From the lakeside venue honoring Akos’ Hungarian roots to the sophisticated decor inspired by India’s New York upbringing, every element reflected the couple’s unique journey. With breathtaking florals, personalized cocktails, lively music, and heartfelt surprises, this wedding was a truly unforgettable.

Location: Balatonvilágos, Hungary
Style: Elegant, intimate, tasteful
Time of planning: 16 months
Number of guests: 120
Setting: Ceremony – church, reception – hotel
Season: Summer

Akos and India met on a dating app during the pandemic. Their first date was a surprise. Akos, newly arrived from Hungary, took India, a lifelong New Yorker, to the Empire State Building, followed by dinner at an Italian restaurant. Three more dates sealed their connection, and their journey together began. Since then, they’ve traveled to 15 countries. During their first trip to Paris, Akos surprised India with a proposal in Luxembourg Gardens, defying her belief that he’d never risk traveling with a ring. They celebrated that night with a memorable dinner at the Moulin Rouge.

Bride's Look

India wore a stunning white gown by Leah Da Gloria decorated with delicate beading. The dress featured a fitted bodice with a graceful train flowing behind, while a sheer cascading veil added a magical touch. Her footwear was thoughtfully curated: Manolo Blahnik Hangisi heels with a blue buckle paid homage to Carrie Bradshaw, while Jimmy Choo Sacaria block heels ensured comfort for the reception.

Inspired by Sofia Richie, the bridal look featured a sleek, pulled-back bun, styled by Viktória Gábor, and minimal, timeless makeup by Csalava Eszter. India carried a bouquet of white flowers, mirroring the classic and sophisticated aesthetic. To complete the romantic essence of the day, she and her groom wore matching Miss Dior perfume.

Groom's Fashion

Akos opted for a custom-made tuxedo from Indochino, personalizing every detail, including the wedding date embroidered inside the jacket. His black Prada loafers, a surprise gift from India, were the ideal choice. To complete the ensemble, the groom treated himself to a Dior bow tie, paired with Hermès silver cufflinks.

Ceremony

The ceremony took place in a local church in a neighboring town Siófok. High vaulted ceilings, soft cream-colored walls, and intricate stained-glass windows created the perfect ambiance for the occasion. The aisle was lined with floral arrangements of white roses and fresh greenery. Soft candlelight flickered along the pews, adding a touch of warmth and intimacy.

The couple beamed with joy as their eyes met. “We did not see each other until the church ceremony so the most memorable moment for us both was finally being able to see one another during the church ceremony when the doors opened,” the bride recalls. When India reached the altar, she and Akos embraced happily. A serene atmosphere filled the room as they exchanged vows, the guests quietly admiring the stunning couple.

India and Akos exited the church hand in hand, showered with white rose petals as the warm summer sun bathed them in golden light. Laughter and cheers filled the air, it was a beautiful moment, marking the beginning of their new chapter as husband and wife.

Cocktail Hour

The couple’s cocktail hour and later reception was set against the breathtaking lakeside backdrop of Topart Hotel. This location perfectly blended India’s love for water and Akos’ fond memories of summers on Lake Balaton.

Guests were welcomed with a personalized photo album, along with Polaroid and film cameras to capture special moments. The “Everywhere with You” wall, a phrase meaningful to the couple’s love story, and personalized luggage tags for seating arrangements, added an intimate charm.

Everyone enjoyed signature cocktails, which reflected India and Akos’ personalities: a spicy margarita for the bride and a whiskey sour for the groom. The most unforgettable moment came when a saxophonist, specially prepared, played Burna Boy’s ‘Last Last’, allowing the couple to share a spontaneous and joyous dance to one of India’s favorite songs.

Decor & Setting

The reception decor was envisioned to be full of lush florals with a sophisticated white and green color palette. With the masterful coordination of the planner Reka Danko Events and the Millefiori Dekor gorgeous arrangements the space reflected India’s dream to have her own garden, overflowing with fresh blooms.

The sweetheart table was a breathtaking focal point, draped in soft fabric and decorated with cascading roses, complemented by glowing candles and a modern wooden backdrop. The result was a romantic, refined ambiance.

Each table was uniquely named after a city or country the couple had visited or lived in, featuring a personal photo of the couple in that location. Tablescapes with ivory linens were adorned with floral centerpieces with white roses and hydrangeas. Gold accents, from the chairs to the delicate tableware, made the decor luxurious, while candlelit glass vases casted a soft glow in the evening.

Reception

The couple’s reception was a night filled with energy and music that reflected their personalities. Their first dance was to ‘For Once in My Life’ by Stevie Wonder, a tribute to their love for old-school music and a lively choice that set the tone for the evening. Heartfelt toasts from India and Akos’ family and best friends, as well as Hende Máté’s seamless facilitation, added warmth to the celebration before dinner was served. A highlight of the night came when their DJ surprised them with conga drums, elevating the energy instantly.

The wedding cake featured three smooth, white tiers adorned with delicate baby’s-breath cascading gracefully down the side. Its clean design perfectly complemented the overall aesthetic. India and Akos shared a piece before treating their loved ones with an exquisite dessert.

To keep the atmosphere vibrant, the couple curated a special dinner playlist featuring 90s and early 2000s R&B love songs, creating the perfect nostalgic vibe, and seamlessly moving to the upbeat celebration. The newlyweds and their guests danced the night away, savoring the music, delicious cocktails, and the joy of each other’s company.

Throughout the whole day and even during the nighttime celebration, photographer Alexander Feyer ensured that each happy memory is captured with captivating and dynamic visuals. Each shot embodied the essence of the couple’s celebration, light, elegant and high-spirited.

Advice from the couple:

Be present, live in the moment, don’t stress about the day of details during that day, remain high energy, spend the entire day together from the ceremony on and have fun!
