The story of Camay and Luke began in October 2020 on Hinge, a serendipitous encounter that set the stage for a beautiful romance. Luke’s proposal at Piedmont Park in Atlanta, adorned with rose petals and serenaded by a saxophone player, marked the beginning of their journey toward a lifetime of shared moments.

The couple celebrated their love in a classic and unforgettable wedding in the warmth of late summer. Let’s stroll through the highlights of their special day, where simplicity met sophistication, and joy marked every moment.

The wedding occurred in the Bay Area, where the bride was from. Camay and Luke chose Hiddenbrooke Golf Club in Vallejo, California. This venue offered a picturesque outdoor ceremony with hills as a backdrop and a spacious indoor area with grand windows. A perfect setting for a day filled with love and celebration.

Camay chose comfort and elegance, wearing an ivory ball gown with an attachable halter. A practical choice that allowed her to dance freely and enjoy every moment but also added a classic vibe. Her bodice stole the show; it was very flattering and eye-catching.

The bride’s hair looks amazing—so voluminous, lived-in, and full. It’s no wonder she chose to showcase it and maintain its natural appearance. “I adore how it falls and loosens up as the night goes on, especially during the dancing—it’s a vibe I love capturing in photos.”

Luke made a style statement in a slate paisley tuxedo jacket, infusing a touch of personality into his classic ensemble. His choice harmonized beautifully with the sea of uninterrupted black worn by the guests, creating a striking visual contrast.

The outdoor ceremony, set against the backdrop of rolling hills, exuded sophistication, featuring a color scheme centered around black, white, and warm neutrals. The couple made a non-traditional approach where all guests were wearing black attire. And this decision made the pictures absolutely stylish and stunning because of the overall concept.

From the bride: “The bridal party walked down the aisle with a single stem long rose, which I got a lot of heat from leading up to the wedding, but I knew it would be dreamy with their gown walking down the aisle, it was…sleek. The bridesmaids picked their own hair, makeup, and floor-length gowns, and the groomsmen wore classic tuxedos”.

Instead of the traditional floral arch, the couple exchanged vows surrounded by baby’s breath bouquets, which gave off the pillow softness. Camay’s bouquet of orchids and roses added a touch of elegance, and petals in the air gave the venue a truly unique atmosphere.

After the ceremony, Camay and Luke took some time for themselves, heading back to their suite and swapping their formal footwear for Nike sneakers for the reception. They recorded a short video, capturing their excitement of walking down the aisle and just walking around and looking at each other. Just two of them. These quiet moments, free from hosting duties and the night’s obligations, offered a genuine pause amid the celebration and the memory that will always stay with them.

The photographer Reagan Suitt of Olive and Oath truly understood the couple, flawlessly capturing their desires, mood, and style. Her photos perfectly balance candid and composed shots, blending the natural and the meticulously arranged. They possess a timeless beauty and perfection. We especially loved how she seamlessly integrated the location’s backdrop into the shots, and the use of film added that classic, slightly vintage touch that complemented the bridal look beautifully.

The lovebirds wished to make their wedding as personalized as possible: We wanted guests to walk in and know, okay, it is obvious this is Camay and Luke’s wedding from the moment they arrived. So, we did a few things. For example, every guest has their handwritten thank you note at their seat for dinner, which was also signed by both of us. We had our drink stirrers customized to say “The Coopers.” Our entrance to the venue had our engagement pictures blown up on several easels that guided you into our cocktail hour.”

For desserts instead of a traditional big wedding cake, Camay and Luke chose Ben and Jerry’s ice cream and a cookie wall adorned with baby’s breath and a sign encouraging everyone to “Treat Yo Self” added a playful touch to the celebration.

For their small cake cutting, the couple used the cake cutter from the bride’s parents’ wedding, and the cake server belonged to the groom’s grandmothers. We love how they kept some moments close to them and sentimental.

Olive and Oath beautifully captured the essence of Camay and Luke’s day. The black and white theme allowed for timeless and stunning photographs, showcasing the couple’s love in a truly stylish way.

Advice from the couple:

Take time for yourself. Those few moments were the only where it was silent and just two of us.

Everything will turn out fine; if something is not what you wanted or pictured, people remember the time they had as to how things looked.

Do the petal toss, do it.
