Lape and Olumbe’s story started with a thoughtful match — Olumbe’s friend (married to Lape’s cousin) saw a spark before they’d even met. After a few messages, they arranged dinner. Olumbe showed up early — “a subtle power move that didn’t go unnoticed.” Then came Lape, stunning and composed, despite a near stumble in heels that had Olumbe thinking, “This date might end before it even begins…”
Location: England, United Kingdom
Style: Elegant, Romantic, Garden-Inspired
Number of guests: 150
Time of planning: 5 months
Setting: Garden & Ballroom
Season: Spring
But it didn’t. That night turned into more dates, spontaneous road trips to Olumbe’s hometown, and a connection neither expected but both embraced. What began as a chance introduction became something beautifully intentional — and now, they’ve said “I do” in a celebration full of joy, soul, and deep love, carefully planned by the team at Curated by Tara.
Bride's Morning & Fashion
Lape felt every bit the part on her wedding day — “beautiful, at ease, content, and ready to have fun.” She wore a bespoke mermaid-style gown by Alonuko Bridal, featuring a sweetheart neckline and delicate Chantilly lace, crafted just for her. Styled by SO Style and Inai Creative Consulting, she wore the gown with Rene Caovilla Margot sandals — spiral stilettos with butterfly accents that wrapped around her ankles, giving the whole look a couture-meets-whimsy feel.
Her accessories added elegance, featuring a ruffle-detailed floor-length veil and drop earrings adorned with diamonds and pearls. Lape’s look came together with flawless makeup by The Queen Hadassah, hair by Rachel Arike Bridal, and a bouquet of white peonies that was as timeless as the moment itself.
Groom's Fashion
Olumbe described the day as “truly beautiful,” with perfect weather and a deep sense of gratitude for being “surrounded by people whom I had a personal relationship with. Greatest feeling ever!” He wore a pale blue Suit Supply suit with Crockett & Jones shoes and no boutonnière, keeping the look clean. Personal touches included a Cartier Santos with a rose gold leather strap and blue sapphire Cartier cufflinks, subtle nods to timeless elegance.
Ceremony
The ceremony took place in a lush, enclosed garden — chosen for its “natural elegance and intimacy.” The setup was designed to feel organic, as if it had always belonged there, with curated touches that subtly elevated the space. At its center was a custom round stage, just one foot high, framed by an asymmetrical floral crescent that “appeared to emerge from the earth itself,” with every bloom intentionally placed in soft gradients that spilled onto the platform, beautifully blurring the line between nature and ceremony.
The ceremony was full of meaningful details, each one adding to the beauty of the day. Guests held elegant parasols under the sun, creating an effortlessly artistic scene that resulted in “timeless, striking photographs that perfectly captured the spirit of the day.”
What truly set it apart, though, was the vibrant fusion of cultures. Loved ones flew in from Nigeria and around the globe, with many older guests wearing stunning traditional Nigerian attire — a rich, colorful contrast against the soft, pastoral backdrop of the English countryside.
"It was exactly what the couple had hoped for: a visually stunning, emotionally charged moment that set the tone for the rest of the celebration."

Cocktail Hour
Right after the ceremony, the newlyweds enjoyed Aperols and mingled with their guests under the sun — a relaxed, joy-filled moment beautifully captured by Morgan Studios and Timi Oshin. The cocktail hour took place in the garden with trays of canapés, laughter rising over the clink of glasses, and a gentle playlist setting the mood.
Planning & Decor
The team at Curated by Tara masterfully brought the couple’s vision to life, blending elegance with ease. The outdoor palette was kept “fresh and classic” to complement the lush garden surroundings, while the indoor reception shifted into a moodier tone — soft champagnes, creamy neutrals, and rich brown undertones, accented by candlelight and florals by Rosie Belben in deep burgundy, reddish-brown, and soft pinkish nude.
“That subtle shift gave the evening space a moody, romantic energy: warm, flickering, and inviting.” added the planners. Mixed table shapes created rhythm in the room, and custom champagne draping behind the band added the perfect polished touch — rich and refined, yet never too much.
Dinner & Party
The reception took place in a grand ballroom, but the vision was always to soften the formality and create something romantic, layered, and personal. The evening began with the couple’s first dance—Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s “On the Run (Part II),” an unexpected but meaningful choice. As the lyric “Who wants that perfect love story anyway?” played, guests smiled—because, at that moment, it truly felt like one. Surrounded by candlelight and emotion, everything flowed effortlessly.
The cake by Anna Lewis, too, was more than dessert—it was a quiet showstopper. Modern yet organic, it echoed the room’s palette and textures with a sculpted ivory finish and soft, painterly sugar florals that mirrored the floral installations and candlelight hues. It was a seamless part of the design story, not just a sweet ending. As the toasts began—joyful, heartfelt, tearful—the love in the room was undeniable. Guests couldn’t stop talking about the warmth, thoughtfulness, and unforgettable atmosphere.
"I absolutely loved this wedding. It was such a beautiful blend of cultures, with so many of the couple’s friends and family flying in from Nigeria and around the world to celebrate with them."
