Amy and Matt, a vibrant couple originally from Orange County, California, have been inseparable since their college days at the University of Arizona. Their journey began one lively night at a local bar, where both were active members of their respective Greek life societies, Pi Phi and SAE. After a decade together, which included a move to Newport Beach and purchasing a condo, Matt proposed unexpectedly on a beach picnic, just days before a trip to Hawaii where Amy had awaited the proposal.

Amy’s love for the white arches made The Ritz-Carlton Bacara in Santa Barbara the perfect venue for their fall wedding.

Their vision for their wedding day was centered around a modern, coastal theme with a touch of European flair, aiming to highlight the resort’s stunning architecture and romantic ambiance. They worked closely with their wedding planner, Laura from Fawn Events, to bring this vision to life, making their fall wedding a beautifully curated celebration of their love.

On their wedding day, Amy spent the morning with her mom and bridesmaids, enjoying champagne as they prepared for the day. Her Pronovias Constellation Gown was beautifully detailed with crystals and pearls over fine netting, perfectly matching her glowing makeup and elegantly styled hair. After getting ready, Amy and her bridesmaids, dressed in striking black dresses and carrying white umbrellas, went for a photo walk.

Meanwhile, Matt spent his morning with his groomsmen, who were all dressed in sharp black tuxedos. They relaxed together, sharing laughs and capturing the moment in photographs. Matt looked sharp, wearing a black bow tie and a boutonniere that added an elegant touch to his outfit.

During their first look, Amy and Matt met neat the fountain and the moment was charged with emotion as Matt turned to see Amy in her stunning wedding dress. They rehearsed choreographed first dance, adding an intimate layer to their wedding experience.

After the ceremony, these mud vases were thoughtfully repurposed throughout the reception space – a lovely way to integrate elements from the ceremony into the celebration.

As guests started to arrive at the ceremony, they were greeted by a breathtaking view at the hotel, set against the backdrop of the azure ocean. At the ceremony, Amy and Matt exchanged vows, surrounded by family and friends who watched with emotion-filled eyes. The gentle sea breeze and flower girls added a light and elegant atmosphere to the occasion.

After the ceremony, as the sun was setting, the newlyweds took a serene walk along the cliff’s edge, basking in the warm glow of the evening light, perfect for their first photos as a married couple.

During the cocktail hour, guests enjoyed the inviting atmosphere of the open-air lounge, characterized by its Mediterranean-inspired decor. Elegant wicker seating arrangements under white umbrellas created a cozy environment, complemented by rustic tables and lush floral arrangements. The serene backdrop of palm trees and ocean views added to the charm, making it a perfect setting for guests to mingle and enjoy their drinks.

“After deciding on the Ritz-Carlton Bacara as our wedding venue, we knew we wanted to make the terrace the star of the show with pendant lighting and greenery for a romantic dinner vibe,” the bride recalled. Amy and Matt shared a magical moment at their reception space, taking the opportunity to sip their signature cocktails and admire the carefully curated details of their venue before the arrival of their guests.

The reception showcased a beautifully arranged setting on the terrace with soft lightings that cast a warm glow over the elegantly laid tables. Crisp white linens contrasted with the lush, floral arrangements composed of white and pale blush flowers, enhancing the romantic atmosphere. Stationery with delicate, natural motifs complemented the organic elegance of the table settings. Amy later reflected on the significance of this time, saying, “It was special to have that time just us two to soak up all the feels of the day.”

As night fell, the flicker of numerous candles added serene and intimate vibes to the celebration, perfect for a memorable evening under the stars. For the dinner, the bride switched into a stunning reception dress, enhancing the festive mood. After a heartfelt first dance with their parents, the couple cut a simply decorated white cake, set beneath a lush floral arch that echoed the white and soft green palette of the day’s decor.

They chose an espresso martini tower pour, a unique twist on the traditional champagne tower, before the dance floor came alive. “We had a silent disco that started around 10 so we could keep the party going past the noise ordinance,” Amy shared the wise advice.
