At the serene shores of Lake Garda, this editorial in Salò transforms a Mediterranean mood board into a sun-drenched reality. From slow mornings to a breezy ceremony and an al fresco celebration among lemon trees and vines, every frame captures that effortless Italian feeling—romantic, relaxed, and richly textured.

Where the Story Begins

The venue for this editorial, a hotel Angelica Corte Palazzina, feels like it was lifted from a vintage Italian postcard. A soft stone path leads to a rustic arched doorway, flanked by citrus trees and timeworn sculptures. There’s a slow rhythm to the place—lemon brunches casting sharp shadows, handmade pottery by the walls, and clusters of wisteria draping from above like silk. Every corner offered a different mood: from the textured gravel underfoot to the hand-carved wood furniture nestled in quiet courtyards. It felt like a pause, a breath, an invitation to linger.

The paper suite played in perfect harmony with this setting. Minimalist in design, rich in texture, the stationery brought together modern typography with a soft palette of muted ivory and warm taupe. The clean serif lettering stood tall on each card, while thoughtful wording and hand-drawn architectural sketches gave it an intimate, tailored feel. Even the envelope liners and date cards echoed the location’s timeless charm, anchored in elegance without feeling overworked. The ring styling—set atop archival illustrations and paired with layered pearls—tied it all together with quiet sophistication.

Getting Ready

The bridal morning unfolded in soft shadows and delicate layers. Wrapped in a sheer robe that floated like mist, she moved barefoot through the rustic suite, opening the window to the olive trees outside. Her gown by Modeatelier Fuchs featured a corset bodice and voluminous detachable tulle sleeves—playful, but sculptural. A cluster of pearls adorned her neck. Every detail felt tactile: the weight of satin, the rough stone walls, the way she smiled lying in sunlight.

"Somewhere between lemon trees, grape plantations, and the picturesque Italian backdrop."

The groom got ready in the garden, surrounded by the scent of wisteria and the quiet hush of morning. The groom’s look was tailored and timeless—a double-breasted white dinner jacket with contrasting black lapels by Atelier Pedro Placido. A sharp bow tie and loafers grounded the outfit in elegance, while the natural textures of the venue softened the formality. Light bounced off the silk lapels as he buttoned his jacket and stepped into the day.

The Ceremony

The ceremony took place on the sunlit piazza of Salò’s cathedral—a façade of sculpted marble, towering columns, and old-world grace. Beneath the white parasol, the bride walked hand in hand with the groom, their matching black-and-white palette creating a cinematic contrast against the cream stone. It was a simple setup, no arches or florals—just architecture, natural light, and emotion.

They stood before the grand wooden doors, exchanging vows as the city moved gently around them. The officiant and the planner Alana’s Weddings guided the moment with calm presence, while the couple stayed in their own rhythm—laughing, leaning into each other, whispering words no one else could hear. It felt effortless, unforced, and full of that honest joy that needs no extra decoration.

“A priceless ambiance, romance in the air, and the feeling of being on vacation.”

Details in Bloom

The reception was set high above Lake Garda, where the view swept across rooftops, trees, and distant mountain ridges. The tablescape echoed the softness of the landscape—centered around dusty pink and ivory roses, baby’s breath, and tall white taper candles in clear glass holders.

Champagne-hued prosecco bottles added a festive touch, while delicate gold flatware and ripple-edged chargers framed each setting. A satin bow cascaded from the table like a train, blurring the line between bridal fashion and tabletop styling.

Prosecco and Italian Sun

As the sun moved higher and the mood turned celebratory, the bride changed into a second look: a satin mini dress with a sculptural balloon skirt and a high-neck scarf detail tied in a soft knot. The silhouette felt fashion-forward, but playful—made for movement, laughter, and bare feet in the grass.

They celebrated the afternoon like a scene from a vintage postcard—arms around each other, champagne flying, smiles sharp with sunshine. He removed his jacket and rolled into the rhythm of it all, while she danced barefoot through olive branches and folding chairs. Their joy felt unrehearsed, light, and full of that “just us” energy you can’t force.

Rebecca Wrieden’s work moved effortlessly between stillness and spontaneity, capturing crisp editorial frames alongside intimate, fleeting moments. Her eye for light and texture brought out the softness of satin, the depth of stone, and the joy in movement, all without losing the relaxed rhythm of the day. Every image felt alive, styled, and light.

"Oh Garda, it’s such a joy to be here. Italy is and always will be the country of my heart."
