Time of planning: 1 year
Number of guests: 80

Season: Summer
The couple’s love story had began on a lively dance floor, where their paths had first crossed. Marion and Damian had started out as strangers but left as a couple, setting the stage for a decade filled with shared adventures, laughter, and love. After ten years of building their lives together, the couple finally said “YES” to forever.
The proposal occurred during a scenic tour of Switzerland, with the breathtaking Aletsch Glacier as the backdrop. This unforgettable chapter was followed by their stunning wedding at Schloss Au (from the German word for ‘castle’) — a celebration as heartfelt and timeless as their love, radiating simplicity, elegance, and warmth.
Location & Planning
The wedding took place in the heart of Switzerland at Schloss Au, a stunning castle surrounded by vast greenery, serene forests, and a tranquil lake. This picturesque setting perfectly matched Marion and Damian, offering them ample space to bring their vision of a relaxed, boho-chic celebration to life. The castle’s mix of natural beauty and timeless elegance provided the ideal backdrop for their summer wedding.
Bridal Morning
Marion wore a custom-designed dress from a boutique in Chur, tailored to combine elegance with comfort. The dress featured delicate, detachable balloon sleeves, allowing her the freedom to move and dance with ease throughout the celebration.
Adding her personal touch, Marion decorated her shoes with lace, a subtle yet charming detail that she later removed to transform them into stylish summer sandals. Refined accessories from Rhomberg Schmuck elevated her entire look, while her high bun hairstyle and natural makeup perfectly highlighted her effortless charm.
The final touch was her bouquet, crafted by Anja Florales Design, which complemented the graceful and sophisticated feel of the day.
Groom's Fashion
Damian, who wears suits daily for work, wanted something unique for the big day. He chose a light linen suit in an unconventional color, creating a fresh and breezy look perfect for their relaxed and elegant boho wedding. His outfit from Angezogen Store matched Marion’s airy bridal dress perfectly.
First Look
Marion and Damian shared a quiet and intimate first look under the arches of the castle, setting the perfect tone for their wedding day. When they saw each other, all their worries disappeared, and they were wrapped up in a moment of pure joy and affection. The historic columns and serene surroundings made the moment even more unique, adding to the timeless beauty of the scene.
Bartels Fotografie perfectly captured this tender first look, from the rain-kissed atmosphere to the loving glances shared between the couple. Every detail, from Marion’s ethereal veil to Damian’s soft smile, was documented with precision and artistry, ensuring this beautiful moment would be cherished for years.
Ceremony
The couple’s ceremony was simple yet deeply personal, focusing on heartfelt moments and light touches of humor.
One of the most unforgettable moments came when their twins joined them at the altar. Seeing their little ones beside them as they exchanged vows was a poignant reminder of the love and life they had already built together. This beautiful moment perfectly intertwined their past, present, and future, creating a scene filled with love, family, and pure happiness.
Adding to the genuine nature of the day, Marion’s father gave a touching and unexpected speech — an emotional gesture from a man who rarely speaks in public, making the celebration all the more special.
Cocktail hour
After the warm and touching ceremony, the couple and their guests moved into the adjacent hall for cocktail hour. With champagne and light bites to enjoy, everyone mingled and shared sincere conversations. Laughter and smiles filled the room as friends and family celebrated the couple and captured beautiful photos.
That part of the celebration became a perfect transition from the emotional ceremony to the lively reception that followed.
Decor & Setting
The reception took place in the cozy, rustic setting of Landgasthof Au (from German phrase for ‘countryside hotel’), with large windows framing the natural beauty outside. Tables were dressed in soft white tablecloths and decorated with stunning floral arrangements featuring white daisies, soft cream roses, and airy gypsophila, all styled in a relaxed boho-chic manner, adding a light and natural feel.
The high candles on the tables ideally highlighted the atmosphere and style of the celebration, enhancing the warm and inviting ambiance for the evening’s celebrations.
Reception
The newlyweds made a grand entrance in a vintage car, greeted by a shower of bubbles and confetti, setting the celebratory mood. The reception was filled with joy, dancing, and heartfelt moments. “We met over party music and that’s how we want to start our marriage — cheers to us!” Marion said.
The couple ensured everyone, from kids to adults, was entertained with plenty of fun games and contests that kept the guests on their feet and fully engaged throughout the night.
Sticking with their creative approach, Marion and Damian chose a playful twist on the traditional wedding cake. Alongside a small classic wedding cake, they served cupcakes, giving guests the option to enjoy their treats at the reception or take them home. Their signature cocktail, Amaretto Sour, was a sweet and sour tribute to the balance of life and love, a fitting symbol for their relationship.
The night ended with a heartwarming send-off as Marion and Damian danced under the glow of their guests’ sparklers. The atmosphere was electric, filled with cheer and love, and the photographer, Bartels Fotografie, didn’t miss a beat, capturing every meaningful moment. The boho-inspired editing added a soft, romantic finish to the photos, perfectly mirroring the vibe of their wedding day.
Advice from the couple:
• Try not to worry too much and just enjoy the day, it goes by way too quickly! No guest will notice if something doesn’t go according to plan.
