A Destination Wedding in Greece with a Touch of Glam

Danielle and Kofi met during university Freshers week. “We both had no plans of getting into a relationship (of course); we wanted to have fun and explore,” adds Danielle. But things changed when they saw each other at a party. Despite Danielle scaring Kofi off by singing at him from a window after too much wine, he found her on Facebook the next day, and they’ve been inseparable since.

After 11 years, Kofi decided to propose to Danielle. Despite the challenges of COVID-19, they were able to book a trip to the Maldives just before her birthday in October. They stayed in a beautiful hotel with breathtaking views. During their trip, Kofi surprised Danielle with a romantic beach proposal, complete with a slideshow of their favorite photos and the question, “Will you marry me?” It was a magical moment that they will cherish forever. “The evening was perfectly planned. We had a private chef make us a 3-course dinner while we watched my favorite movie, “Love & Basketball,” on the beach—a moment I will never forget!” shares Danielle.

The couple knew right away where they wanted their wedding: “We both love to travel, and we’re happiest when close to the sea & in the sun, so getting married in the UK was off-limits! Originally, our plan was to get married in Mykonos, but after viewing a few venues, we decided to cast our net further, where we stumbled across Vouliagmeni, which can only be described as a hidden gem! When we visited the Four Seasons, it was love at first sight; it blew our minds; we were in awe and knew instantly it was the perfect wedding venue.”

Danielle’s experience trying on wedding dresses was truly magical: “I wanted to look elegant, but also sexy, so I chose a figure-hugging mermaid style dress to show off my figure (that I’d worked so hard for). I had a beautiful long veil that had our initials beautifully written, Chanel pearl earrings & René Caovilla heels.” Her makeup was flawless, and her hairstylist styled her hair into the perfect Hollywood waves. She added a spritz of Tom Ford Soleil Blanc to complete the look. “I felt like a million dollars!” – shared Danielle.

Kofi wore a stylish white tuxedo with matching accessories, perfectly complementing their sophisticated glam wedding theme. He spent some quality time with his groomsmen just before the ceremony.

The ceremony was truly special, with the stunning backdrop of the Riviera coast setting the scene. The couple opted for beautiful white floral arrangements to complement, not distract from, the natural beauty around them. As Danielle and Kofi exchanged vows, the sun illuminated the space, adding an extra magic touch to the ceremony.

Their wedding extended over three unforgettable days. A candlelit welcome dinner at Riviera Coast offered guests stunning sunset views over the water, introducing them to the beauty of Athens. The final day was a relaxed gathering at Krabo, a chic bohemian beach venue with the sea view and the tranquil sounds of the waves. It provided the perfect setting for the couple to interact with their guests, expressing gratitude to each one who had joined them for their special celebration.

The Four Seasons hotel was absolutely breathtaking, with the endless sea providing a stunning backdrop. This is what truly made the wedding of Danielle and Kofi special and memorable.

The reception took place outdoors, boasting a stunning view and a beautiful setting illuminated by candlelight. The newlyweds were showered with love from their nearest and dearest. The evening continued with their first dance, followed by the cutting of a magnificent and delicious three-tiered cake.

The night continued with the newlyweds and all their guests dancing the night away. “Our guests were so happy to be in such a beautiful country. They all had great energy, and the vibes were so high! We were surrounded by so much love and happiness. It was a day we will never forget!” added the couple.
