Set against the breathtaking Rocky Mountain backdrop in Lyons, Colorado, Lindsay Puckett and Alex Covert’s wedding at Planet Bluegrass was a dream event filled with heartwarming moments, vibrant colors, and an unforgettable after-party. This modern mountain chic celebration perfectly reflected the couple’s fun-loving and fashion-forward personalities, with their day blending elegance, nature, and an epic dance party that guests will never forget.

Location: Lyons, Colorado, USA
Style: Modern, chic, nature-inspired
Time of planning: 1,5 years
Number of guests: 146
Setting: Festival venue
Season: Summer

Lindsay and Alex met at a CU football game tailgate in September 2019. Lindsay had just moved back to Boulder from LA and wasn’t excited about being back—until she met Alex. His charm and romantic gestures quickly won her over, and after their first date, he sent flowers to her office the next day. Their bond grew stronger, and soon they were inseparable.

Adventurous at heart, Lindsay and Alex love traveling, camping, and attending concerts together. Friends describe them as twin flames, and their wedding was a beautiful reflection of their shared love for life and each other.

Location & Planning

Nestled on 20 acres of lush landscape, Planet Bluegrass provided the perfect setting for their summer wedding. The couple fell in love with the venue after a visit in the dead of Colorado winter, knowing it had the potential to transform into a lush, green paradise by June, their wedding date. The sprawling grounds offered everything they envisioned for their big day—a natural yet grand space that felt both intimate and expansive.

With the help of their planner, Keely Flatness of Riviera Love Club, Lindsay and Alex approached wedding planning like they were organizing the best party of their lives. Keely understood their vision from the start, recommending Planet Bluegrass after hearing about the couple’s love for nature, fun, and intentionality. Together, they curated a day filled with personal touches and thoughtful details that made the celebration uniquely “them.”

Wedding Fashion

Lindsay, known for her love of fashion, wore the exquisite Cecilia gown by LA designer Katherine Tash. Her wedding look was inspired by her mother’s vintage wedding style, with Lindsay replicating her mother’s lace cape and adding her own twist with a modern chiffon scarf. The bride’s cathedral-length veil and lace cape were a surprise element, only revealed during the ceremony. For the reception, she swapped the cape for the chiffon scarf, elevating her look with an interactive, fashion-forward touch.

In keeping with the couple’s mandatory “Fashion Show Formal” dress code, Lindsay’s bridesmaids wore an eclectic mix of metallics, pleats, feathers, sequins, and silk, creating a colorful and stylish bridal party. The groom, meanwhile, donned a sleek Calvin Klein tuxedo paired with black caiman cowboy boots by Tecovas, adding a nod to his Midwestern roots. For the evening’s party, Alex traded his tux for a green sequined blazer, transforming into DJ Dill to kick off Club Covert.

First Look

The couple shared a touching first look against the stunning backdrop of venue’s towering rock cliffs and flowing river. The serene setting perfectly captured the intimacy and excitement of the moment, with Lindsay’s lace cape softly blowing in the wind as Alex beamed with joy.

The photography by Kaitlyn Marie truly captured the emotion and beauty of Lindsay and Alex’s day. Her ability to work with the natural light and dramatic landscape resulted in breathtaking images that felt both intimate and timeless.

Ceremony

The ceremony took place by the river and mountain, with the natural backdrop adding a breathtaking element to the celebration.

Lindsay collaborated closely with her florist, Mackenzie Terzain of Rose Bud Thorn Florals, to design a romantic and whimsical floral arrangement. White calla lilies, subtle touches of baby’s breath, and dramatic fabric accents created a magical atmosphere. The stunning floral sculptures further enhanced the ethereal setting, blending seamlessly with the outdoor environment to make the ceremony feel truly otherworldly. Lindsay’s flower crown, matching her niece’s, paid tribute to family traditions.

Their ceremony was a blend of tradition and personal flair. Officiated by a longtime best friend, the ceremony was a heartfelt celebration of love, with a live string trio providing the soundtrack. The couple exchanged original vows, which moved many of their guests to tears.

"We wanted everyone to feel the love and celebrate this incredible connection they share."

Private Moment

Lindsay and Alex took a few quiet moments together after the ceremony, walking hand in hand on the venue’s grounds. The serene mountain backdrop created a calm, intimate setting for the couple to reflect on their special day.

Thanks to the thoughtful planning by Riviera Love Club, every moment flowed seamlessly, allowing the couple to fully immerse themselves in the magic of their surroundings.

"They prioritized spending time with each other throughout the day and keeping the wedding party together for maximum bonding."

Cocktail Hour

Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed a golden-hour cocktail reception set against the venue’s scenic rock wall and flowing river. Mountain Crust, catering from a refurbished firetruck named Ms. Olive, served up wood-fired pizzas, salads, and warm chocolate-chip cookies, creating a relaxed yet delicious dining experience.

Reception

Inside the pavilion, minimalistic tablescapes gave way to an evening of speeches, dancing, and non-stop fun. Lindsay’s best friend, country singer Sophia Scott, gave a live performance of “I Hope You Dance” during the father-daughter dance, while Alex’s uncle serenaded the groom and his mother with an acoustic rendition of “Sweet Child of Mine,” adding a deeply personal element to these traditional moments.

Lindsay made a bold and playful outfit change before the cake cutting, swapping her elegant gown for a flirty mini dress. The delicate lace, combined with long organza gloves trimmed with feathers, gave her a fun, costume-inspired look that perfectly suited the celebratory mood of the evening.

The cake itself was a two-tiered blush creation adorned with a large satin bow that matched Lindsay’s love for feminine and stylish touches. The couple shared a fun moment while cutting the cake, as they laughed and fed each other pieces, surrounded by glowing candlelight and smiles from their guests.

Club Covet

As the evening transitioned into the ultimate after-party, Lindsay and Alex turned their reception into an unforgettable experience. The rustic pavilion transformed into “Club Covert,” a neon-lit celebration that perfectly embodied the couple’s love for fun and music. Alex, taking on the persona of DJ Dill, kicked off the party with a 15-minute DJ set. His dazzling green sequined blazer brought a playful energy to the night, and the massive disco ball overhead set the stage for a vibrant, dance-filled evening.

As the evening came to a close, the couple made their grand exit, cheered on by their guests who waved streamers under the glowing string lights. It was a perfect send-off, filled with laughter, joy, and excitement as they departed for the next chapter of their love story.

Advice from the couple:

It’s the one time in your life you get to bring all your people together in one place. You’re just planning a party. Enjoy it! It’s going to be expensive, but it will be worth it. Focus on what you want and don’t worry so much about the specific needs of everyone else. Planning is a big enough feat! It should be fun, not stressful. When you know you have good vibes together and an incredible partner by your side, the rest will follow. Let this be your time to be selfish—your friends and family want to celebrate your love.
