We sat down with Dalia Ruíz, Quality Assurance Director at SNS DJ, to discuss their innovative approach and define the new era of wedding DJs.

Can you elaborate on the new scenarios you offer beyond the standard options and how they elevate the wedding experience?
We are not USB or SET DJs; we are true Open Format DJs with experience in over 17 different cultures. Every song we play is carefully curated to have a special meaning for the couple, making it sound like nothing else out there today.
Now imagine this: you’re dancing with your guests, and suddenly, there’s an unexpected blackout. Then, your favorite song starts playing, and your family, friends, and guests scream excitedly with you. This moment is enhanced with visuals inspired by international scenarios like EDC, Afterlife, and Tomorrowland. All your guests’ senses are heightened as their dopamine levels soar, with lasers signaling something exciting is coming and light shows creating a WOW effect. These immersive scenarios engage all the senses, energizing guests of all ages and creating epic moments and memories for our couples. It’s one of the most innovative experiences in the wedding industry.
How do you approach customizing the music playlist for each wedding to reflect the couple's unique style and preferences?
We strive to really get to know our couples, which is why we include a personalized music session in our process. It involves our stage manager, quality manager, brand ambassador, DJ, and headliners. You won’t believe this, but we really play the role of a psychologist. We ask probing questions to understand the couple, their guests, their history, the diverse demographics in today’s globalized world, and more. It’s not just about avoiding certain songs or asking about preferences, as traditional DJs do. We create a detailed music profile infused with data, capturing the essence of each wedding’s personality. During these sessions, we also listen to a wide range of music, allowing the couple to relax with a bottle of wine and enjoy the process. No two weddings ever sound alike!
How do you keep everyone dancing and fully immersed in the experience?
One of our promises is always to keep the dance floor packed. We achieve this by reading the crowd and creating a musical journey. We start with more relaxed music to gauge the guests’ mood, then mix things to engage their senses. This rollercoaster of sensations ensures everyone stays on their feet all night long.
Do you have any tips for preparing guests before the wedding party?
Absolutely! We send out a special letter called “How We Do Magic.” One of our top pieces of advice is: “Flip Tops.” Your guests must be ready to have the night of their lives, so we recommend wearing comfortable shoes because they won’t stop the dance all night long!
What Is Music for You?
Music is present in 90% of our lives, accompanying both our happiest and saddest moments. I bet you have songs that you associate them. So basically, music is our way to express feelings, share moments, release emotions, and create lasting memories.
Could you share any unique challenges you've faced while DJing weddings?
Yes! SNS offers an exclusive DJ experience, limited to only 3 weddings per weekend. This exclusivity and our ability to travel anywhere ensure high-quality service, but also mean we get booked quickly. Finding the right match between a client and a DJ is crucial. We are very upfront during our initial consultations: if you’re not looking for the biggest party of your life, SNS might not be the right fit for you.
One of the most challenging things in my career as a wedding DJ is working with clients or wedding planners who are more concerned about what people will say than about being true to themselves. This mindset can complicate the process and make it difficult to deliver on our promises of a packed dance floor, epic weddings, and unforgettable experiences.
How do you see the future of wedding DJ services evolving, and what innovations or trends do you anticipate in the industry?
I believe people are increasingly adopting the YOLO (You Only Live Once) mindset, distinguishing between “nice to have” and “must have” elements for their weddings. Music is definitely a “must have,” and couples are becoming more conscious about the impact a great DJ can produce. We’re proud to be at the forefront of innovation in this field. Still, we also recognize the need to stay ahead of the curve as trends evolve rapidly and each generation brings new preferences. Weddings today offer a blank canvas for couples to express their individuality, and our goal is to enhance that experience with cutting-edge DJ services.
