Location: Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA
Style: Classic, glam, adventurous
Time of planning: 1,5 years
Number of guests: 16
Setting: Ceremony – mountains, reception – hotel
Season: Winter
Shelby and Kyle’s story began on a summer day nearly seven years ago at a favorite local restaurant in Baltimore, where Kyle was working behind the bar. A curious glance from Shelby and a cheeky “Can I help you?” from Kyle sparked a connection that quickly grew. By October, they were on their first date, and from then on, they were inseparable. Five years after that first meeting, Kyle proposed during a beach walk in Ocean City, Maryland, following a cozy dinner. A surprise bonfire and a heartfelt moment on one knee made it the perfect night, with family waiting nearby to celebrate their next chapter.
Bride's Look
Shelby went for a less conventional wedding attire, choosing a tailored white jumpsuit from Lulu’s with delicate straps and a structured bodice. She accessorized with an eye-catching pair of emerald green heels from Erijunor that added a vibrant pop of color, and a meaningful connection to Kyle’s look. Another pop of color was the stunning bouquet by KaraKaraBlooms, a romantic blend of deep red roses, ranunculus, blush gerbera daisies, and white roses.
Later, for the ceremony, Shelby wore a stunning custom-made white and emerald fur cape, lovingly crafted by a family friend. The cape added a touch of vintage glamour to her ensemble while keeping her warm during the chilly outdoor celebration. With a glass of champagne in hand and her hair swept back into a relaxed, romantic up-do, styled by The Day Colorado, Shelby looked effortlessly radiant.
Groom's Fashion
Kyle opted for timeless tailored suit by State and Liberty, but it was his deep emerald green tie that made the ensemble truly stand out. The rich color not only added a sophisticated twist, but also perfectly matched Shelby’s heels and the detailing in her cape, showing off their coordinated style. A boutonniere with a splash of red and white added a touch of freshness, while his dark dress shoes completed the look perfectly.
Ceremony
After a longer engagement, Shelby and Kyle took their time to thoughtfully plan a wedding that truly reflected who they are. Their move to Colorado opened the door to endless scenic possibilities, and they were especially drawn to the natural beauty surrounding The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs. Wanting an intimate celebration, they invited only their immediate families to join them for a day filled with intention and heart.
The couple exchanged vows with a stunning backdrop of the Cheyenne Mountain State Park, officiated by Shelby’s sister, Ashley. Framed by the wide-open sky, golden grasses, and rolling hills stretching out in the distance, the setting was as breathtaking as it was meaningful. Wrapped in her cape, Shelby stood hand-in-hand with Kyle in the crisp mountain air as they promised forever, quietly, simply, and surrounded by the people they value the most.
Private Moment
The couple stole a moment away, just the two of them, wrapped in the stillness of the mountains and the magic of the day. Hand in hand beneath twinkling lights and snow-dusted trees, they shared laughter, soft glances, and even a little dance.
Their joy was effortless, their connection electric. McKenzie Bigliazzi Photography captured the couple’s special day of this with striking sensitivity, beautifully showcasing the playful spirit that defines Shelby and Kyle’s relationship. Every frame radiated how much fun they have simply being together, while also highlighting the breathtaking mountain backdrop that made their day feel like something out of a dream. “We really enjoyed our photo session with McKenzie and we are so grateful she was able to capture our day,” the bride recalls.
Reception
Following their heartfelt ceremony and a picturesque stroll in the nature, Shelby and Kyle slipped away for a quiet toast. With joyful smiles and glasses in hand, they popped a bottle of sparkling champagne. The celebration continued that evening at the hotel, where they gathered with their families for an intimate dinner at Ristorante Del Lago. The night ended on a sweet note as everyone shared a beautiful wedding cake crafted by the incredible GetRight’s Bakery.
"Our wedding day was everything we imagined and more."
