Brittney and Michael’s wedding was an enchanting celebration of love, bursting with the vibrant colors and energy of Mexico. Set in the gorgeous Acre Resort, their special day perfectly reflected their personalities and journey together. With its bold design and carefully curated details, the wedding felt like a dream plucked straight from Pinterest, all flawlessly executed by the talented team at Bliss Events.
Location: San Jose del Cabo, Mexico
Style: Bohemian, authentic, chic
Time of planning: 1 year
Number of guests: 100
Setting: Resort
Season: Spring
When Michael was introduced to Brittney by a family friend, she wasn’t looking for love. But after a little encouragement and a leap of faith, she agreed to a first date. What started as a casual introduction quickly became much more, with their connection becoming undeniable. By the third date, she knew Michael was “the one”.
A few years later, Michael proposed in a way that perfectly reflected their love. On Brittney’s favorite holiday, the Fourth of July, he surprised her at a lakeside cabin in Minnesota. As they stood alone on the dock, surrounded by beautiful floral arrangements and hidden photographers, he got down on one knee. “After we arrived at a full-blown engagement party with all my friends and family. It was nuts and oh-so memorable!” — recalled the bride.
Location & Planning
The lush Acre Resort in San José del Cabo offered the perfect backdrop for their outdoor bohemian-themed wedding. The venue, Los Agaves, exuded vibrancy and elegance under the clear spring skies, blending rustic Mexican charm with modern sophistication. The carefully crafted details — from colorful floral arrangements to warm natural wood tones — were brought to life by the talented team at Bliss Events by Bonnie Chase.
Bridal Morning
Brittney chose a timeless look with a strapless gown from her hometown boutique and a custom veil featuring her new last name. Her bouquet by Cristina Gonzales was a showstopper — bright pinks, oranges, and deep purples tied together with a bold coral ribbon, adding a fun pop of color to her look. For the reception, she swapped the classic look for a short, tassel-trimmed dress with intricate floral beading. Her sleek low bun and natural, glowing makeup by Los Cabos Makeup kept the chic vibe.
"I wanted to play into the Mexican vibes and truly live in it. If you were to see my house or closet you would quickly realize I am a neutral girly, so this was my one time to be fun and not feel weird about it. UGH, I LOVED IT!”"

The bride wore two pairs of shoes for the day. Michael gifted her a pair of creamy white Prada slingbacks, but for most of the day, she opted for pearl-strap Dolce Vita shoes, chosen for both style and comfort.
Michael matched the energy in a custom light blue linen suit and Lucchese Crocodile Peso loafers, complete with embroidered wedding date and venue details for a personal touch. To make the day even more special, the couple exchanged “wedding day scents.” Brittney chose Initio Parfum’s Paragon, while Michael wore Green Pearl by Thameen.
"Any time I wear the perfume now, it takes me back to our magical weekend."

First Look
The couple’s first look was a private and tender moment amidst the stunning resort grounds. This tender moment was so perfectly captured by Photo by Julieta and set the tone for a day filled with love and celebration.
"Seeing Michael for the first time was amazing, but when we saw the venue for the first time together, it was a very emotional experience. I cried from being overjoyed and he was crying with me."

Ceremony
The ceremony was pure magic, blending vibrant design with the natural beauty of Acre Resort. Brittney and Michael exchanged vows under a stunning floral arch by Cristina Gonzales, featuring bold pinks, oranges, and purples that popped against the backdrop. The aisle, lined with matching blooms, felt like a colorful path straight out of a dream.
Guests were touched as Brittney and Michael shared their heartfelt promises. The soft melodies of Mariachi Cabo added an authentic and festive vibe, making the moment feel even more special. “Our guests said this was the most fun and amazing wedding they have ever been to and probably ever will be at,” added the groom.
"We were absolutely blown away by our event. I knew our planner, Bonnie Chase, and the team were great, but seeing it blew my mind. The months of stress and worry, for this, was such a magical feeling."

Cocktail Hour
Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed signature cocktails named after the couple’s dogs, Enzo and Millie —“people adored this because they know how much we love our little chihuahuas,” Brittney shared. Rolling shrimp bar carts added a whimsical touch, while the lively mariachi band kept the energy high.
Meanwhile, Brittney and Michael took a quiet moment to stroll through the gorgeous setting grounds. Photo by Julieta beautifully captured every tender glance and laugh, creating a collection of breathtaking photographs that became some of the couple’s favorite memories.
Decor & Setting
The reception decor was a stunning fusion of bold floral arrangements, textured linens, and unique touches like salt crystal table numbers. Twinkling string lights and hanging lanterns made the whole space feel magical, while the tables were styled with candles and citrus fruits, adding pops of color and freshness. Even the columns were wrapped in flowers, tying everything together beautifully. Personal touches, like custom napkins featuring the couple’s dogs, made the celebration even more memorable.
"The planning was amazing because I had the Bliss Events team by my side throughout the process. We had multiple conversations, timelines, to-do lists, options on what I could choose, etc. If I didn't know what I wanted, they would always give me the best options."

Reception
The evening unfolded with heartfelt speeches, an exquisite dinner, and plenty of dancing. Brittney and Michael’s first dance to Van Morrison’s “Someone Like You” was a culmination of months of preparation and a highlight of the night. As they swayed across the floor, bursts of sparkling fireworks lit up around them, making the moment feel straight out of a dream and wowing everyone watching.
Guests were treated to a surprise performance by Brittney’s mom, who sang their favorite karaoke song, “Band on the Run.” “Moms don’t really get to do too much when it comes to weddings, it’s all about the dads. That was very meaningful to me,” shared the bride.
The night ended on a high note, with the dance floor packed and everyone soaking in the joy and magic of the celebration under the twinkling lights and starry Mexican sky.
"My Pinterest board truly came to life and it was incredible to experience."

Advice from the couple:
• The sweetheart table is a MUST! It was so fun to look around with my husband at everyone enjoying themselves and discussing the day, the food, the environment, etc.
