Imagine a coastal wedding infused with the elegance of a French garden — this vision comes to life in an inspiring shoot set on the stunning North Shore of Oahu island. Designed by Belle de Jour and captured by Theel Wedding Productions, this setting combines Hawaii’s vibrant natural beauty with refined sophistication, creating an atmosphere where every detail feels effortlessly harmonious.
Vision Behind the Shoot
This intimate wedding shoot, brought to life by the skilled photographer Ari from Theel Wedding Productions, presents an elegant vision woven into Hawaii’s spectacular landscape.
Against the lush backdrop of Oahu’s North Shore, the concept aimed to capture the essence of coastal romance enhanced by a subtle French garden charm. The photographer’s focus on delicate details created a series of images embodying the island’s serenity and lively glamor.
“Katie Madison from Belle de Jour wanted to bring a French aesthetic to a beachfront setting. Wanting to play off the blue hues of the ocean, she chose chambray as the focal color and peach hues to compliment those ocean tones.”

Fashion
Wedding dress designer collaborated with Belle de Jour to create a bridal wardrobe that embodies oceanic and coastal themes. The collection’s highlight was the “Coral” cape from the Cape Cod series, doubling as a chic robe for pre-ceremony moments and a stylish reception cover-up.
“With the collection being fully inspired by the ocean, a French coastal wedding shoot seemed kismet.”

For the ceremony part, the bride wore “Ondine,” an ethereal gown capturing a sophisticated, fine-art vibe that perfectly suited the day’s romantic theme. The elegant silhouettes flowed beautifully with the island breeze, adding a sense of movement and grace to each frame. At the same time, the groom complemented her style effortlessly in a tailored white tuxedo jacket with black accents.
Hair and makeup by Reveal Hair and Makeup was kept natural yet refined, allowing the bride’s natural beauty to shine through.
The bride’s bouquet featured gentle shades of peach, pink, white and yellow, tied with a soft blue silk ribbon, adding an elegant touch to her look. The groom’s boutonniere mirrored these tones, subtly complementing his white tuxedo and tying their styles together beautifully.
Ceremony
The ceremony took place in a beautiful courtyard with an ocean view, framed by an arch decorated with soft-colored roses and greenery. The floral design by Belle de Jour was carefully crafted to highlight the location’s natural beauty without overpowering it. A pathway lined with carnations led the couple to the altar, adding a romantic touch that perfectly matched the surroundings.
“To achieve a similar look, we recommend looking at the colors of the venue and background and base your mood board and styling off of the already established space. When choosing florals, look less at types of florals and more for the colors to develop a monochromatic palette.”

Reception & Decor
The reception decor perfectly reflected the shoot’s theme of coastal elegance mixed with subtle luxury. The table setup featured muted tones, a soft white tablecloth from Maison de Linen, candles, and delicate floral arrangements, creating a calm and inviting atmosphere. At the same time, rattan chargers and woven lanterns overhead added a touch of cozy charm.
"Belle de Jour stepped outside the box to create a truly unique color palette that stayed true to the bright and bold presence of Hawaii while diffusing those colors to create a soft and intentional aesthetic."

“Our favorite design element had to be the draped floral bar and custom calligraphy by Juniper Calligraphy addition tucked against the ocean view,” shared the photographer. What a stunning addition to the transformed space seamlessly transitioning day to night.
Walk by The Ocean
As the day came to a close, the couple took a relaxed stroll along the beach, effortlessly posing and enjoying the beauty of the surrounding nature. Theel Wedding Productions captured these final moments, focusing on genuine emotions, catching each candid glance and gentle touch.
The bride’s cape and beaded mini dress added a hint of sparkle to her look. These images of the couple by the ocean beautifully reflect the peaceful romance and charm that defined this shoot.
