A Fairytale Wedding with Cultural Charm in Prague

Location: Prague, Czech Republic
Setting: Villa & Vineyard
Season: Fall
How long did the couple plan the event: 5 months
The number of guests: 80
Wedding theme/style: Colorful and chic.

Josh is a true Scotsman, while Thuy, originally from Vietnam, grew up in Czechia. They met in London, where they both continue to work and live today. Despite their different cultural backgrounds, they discovered a shared love for family, humor, and adventure.

The couple imagined a Bridgerton-inspired, romantic fairytale wedding infused with elements of their diverse cultures. They enlisted the expertise of planners at Exclusive Weddings in Prague to bring their Pinterest-worthy wedding to life. From floral arrangements to the selection of entertainment, the planners meticulously guided the couple through every step of the process, resulting in an unforgettable celebration for both the couple and their guests.

The couple was happy with their venue choice, celebrating their love at Villa Richter. This classicist gem, nestled in the heart of the St. Wenceslas Vineyard near Prague Castle, offers a one-of-a-kind experience with absolute privacy and breathtaking views of the Malá Strana panorama. Beyond its stunning views, Villa Richter provides exceptional cuisine and a captivating aesthetic, making it the perfect setting for their special day.

The wedding morning was filled with excitement and joy for both Josh and Thuy. The bride wore a Princess-style dress perfect for their wedding near Prague Castle. She later changed into a stunning Vivienne Westwood gown, paired with Manolo Blahnik shoes and earrings by CompletedWorks. Josh proudly represented his Scottish heritage by wearing a Blackwatch tartan kilt, adding a touch of magic to the day.

The ceremony area for Josh and Thuy’s wedding was magical. Set against a stunning panoramic view of Prague, the setting was elevated by beautiful floral arrangements that lined the aisle and adorned the altar. The flowers, in vibrant shades of pink, yellow, and orange, created a lively yet elegant atmosphere, perfectly complementing the scenic backdrop of the city.

The ceremony was beautiful and touching. The aisle, lined with vibrant flowers in various hues, led to a circular platform where Josh and Thuy exchanged their vows. The elegantly dressed guests watched with joy and excitement. The picturesque view of the city added a beautiful element to the occasion, creating an unforgettable atmosphere.

During the vows, Thuy recalls a moment when a big bumblebee flew around Josh’s ear, adding a touch of nature’s spontaneity to their heartfelt promises. As Josh and Thuy shared their first kiss as a married couple, the guests applauded and threw flower petals in celebration.

The newlyweds spent precious moments with their family and bridal party right after the ceremony, receiving heartfelt congratulations and warm wishes. They also took some time to savor their first moments as a married couple, strolling through the picturesque streets of Prague. This serene walk allowed them to enjoy each other’s company and bask in the joy of being husband and wife before the celebration continued.

The dinner area was a vibrant splash of colors, expertly designed by the planners at Unique Weddings in Prague and brought to life by the florists at Inspirito. Tables were adorned with elegant crystal glassware and plates, complemented by rich, deep purple napkins.

The floral arrangements featured a stunning mix of pink, red, and purple flowers, artfully combined with lush greenery. Above the tables, a ceiling installation of hanging flowers added a whimsical and enchanting touch, making the entire space feel like a dreamy garden.

The entire celebration was unforgettable, filled with countless special details. One of the most memorable moments was when the bride’s parents started crying during her heartfelt speech. The couple’s first dance was to “Hallelujah,” their cake was a whimsical creation adorned with strawberries and live flowers, which the bride absolutely adored. The menu featured primarily European dishes with an Asian twist, beautifully representing both cultures.

Emotional speeches from the groom, bride, and best man added to the day’s sentimentality. Instead of a traditional photo booth, a 360-degree camera captured the joyous moments. The festivities also included the Czech tradition of breaking a plate, Vietnamese elements like lanterns hanging from the trees, and Scottish thistle in the décor, seamlessly blending their heritages.

Andrea’s work exceeded our expectations, the wedding was incredibly colourful, cheerful and our guests have said they’ve never been to a more impressive wedding ans possibly might never be again (their own words!).

Advice from the couple:

If you can, book a lot of musical acts—we had a string quartet, a jazz singer, and a music band (but could have been a DJ). We felt that having music throughout the event kept everyone entertained and brought a wonderful atmosphere.
