Set at Domaine du Réveillon in the French countryside, Morgan and Christian’s wedding brought together everything they had envisioned: nature, history, incredible food, and a celebration that felt both elegant and completely relaxed. Surrounded by their closest friends and family, the day moved from an outdoor ceremony beneath a centuries-old tree to a champagne tower, sunset-inspired florals, and a dance floor that carried late into the night. Behind the camera, Raw Studio Paris documented it all with a documentary-style approach, capturing the beauty of the setting and the emotion, movement, and energy that made the celebration feel so deeply personal.

Location: Burgundy, France
Style: Ethereal, Fun, Intimate
Time of planning: About 1 year
Number of guests: 50
Setting: Castle
Season: Summer

Morgan and Christian’s story began most unexpectedly, during high school detention. When it ended, he invited her to a Ski and Snowboard Club meeting, promising donuts. “When I showed up, it was just him… and one donut for me,” Morgan shares. From that moment on, their connection grew naturally. Years later, Christian planned a proposal on Morgan’s birthday along the California coast, starting with a day exploring Hearst Castle and nearby wildlife. As the evening settled in, he led her to a quiet beach cove, where they sat on a log overlooking the ocean, “just like our first kiss.” After a moment, he got down on one knee and asked the question, a full-circle moment that felt both intimate and deeply personal.

Inspiration & Photography

They wanted a wedding set in a place that felt undeniably beautiful and immersive, somewhere their closest friends and family could stay and experience it all together. “We wanted great food, music from disco to Y2K pop, and a simple, heartfelt ceremony surrounded by nature,” Morgan shares, adding that above all, they wanted to enjoy the day without stress. After a few romantic trips to France, the decision felt natural. The Domaine offered exactly what they were looking for, “a place that felt like stepping away from modernity,” with a sense of history and atmosphere that shaped the entire celebration.

Behind the camera, Raw Studio Paris approached the day with a thoughtful, intuitive perspective. “Clara was simply amazing,” Morgan says. “Planning from across the world was stressful, but she made everything feel easy.” With a clear process and a detailed questionnaire, the couple was able to define what mattered most, emphasizing friends, family, and the energy of the celebration.

“I really don’t consider myself photogenic at all and was actually dreading taking photos. I loved every single one. We got our photos SO FAST and our family and friends have been gushing non-stop about how they belong in a magazine/wedding mood board. Clara made us feel so relaxed and so much ourselves that day,” Morgan shared.

Bride's Fashion

For the ceremony, Morgan wore Juliette by A La Robe, a bias-cut gown made from 100% silk that felt effortlessly elegant. “It was so comfortable and understated,” she shares. “It never felt like the dress was wearing me.” Wanting something simple yet beautifully made, she leaned into clean lines, exceptional fabric, and a silhouette that felt natural to wear.

For the reception, she embraced a completely different energy, transforming into VAL by Karla Gil, crafted in French Chantilly lace with hand-sewn pearls. “For the party, I wanted something sexy, decadent, and a little Baroque,” she says. Together, the two looks reflected both sides of her personality, one grounded in quiet luxury and thoughtful craftsmanship, the other drawn to drama, fashion, and a true statement moment.

Groom's Fashion

Christian kept his look classic, wearing a suit from SuitSupply, where he found exactly the style he was looking for. Morgan added a personal touch with a vintage silk Armani bow tie and a pearl flower lapel brooch, subtly tying his look to the name cards and the soft pearl tones of her dress. He completed the outfit with shoes from Stacy Adams, keeping everything refined and timeless.

Ceremony

For the ceremony, Morgan and Christian chose to write their own vows, something they still return to and reread together. Set beneath a towering tree in front of the Domaine, with open fields and even a few curious cows in the background, the setting felt effortless, natural, and completely true to them. “I wanted to feel the sun and the breeze,” Morgan shares, “something that would keep me grounded in a moment that can sometimes feel overwhelming.”

The couple walked down the aisle together, hand in hand. “I wanted it to feel like we were stepping into this together,” she says, while watching their flower girl and ring bearer lead the way. Guests later described the ceremony as deeply emotional and incredibly moving, touched by the honesty of their vows and the warmth of Caroline, their officiant, who, in Morgan’s words, “was a total showstopper.” “I couldn’t put it better myself,” Christian adds.

"My mother is blind, so I wanted to make our ceremony experiential for her, even if she couldn’t see us. I surprised her with Burning Love by Elvis (her favorite singer) for our after-ceremony song. She knew the song was for her, and that was something unspoken but felt between us."

Reception

They were drawn to a setting that felt both elegant and peaceful, somewhere deeply connected to nature, and Domaine du Réveillon offered exactly that. The floral palette carried its own story, inspired by the colors of a California sunset over the Pacific, soft pinks, fuchsias, warm oranges, and touches of purple, a nod to the evening of their first kiss in Santa Cruz. “We wanted the color story to bring us back to that moment,” Morgan shares.

As the celebration moved into the reception, the energy shifted. “We had to do a champagne tower,” Morgan says, remembering their entrance to Crazy in Love and the iconic photos that followed. For their first dance, they chose Better Together by Jack Johnson, a song that brought them back to when they first met. “Plus,” Christian adds, “we are better together.” Heartfelt speeches from their closest friends and family brought both laughter and tears, before the night took another unexpected turn with a surprise performance by Yo-Yo world champion Ernest Kahn, a moment no one saw coming, and no one forgot.

After dancing late into the night, the celebration naturally found a second rhythm by the pool. “At midnight, seeing all my friends jump into the pool, swimming and laughing under the moon,” Morgan shares, was one of the moments she’ll never forget. For Christian, it was what came next: “an impromptu jam session by the pool,” singing and playing guitar with his closest friends. Unplanned, carefree, and completely in the moment, it became the kind of ending neither of them could have scripted better.

"Their wedding was one of my favorites of 2025. It was intimate (these are truly my favorites!) and luxurious yet minimalist at the same time. The beauty was in the small details & that’s what made this wedding so unique."

Advice from the couple:

You spent all this time and energy sourcing the right vendors. The most important part is to put your trust in them to do what they do best. Share your vision, taste, and goals, and let them run with it. They do weddings all the time, hopefully you’re just doing your wedding once 😉 Oh, and arrange for a day-of coordinator! I can’t imagine how overwhelmed I would have felt without Caroline’s help that day. She really protected us from stressors and any issues that may have come up.
