For Matt David and Matt Walsh it was always meant to be. Sharing the same name was just the beginning of a bond that felt inevitable from the start. They were brought together by mutual friends, where over a glass of wine, conversation flowed effortlessly, and an undeniable spark appeared between them. Life took the couple in different directions for some time, but they found a chance to meet once more, this time, it was the beginning of their forever together.

Grooms' Fashion

Surrounded by their closest friends and family, the couple spent the morning in pleasant anticipation. Glasses of chilled champagne clinked as they savored the calm moments before their special day.

The grooms opted for tailored black tuxedos from P. Johnson. Their classic matching ensembles, featuring sleek satin lapels, crisp white shirts, and black bow ties, set the tone for an elegant and luxurious celebration.

Private Moment

Before heading to the ceremony, the grooms took a quiet stroll through the city streets and park, sharing a moment just for themselves. Though their matching tuxedos were no surprise, taking a moment to admire each other in the wedding attire made it all feel real.

Ten Acres Agency was there every step of the way, capturing each unforgettable moment, from the intimate, historically significant ceremony to the lively celebration that carried on into the night. The striking black-and-white visuals exuded the old-world luxury the couple had envisioned. The rich, cinematic aesthetic perfectly complemented the elegance of the day.

Ceremony

After considering several venues for their ceremony, the couple found the perfect place in Toorak Uniting Church. For Matt Davis, the church was more than just a beautiful setting, it was a place, where he had been both christened and baptized. The church not only welcomed their union but also made history, hosting its first-ever same-sex wedding.

At the altar, two stunning arrangements of dried fall leaves by Le Salon Aux Fleurs framed the space, a subtle nod to the changing Australian seasons. Their warm tones blended seamlessly with the surroundings. The decor felt organic without drawing attention away from the couple at the heart of it all.

In that sacred space, tradition and progress came together, making the couple’s vows even more meaningful. As the ceremony came to a close, the guests rose to their feet, applauding and cheering for the newlyweds. Their heartfelt congratulations filled the air, as the couple took the first steps into this new chapter together.

Reception

The couple’s reception was nothing short of spectacular, unfolding within the charming walls of Entrecôte, a venue that perfectly captured their vision of classic sophistication with a touch of French allure. The couple longed for something truly distinctive, an experience that would be as memorable for their guests as it was for them. Their search led them to a dear friend, the owner of the restaurant, who opened his doors to host their grand celebration. Together with the skilled oversight of the planner Styled by Louisa Curtis the evening became even more personal and meaningful.

Guests were treated to an exquisite culinary experience, featuring French-inspired cuisine, complemented by champagne and wines. Every toast was greeted with laughter, every bite was a delight, and every moment was elevated by the intimate yet graceful setting.

One by one, friends and family took turns sharing their sincere congratulations. Grateful and full of joy, the newlyweds couldn’t hold back their happy tears, taking in the sight of their closest loved ones, each sharing in the magic of their special day.

The couple’s heart-shaped wedding cake was decorated with fresh raspberries, which mirrored the rich, fruity notes found in the evening’s signature cocktails. The dessert was carefully sliced into bite-sized pieces, allowing guests to share the treat with the couple.

Adding to the magic, captivating program by Mike Snell Entertainment kept the energy high, ensuring that the celebration never lost its rhythm. The dance floor was always full with the rhythm of live music and an electrifying DJ set. The couple and their guests danced with pure joy, lost in the magic of the moment. It was the perfect, shimmering finale to a day filled with unforgettable memories.

"Each person was in high spirits, offering support and encouragement, ensuring the day unfolded seamlessly. The collective effort made for a stress-free celebration, where every detail fell perfectly into place, creating an unforgettable experience for all."
