Jess and Malcolm, a stylish New York couple, first crossed paths in 2016 at a dive bar named “Pizza Party” in Bushwick, bonding over a love for house music. Their connection deepened as they discovered shared values and interests. A memorable moment in their relationship was when they attended Burning Man together, only three months into their relationship, a tradition they continued annually. Their engagement unfolded beautifully at the Williamsburg Waterfront in the fall of 2020, marking the beginning of their journey to marriage.
Choosing the Hamptons for their June wedding was a natural choice for Jess and Malcolm, reflecting their summers spent at Jess’ parent’s home in Water Mill. The Parrish Art Museum, known for its edgy and artistic vibe, was the chosen venue. The wedding, planned over a year and a half, hosted a little over 100 guests, creating a grand celebration.
Jess looked stunning in an Ines Di Santo gown from Bergdorf Goodman Bridal, a perfect blend of elegance and modernity. Her attire also held sentimental value, as she wore her mother’s wedding dress for her third look, adding a touch of tradition to their modern wedding.
Malcolm complemented Jess’s elegant look with a sharp, contemporary suit. His attire was carefully selected to match the wedding’s modern and eclectic theme, adding to the day’s sophisticated style.
The wedding ceremony was an intimate affair, designed to be grounding, intimate and personal. It took place at the museum, surrounded by art and beauty, reflecting the couple’s love for the unconventional. The setting was minimal yet impactful, creating a memorable experience for everyone present.
Following the ceremony, Jess and Malcolm shared a private moment, reflecting on their journey and the significance of their vows. This quiet interlude amidst the day’s excitement was a cherished memory for the couple.
The reception was a spectacle of modern and organic elements, with mushroom and earthy tones dominating the color palette. Flowers adorned the tables, complementing the theme, while the setting was a blend of contemporary and natural aesthetics. The overall ambiance was both stylish and inviting.
Papier June played a significant role in bringing the couple’s vision to life. Their work, from the stylish invitations to the menu and program lists, seamlessly integrated with the wedding’s theme. It’s soft tones and texture of mushrooms perfectly coupled with the floral work, especially the engraved terracotta stones as unique guest souvenirs.
The evening was filled with unique elements, from a custom bar cart serving Aperol Spritz as a nod to Jess’ Italian heritage; to interactive roaming raw bar.
Jess wore her mom’s wedding dress for her third look. She and her dad danced to ‘’Remember me’’ by Todd Rundgren. And the neon sign art installation with same words held special significance for Jess, matching her wrist tattoo and evoking cherished childhood memories.
The After Party, with its disco theme, custom mini pizza boxex, Jess’ fun platform shoes and mushroom disco balls, was a nod to their Burning Man experiences and the first time they met.
