carmela’s perfectly curated script.”
“The weather was incredible—calm blue skies and warm sea air—which seemed to come just for us."

After the ceremony, they toasted with local sparkling wine on the villa’s terrace, savoring the intimate moment. Rowie added his own charm by scribbling on their wedding certificate as their witness, making the celebration even more family-centered.
"Our photography team, White Parrot, was incredible. They fit right in with our relaxed, stress-free day and captured everything exactly as we had hoped. We barely knew they were there during the ceremony, and I was speechless about what they had captured."

Boat Ride
Emma and Charlie captured incredible footage before strolling down the cliffside to the beautiful pebble sand beach at Marina Piccola, where their boat and captain awaited.
"The best part about the whole day was that we had nowhere else to be and no schedule to follow. It was just us."

The couple’s boat ride was a magical experience, filled with romance. Their captain guided them to the iconic Faraglioni rocks, where they followed the local custom of sharing a kiss while passing through the arches, a gesture said to bring everlasting love and fertility.
As they soaked in the breathtaking scenery, the captain played romantic Italian music, and the crew joined in singing, creating an atmosphere that felt straight out of a dream. It was a moment of pure joy and beauty they would never forget.
The day ended with a perfect blend of simplicity and joy, reflecting everything Emma and Charlie had hoped for. “Our photographer and videographer were so professional and laid back, and made everything so smooth and seamless,” Emma shared.
They spent the evening on the villa’s terrace, enjoying their favorite music and local deli cuisine for dinner. As the day wound down, Emma threw her dress on the floor, slipped into Charlie’s jumper, and the three of them—Emma, Charlie, and little Rowie—fell asleep on the couch. “It was the best day I could have ever imagined,” Emma said.
"We were honestly so amazed at what White Parrot created, they exceeded all of our expectations. We still cry each and every time we watch our video."
