A Chic Santorini Wedding with Fireworks and Endless Beauty

There are places where time seems to pause, and every moment becomes a masterpiece. Santorini, with its iconic caldera views and endless blue skies, provided the perfect backdrop for Pascale and Matt’s wedding. Captured through the lens of White on Black Studio, every detail of their day was transformed into timeless photographs that tell their story with heart and soul. Under the soft hues of a Greek sun, the couple exchanged vows in a dreamlike celebration that seamlessly blended classic elegance with modern flair.

Location: Santorini, Greece
Style: Chic, modern, elegant
Time of planning: 1,5 years
Number of guests: 60
Setting: Villa
Season: Summer

Pascale and Matt’s love story began over a decade ago in high school when mutual friends introduced them. Over the years, their bond grew stronger. After patiently waiting for Pascale to complete her studies, Matt planned an unforgettable proposal. On their eighth anniversary, he rented a secluded retreat in Victoria, Australia, where he set a candlelit dinner under the golden hour. As the sun dipped below the horizon, Matt got down on one knee, asking Pascale to be his forever.

It was intimate, heartfelt, and everything she had ever dreamed of — setting the tone for the stunning wedding they envisioned.

Fashion & Style

Pascale was the picture of timeless elegance in her custom dress by Elly Sofocli. She looked effortlessly sophisticated with delicate Italian lace, a flowing silhouette, and a lace-trimmed veil. She paired the dress with chic white Prada heels and a simple tennis necklace, while a spritz of Maison Francis Kurkdijan’s “Grand Soir added that final touch of magic. On her right hand, she wore her mum’s very first diamond wedding band alongside her own, bringing a deeply sentimental detail to her look.

Her bouquet by Betty Flowers Santorini was understated yet stunning, with white orchids that perfectly matched the minimalistic, natural vibe of the day. Pascale also added a thoughtful touch by wrapping an evil eye charm around the bouquet — a meaningful “something blue” gifted by her sister-in-law.

"Everything came together perfectly – I loved every detail and felt very confident in my dress."

Matt chose a sharp Hugo Boss suit, Prada shoes, and Cartier cufflinks, radiating effortless refinement. His choice of YSL’s “La Nuit De L’Homme” cologne was the perfect finishing detail. Together, their looks captured the chic, edgy vibe of their wedding theme.

Ceremony

Set on the terrace of Cavo Ventus, their ceremony perfectly framed the caldera with white roses and a mix of lush greenery, delphiniums, and baby’s breath artfully arranged along the aisle and against the balcony edge. The floral design by Betty Flowers Santorini was subtle yet striking, enhancing the natural beauty of the venue without overshadowing it.

"We did not have any expectations going into it, we knew the view alone would be incredible."

The couple desired to keep the ceremony short and sweet, just as they envisioned. With only 60 of their closest friends and family present, they exchanged heartfelt vows under the open sky. Their emotions were a perfect mix of joy and excitement, creating a truly heartfelt moment.

The ceremony ended with guests showering the newlyweds with rose petals, a beautiful finale that matched the magic of the breathtaking setting.

Private Moment

After the ceremony, the newlyweds stole a few private moments, wandering through Santorini’s iconic whitewashed streets and under its famed blue-domed rooftops. These quiet pauses allowed them to savor the day while capturing breathtaking portraits that would forever tell the story of their love.

The talented team at White on Black Studio documented these moments with film and digital cameras, creating a timeless collection of images. Their skill in balancing candid emotions with artistic framing ensured that every detail, from the couple’s joy to the breathtaking Santorini backdrop, was perfectly captured.

Decor & Setting

The reception decor was the perfect mix of modern simplicity and timeless charm. The setup, created by planners Julia & Evita and accented by Maison Trilogie, featured two long tables with gorgeous white roses running down the center, making it elegant and inviting. Transparent plates kept the look light and airy, while a thin black ribbon tied around each glass added a stylish little detail.

“After countless hours on Pinterest, it was clear we loved neutral/white florals, dramatic drapery and candles!” — added the bride.

Custom Greek-inspired stationery by Elle Creative Studio brought a personal and thoughtful touch to every place setting. Soft drapery and sparkling crystal chandeliers hung overhead, giving the space a dreamy, romantic vibe. The whole setup was a perfect balance of simple and stunning, fitting right in with the natural beauty of the villa’s terrace.

Reception

The evening started with a lighthearted moment as Pascale and Matt tried to pour champagne into a glass tower — only for it to come crashing down. Instead of dampening the mood, it sparked laughter and became a memory everyone would cherish with a smile.

Guests were then serenaded by the beautiful melodies of a cellist and pianist, bringing a classic touch to the already magical vibe.

"We love listening to old love songs (Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Elvis, Etta James), so we definitely wanted a classic feel to the wedding."

As the sun set and darkness fell, the terrace transformed into something ethereal. Candles flickered softly on the tables, chandeliers cast a warm glow, and the gentle sound of waves created an atmosphere of pure romance. Against this enchanting backdrop, dinner was served — a Mediterranean-inspired feast by Mario Restaurant Catering, enjoyed under the open sky.

When it was time for their first dance, Pascale and Matt swayed to “Unchained Melody” by The Righteous Brothers — “a song we always danced to in our kitchen whenever it came on.” — shared the bride.

The evening reached its peak as fireworks lit up the sky, leaving guests absolutely speechless. Every part of this unforgettable celebration — every laugh, tear, every spark of the fireworks — was captured beautifully by White on Black Studio, turning their picture-perfect day into timeless memories.

Advice from the couple:

The day goes by so quickly, so take a moment alone for the two of you to take it all in and enjoy it.
