Venice, with its labyrinthine canals and historic architecture, is a living poem where every corner whispers tales of centuries. The Grand Canal greets you with a bustling yet serene spectacle. Gondolas glide gracefully across the water, their gondoliers serenading passengers with ancient ballads. Each bridge you cross offers a unique vista of Italy’s watery veins and the lives they sustain. In the floating city, romance is seen and felt in every step you take and breath you draw. It is a place where love stories are born, and every visitor becomes a part of its eternal tale.
Inspired by the enchanting ambiance, the talented team organized an editorial that perfectly mirrored the essence of the city with its boutique vibe. At the heart of this creation was the impeccable work of The Porfirio Makeup and Hair project, whose artistry brought each scene to life with refinement and flair.
The luxurious Bauer Palazzo offers a perfect blend of history and luxury, situated near the crystal-blue waters of Laguna Veneta, the iconic Piazza San Marco, and Venice’s majestic city center. The venue is a masterpiece, combining Venetian Gothic with 1940s Art Deco architecture.
The day started with a chic breakfast at Bauer. Seated on the elegant terrace, the model was surrounded by the soft morning light that bathed Venice in a warm glow. A pot of aromatic coffee steamed gently beside a flute of sparkling champagne and delicate macaroons, setting the tone for a luxurious start to the day.
A boat ride along the iconic canals followed the breakfast. The model wore a chic white ensemble that consisted of a fitted jacket with intricate crystal embellishments and wide-legged trousers. The Porfirio team’s expert work enhanced the overall effect of the outfit. The bride’s hair was styled in soft waves, cascading naturally to frame her face, emphasizing her features. The makeup was kept minimal and natural, with a light base, a hint of blush, and a soft nude lip that added just the right amount of color for morning activities.
The preparations for the ceremony shoot were as meticulously planned as the event itself. The model was pampering and prepping in the serene atmosphere of the room, with its pastel-hued walls and opulent decor.
The suite’s interiors were a splendid fusion of opulent fabrics, Murano glass chandeliers, and intricate marble mosaics. The venue was adorned with details that transported one to a different era. The walls were painted in soft shades, featuring delicate floral patterns and ornate moldings that exuded an old-world charm. Mirrors with gilded frames added a touch of opulence, reflecting the room’s splendor and enhancing its light.
The bridal details perfectly matched this exquisite ambiance. The lace shoes with intricate floral motifs, the pastel stationery, and a luxurious silk robe with smooth fabric reflected the suite’s luxury.
For the ceremony, we created a makeup look that was natural and light, emphasizing the unique shape of the model's eye with thin eyeliner. The subtle application of neutral eyeshadows added depth, and the lashes were lightly coated with mascara for definition without clumping. The lips were painted in a light pink shade, giving the impression of the delicate colors of a bouquet.
The Porfirio Team
The most subtle art is to create makeup that enhances the features yet looks natural. The Porfirio team showed precisely how delicate wedding makeup can be. The choice of lip color tied together the makeup elements, creating a cohesive and delicate appearance. A gentle touch of blush added a natural flush to the cheeks, maintaining the model’s radiant and fresh appearance.
For the hair, The Porfirio team opted for loose, voluminous waves enclosed by a white bow, adding feminity and romance to the look. A few strategically placed hairpins ensured the style remained intact while maintaining its soft and effortless appearance.
The beautiful gown with intricate lace detailing was from Demas Milano. Its fitted bodice and flowing skirt combined classic bridal elements with a modern twist. The lovely dress had a Roman-inspired look. It complemented the old palace setting but also had a more glamorous and daring style, as if to remind us of the sophistication of the 1940s.
The ceremony took place on a terrace at Bauer Palazzo, offering an unparalleled view of the Grand Canal. The magnificent Santa Maria della Salute church stood proudly in the background. The space was adorned with elegant details that enhanced its natural charm. Rows of stylish pink velvet chairs with gold frames were meticulously arranged, creating a refined setting for the guests. At the end of the pathway, two delicate floral installations framed the aisle, composed of pastel blooms in shades of blush, ivory, and soft peach. A majestic marble statue stood guard over the terrace, adding an element of grandeur to the scene.
The final look was the ultimate example of Venetian glamour. The model wore a breathtaking gown from Bencivenga Alta Sartoria adorned with feathers and beadwork. The long sleeves, high slit, and plunging neckline added an element of drama to her attire.
The Porfirio team crafted a bold makeup look featuring a classic matte red lip and winged eyeliner. The hair was styled in vintage waves, evoking the glamour of old Hollywood. This look was a showstopper, perfectly encapsulating the luxury and elegance of the evening reception. The beauty team opted for a contrast to give a clear cut between the day’s delicacy and romance and the evening’s luxury and strength.
For the reception, the rooftop terrace was transformed into an ethereal beauty scene with a view of Venice’s skyline. The long dining table was adorned with cascading arrangements of pastel blooms and twinkling fairy lights, creating a surreal and enchanting atmosphere. The elegant table settings and the stunning wedding cake added to the visual delight, making it a celebration of love and the timeless beauty of Venice.
This editorial shoot celebrated beauty, elegance, and romance. Venice’s charm combined with each look was a testament to the team’s skills and vision, showcasing modern bridal fashion and beauty.
As the day ended, the team reflected on the magic they had created: “We wanted to bring the beauty of Venice to life through our work, and we are so proud of what we achieved.”
