A Dreamy Celebration with Aperol and Amore at Lake Como

Featured Members:

Few places in the world evoke romance, quite like Lake Como. With its shimmering waters, lush gardens, and historic villas, it’s the perfect setting for an unforgettable love story. For Long and Chan, this picturesque destination became the backdrop for their dreamy celebration. Over three magical days at the elegant Passalacqua, they embraced la dolce vita, soaking in every moment of beauty and love. Captured by the talented Anna Roussos, their engagement shoot was a mix of timeless elegance and intimate authenticity.

Location: Lake Come, Italy
Style: Romantic, Classic, Elegant
Number of guests: 2
Setting: Villa

Long and Chan’s love story began nearly a decade ago. Though they met online, their paths had already crossed through mutual friends. Despite the challenges of long-distance travel, with Long studying in Australia and Chan in Singapore, their connection only grew stronger. Now, nine years later, their journey has led them to a breathtaking engagement celebration in one of the world’s most romantic destinations—Lake Como.

Inspiration Behind the Shoot

When dreaming up their engagement shoot, Long and Chan envisioned an elegant yet intimate experience. Their goal was to capture a mix of vintage romance and modern sophistication, set against the stunning Italian landscapes. For them, Lake Como represented serenity, beauty, and a touch of timeless glamour.

"Especially the boat scene, it's a must for us! We want our photoshoot to show that together, we bring peace, serenity, and happiness."

Location

Set against the scenic beauty of Lake Como, Passalacqua provided the perfect setting for their engagement. Though a relatively new addition to the region, having opened in 2022, the Villa quickly earned a reputation for unparalleled luxury. Named the #1 hotel in the world by The World’s 50 Best Hotels 2023, its Renaissance-style architecture, lush rose gardens, and grand interiors made it feel more like an aristocratic home than a hotel. Every corner of the property radiated elegance, making it the ideal place for a three-day celebration filled with love and Italian charm.

"The opened view itself is the decoration. It was beautiful, and its simplicity made the overall look pop. I don't think it needs much. The place itself is already stunning.

Love, Laughter & La Dolce Vita

Each day at Passalacqua had its own distinct mood. On the first day, Long and Chan fully embraced the slow, Italian lifestyle. Sipping Aperol Spritz, playing chess in the gardens, and enjoying quiet moments together, they immersed themselves in the Villa’s relaxed atmosphere. These candid, sun-drenched moments captured their love in its most natural form.

"For the casual outfit photoshoot, our photographer is so attentive and smart to brought us Aperol Spritz, which we almost no need to say where the photoshoot was; it shouts Italy."

The second day took on a livelier energy. Chan stunned in a soft yellow dress while Long matched the warm tones with a camel-toned jacket. They explored the Villa’s picturesque surroundings, hopping into a vintage orange buggy, adding a whimsical touch to their adventure. Though the setting remained the same, each day carried its own rhythm, shifting from laid-back elegance to joyful spontaneity.

Bridal Fashion

For the engagement day, Chan embodied classic romance with a white gown from Senstudio, a sister brand of Nicole and Felicia. The drop-waist silhouette added a vintage touch, seamlessly combining old-world charm with modern refinement. Paired with delicate white gloves from Atelier Emé, the look was timeless, bringing to mind the grace of European aristocracy.

Her hair and makeup by The Studio Como was kept soft and natural, enhancing her features without overpowering. The styling withstood even the strong winds of their boat ride, proving that beauty and practicality can go hand in hand.

Moments at the Villa

This engagement shoot would not have been the same without the artistry of photographer Anna Roussos. She has a gift for capturing emotions through light and framing, making Long and Chan’s story feel natural and deeply personal. Her thoughtful approach highlighted their love in every shot, from quiet glances to joyful laughter.

What made her work special was how she brought out the character of Passalacqua in their images. She combined the Villa’s beauty with the couple’s connection, creating photos that felt both intimate and timeless.

Romantic Boat Ride

As the sun began to set, Long and Chan stepped aboard a classic Riva speedboat, cruising across the tranquil waters of Lake Como. The lake’s gentle ripples, the evening air, and the golden light of dusk created an atmosphere of pure romance.

Dressed in their wedding attire, they shared quiet moments, hand in hand, against the breathtaking backdrop of historic villas and rolling green hills. “A vintage style in modern time. Our photographer has helped us consult with our vision and style and has made it come true. We love how it turns out! shared the couple.
